We came in the hottest day on Dec 14. Beautiful beaches with unique decorated huts along the beach. You can take a nice picture la and the beach is clean and crowded. Lots of flies which I donโ€™t really like. Nothing you can expect like food or drinks on sell there.. BYO!

It takes around 1hr to come here by tram/ bus from the city Center, but well worth it We decided to try Uber instead and that was even faster, around 30 min The most famous attraction is of course the bath boxes just further down the beach Great picture taking spots , today we are blessed with windy and cloudless weather. Fantastic day out

Nice view of colorful house along the beach but a long walk around 1 km from the bus station. I went there during winter so itโ€™s freezing and windy.

Itโ€™s a beautiful beach for photo-taking and sightseeing in Melbourne! Those colorful cabins on the beach were awesome and some of them had nice designs and paintings on the walls. The only thing is that there was a big construction site next to the beach, which was a bit annoying. Hopefully we can see the whole beach area again soon!

Situated in a very beautiful and calm place, little bit outside from the main Melbourne city. Well connected with the public transport. Beautiful huts and cliffs situated at the beach sides are the main attractions.

I remember during lockdowns I used to regularly walk down to the beach and back but hadn't visited since then but literally going past so stopped to take some photos. And it was perfect say, sunny winters day, flat, calm beautiful blue water. Lots of parking along beach but need Bayside parking permit or else have to pay. And of course there's the tourist trap of the beach boxes.

Was not impressed. The travel to get here was not worth it. You travel almost an hour only to see mediocre houses painted with some random murals. The roads leading to this area is actually a lot better than the destination itself. In fact, the houses near this beach is much more impressive than the houses on this beach. Such a waste of time, it is better to go at Victoria National Museum or State Library if you want a better experience. Even better, just go straight to Great Ocean Road instead of wasting your time here. Only the beach is its redeeming factor

Brighton Beach consists of a few smaller beaches that connect to each other... Middle Brighton , Brighton itself, Dendy Street Beach, Hollows Beach to Green Point. It gets very crowded in the Summer months, especially the Dendy Street Beach part as the Brighton Bathing Boxes are there. It is a popular area for the locals and tourists like to exercise. It is the One of the best places for photoshoot. It really is a lovely place to relax. The sand is truly golden and the water quite clear.

I used to live in the area, and it was my favorite place to just chill despite the fact that it can be really crowded especially on warm sunny days. Don't buy anything from the trucks parked near the parking, they are overpriced and their coffee sucked big time. I was fooled a few times, but learnt my lesson eventually. The beach houses are nice, but they are overrated. There's a good stretch along the beach good for walking or jogging. There are some nice views of port Melbourne too towards the end.

A must go to place in the summer. There is a ice-cream van here that sells ice-cream (not really the best ice-cream) but it is better then nothing. Hot spot for watching the sunset and having ice-cream at the same time. It gets very crowded with locals and tourist just before sunset. Car park is not for free here but don't worry you have the option to pay by coins or card.

  • 4/5 yang yu c. 4 years ago on Google
I went there on a raining and windy day. Soooo cold. Luckily, the sun came out after shower. If you have many days in Melbourne, choose a nice day to come. Here are just these boxes. And it's not very convenient to take public transportation to here. Many tourists come for beautiful photos. So... I don't really recommend if you wanna experience something special. But!!! Taking photos here on a sunny day would be lovely.

It's one of the very beautiful and peaceful beaches in Melbourne. It's a Standard beach with all the required facilities and beautiful scenery around. The men's toilet is bit smelly otherwise everything else is reasonably well. One side of the water is very cold and the other side water is warm. The wind flow is sensational and completely stress reliever.

Great beach to catch up the sunset. Easy to get there, driving or with public transport. Toilets are close, restaurants and coffee places.

Worth a visit, but relatively busy given the temptation for Instagram photos.

Beautiful beach with some nice colorful wooden finished houses. The houses give the nice vibe. Bit crowded even in a winter weekend day.

We visited Brighton Beach on the way to Philip Island. Colourful bathing boxes makes it special and best for photography. Go to place for for relaxation. There was a construction going on and beach parking was not available.

Lovely place for a picnic on a sunny day. A bit crowded, but the little houses are really beautiful. Good for taking photos.

I think this beach is overrated, the sand was filled with lots of broken shells and I stepped into something sharp. They should really make an effort to clean up and make it more friendly for walking.

Very peaceful and beautiful beach, I love the decoration of each house. You can get a very nice view of both the beach and the city skyline when you walk all the way to the end of the beach. The neighbourhood is lovely and there are lots of nice places to eat nearby.

Brighton Beach is situated in the upmarket suburb of Port Phillip Bay and is easily accessible by bus or via the Sandringham train. Donโ€™t forget to bring a hat, sunscreen and drinking water, as the sun can get very strong, especially in high season.

Itโ€™s a great place to spend a good sunny day. We spent about 2-3 hours here which was amazing. We also had our lunch here when we had a minor disturbance from the birds but itโ€™s no big deal. Kids loved the beach and wanted to spend more time in the water. There is a walking trail along the beach and a designated area for dogs to play. Thanks.

Brighton beach is a beautiful beach with nice sceneries. Lots of seagulls playing around and people sunbathing around the houses. The access to location is pretty convenient and close to little and middle brighton stations. You can enjoy wonderful beach sunny mood here. Dont forget sunscreen applied on you and portable speaker for good vibe!

Maybe it was due to severe weather, the beach didnot look as good as what people said, but the bathing box definitely worth to visit.

Rainbow colour rainbow theme, people are said a bathing booth here worth for 600k AUD per each , worth to come to taking the photo . A great view beside the sea and it was nearby the Melbourne city, for those rental the car, better visit this place before return the car to rental company. It was taking 20-30 minutes from Melbourne city to reach this destination .
