This is the best Afghani food I've ever experienced! The braised meats are so tender and you must try the braised and the grilled lamb. Really nice ambience with soft lighting and an great service as well. The bartender is great and they have really nice cocktails.

One of my absolute favorite restaurants in Munich. No matter which dish you choose, you are guaranteed an unforgettable culinary experience. Great flavors , especially in their grill lamb dishes, perfectly cooked aubergines and the traditional Palau is magnificent.

Made a last minute reservation for one as this place is full everyday. Very warm atmosphere and polite staff. I was quite hungry and was thinking of ordering 3 dishes but the staff advised against it as the portions are quite big. Indeed, I was full after one appetizer and a main which were the Spicy and sweet pumking with tomato sauce and yogurt and the Spicy meatballs on red lentil sauce and basmati rice... Both dishes were very balanced regarding heat and flavor and would recommend them with out hesitation... 5/5

The best afghani restaurant in the town! The taste of the food is very tasty. Full and strong of spices. The meat is soo tender and juicy. The sauce is so thick and flavourful. The portion also big enough to make you full. You can pay with the card and cash. The waiters are very friendly. The price also affordable and not too pricey. For me it’s great. Im very happy to coming back again. So overall I can recommend this restaurant to try! Approved βœ…

The first time for us to try Afghan food. Choose here bcoz of review n we thought why not? Turn out it was an awesome dinner. Super yummy, so flavourful tender meat n tasty rice ( I had BBQ Lamb n my hubby had BBQ Chicken). Next time when we visit Munich again this restaurant will be part of our plan for sure β€οΈπŸ‘β€οΈ recommend to book table first.

Qabuli pulao was really good. The lamb skewers were excellent. The dishes were well balanced in terms of flavour . The quantity in the plate wasn't enough for a hungry soul . Atleast the portion of rice can be increased (given the price point of >18 euros per dish) The drink london fever was an average one. However liked the Dessert Ferni. I tried Afgan food for the first time in Germany and can recommend trying here . The service is also extremely good.

The Samarod Palou is good and recommended over the other options. The place is a bit packed and you definitely need a reservation and maybe wait until you are seated. The Ferni dessert is very well made and delicious.

I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent food, specifically the mouth-watering blend of flavours. I thoroughly recommend the place, even though it is a bit crowded (this is probably why the waiters seemed a bit stressed!). Make sure to reserve a table in advance!

Wow! This place is amazing! I’ve never had this type of food before and I’m glad I came here. The Veal had pumpkin and other spices; It had a sweet yet Spicy flavor. There was not 1 piece of rice left on my plate when I was finished! This place is a gem in MΓΌnchen! I highly recommend this restaurant πŸ‘

One of the best food experiences I’ve had in my ENTIRE life. I wish I was exaggerating. The flavours were there and were absolutely shining Flavours were rich, complex and absolutely addictive The braised lamb signature dish with rice was a stand out with the lamb being not only super tender but incredibly delicious I would travel across the world just to eat this again

Chopin is my first experience to Afghan cuisine and I am so excited I tried it. This place is outstanding and clearly delivers a great experience as it is crowded and booked night after night. The staff is great, the food outstanding and the atmosphere is perfect. So good I am here back to back nights

Delicious food, packed with flavour and good food size. Our favourite dish was the braised veal in spicy lentil saffron sauce with fried plum served with rice. The service was friendly and attentive too. One restaurant to come back to when we are in Munich.

Chopan serves a delicious afghan cuisine packed full of flavor. The grilled, spicy marinated chicken breast was tender, and both side dishes were flavor bombs: (1) the eggplant in a tomato onion sauce and (2) spinach afghan style were flavor bombs. Their special dessert - Ferni - was a delight to try. The saffron-cardamom pudding was silky smooth, the rose water and orange peel gave it a unique taste, and the toppings of pistachios and almonds added a nice texture. The restaurant interior is prettily designed and excused a warm atmosphere. Despite being very full, the service was polite and efficient. The only critique would be that the portion sizes are rather small for the high prices. The men were not completely satisfied after their meal.

Wonderful romantic ambience. The waiter was great to seat us last minute and this is usually a reservation only place. Very popular and small. Lots of Germans gathered here, which was refreshing in a touristy spot in town. It was also quite bustling and energetic. It was a lot of fun with wonderful authentic food. Highly recommend the baklava with pesto! So unique and delicious. Right by the water, so I would take a stroll there after dinner. I wish I could go back.

First time on an afegan restaurant, and it was a great experience! Beautiful decor and a cozy space. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. So flavorful and big portions, too. Also, it is reasonably priced.

First Afghan meal is my life and I am sold. Maschaua was mind-blowingly fantastic; the spices were well balanced and every bite was an absolute joy. Portions are huge as well.

Very delicious fooooddd!! Chopan water was quite refreshing and their signature slow cooked chicken dish with lentils was flavorful. Portion was good enough for the price. Although the place is quite small, the ambience is nice. Worth visiting again :)

I think that was the first visit to an Afghan restaurant in my life. The interior is very coherent, dark and calming and invites you to linger. The tables are a bit crowded, but you still have enough space. Overall, the restaurant is not too big. For dinner I had the lamb skewer. It was served with almond rice and spinach. The lamb was incredibly tender and perfectly cooked. The side dishes were just perfect with it. And although I'm not a big fan of basmati rice, I found the combination of the almonds, the rice and the please orange peel very convincing. A great evening.

Amazing food! Love the atmosphere in the restaurant! My food was very good I had nr 34 with chicken and the aubergine in tomato sauce. Also the recommended yoghurt drink is delicious. This one was my favourite. Can't wait to come again 😊 Great service as well!

I love this place! Always something to choose for a company with vegetarian or gluten intolerant people. Fantastic lamb, enough spices and extremely friendly staff. Will definitely visit this restaurant again!

Average taste, higher price, small portion & tastes exactly like Indian food. I ordered Mutton Pulao. I got more vegetables side dish than the main meat dish.

Amazing Afghani food and one of my favorites in Munich. Only down side being waiting time as they are so so popular. But yes, you need to make a reservation always and although it's a little cramped inside but very warm staff and so helpful with a smile always. Although we are vegetarians but still Chopan holds a variety for everyone. The katscahlu is awesome and of course the quabeli Palau is my favourite along with the Chopan water which a mix of mint, lemon and elder flower. The pherni is not to be missed. Absolutely recommend the place. Parking is difficult, so be prepared or take the U Bahn.

Chopan offers an authentic Afghani culinary experience in Rosenheimerplatz, Munich. With flavors that transport you to the heart of Afghanistan and attentive service, it is a restaurant worth considering. While the dishes may be perceived as slightly overpriced, and the portion sizes are relatively less, the overall quality and taste make Chopan a noteworthy dining destination.

I was there in 2014 and the food was so good. And now they accept credit cards....perfect. A place you have to try, at least once in your life.

I've been told about the place for so long, and it lived up to expectations. There are actually two locations right next to each other, with another restaurant in between. We had kind and attentive service, helping adjust to our changing reservation size -- you definitely want to make a reservation as there isn't much room. The flavors weren't something I had experienced before, but definitely left me wanting to go back for more. The lamb with the linsen and saffron was unreal. Till next time!

Really enjoyed eating here! Great food and service, so busy you know it is a local favorite. Prices are a bit higher than your average Indian restaurant, but seemed worth it.

First time eating afghan food and I can only said it is superb. We ordered a couple of appetizers which were amazing, followed by one of the best lambs I have ever had. At the end we order 2 different desserts and both were delicious. The service was also friendly and helpful. The only downside is that it is quite small.

The food was pleasant. Good portion. Maybe today is friday that's why they were very busy. Only one person was serving. One drink we ordered the mango lassi was a bit off,the server pleasantly changed it.

We tried to reserve a table a couple of times but it was always completely booked. When we finally got a reservation we were not disappointed. The food was amazing and the staff super lovely! The taste… just delicious. Definitely worth trying. 5*

As always a stunning dinner and glad we made a reservation. May diners were turned away as they did not reserve. The pumpkin and eggplant in tkmatoe sauce and yogurt were amazing and so were all our chicken, lame and veggies dishes. The rive tastes amazing....service was great, the waiter was cracking jokes all the time and we really enjoyed our dinner. Will be back soon

Amazing food, super nice people and a good atmosphere😍 if you wanna have a delicious dinner and also want to try something new, you definetly have to come for a visit. Better to reservate because it's really busy. But it worth it 😊 a lot of meat options but also vegetarian food. So delicious. The portions are big, you will definetly get full and the price is perfect! Will definetly go more often!

Excellent, excellent Afghani food that's always well seasoned, generously portioned, with juicy and tender meat. Even the rice itself is so tasty. Can strongly recommend.

There are 2 restaurants close to each other. The food really exceeded our expectation. We ordered chicken pulao and some other popular dishes suggested by the waiter. The food was delicious. Dohi and ferni were also great.
