May be one of the worst hotel experiences ever. Staff was very unfriendly and not kind or caring. We arrived early. We just got off a 16 hour flight and I was not well. We knew check in wasn’t until later but I was sick and it was an off day, not the weekend. They did not care and made us wait. After 3 hours of waiting and getting sicker and sicker my hubs threatened to leave a bad review and oh all the sudden we can get a room. I was in the lobby at least 3 different times during our stay and heard them let people check in early. Went downhill from there. A/C was non existent. We will check it, etc etc, they never did anything. Plastic pillows that were miserable. One comforter that didn’t even fit over both of us and we aren’t big people. Always were made to feel that you were bothering staff if you needed anything. No dressers, shelves etc to put anything. We lived out of our suitcases on the floor for 2 weeks. 3 different employees told us how the company has changed and that they were miserable and either leaving or looking for different employment. They all looked miserable and unhappy. I honestly don’t have one positive comment to make about this hotel. We will never stay in a Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express again. Location was not great and the pictures they have posted make it look nice. All we can say is run! Horrible experience and it was my first trip to Europe ever. So disappointed!

Stayed for 3 nights here. There's a bus stop right in front for bus 190 and 191. Just a few stops away from central, considered convenient. Love their breakfast buffet, 630am to 11am. The size of room is big enought for 2 pax with 2 large luggage. No hair dryer provided and no slipper. Other than the carpet is a bit dirty, everything is well to us. Comfortable stay.

The rooms are very dirty especially the carpet. The breakfast that comes included is worse then most american hotels i been too, including very cheap ones. The best part of this hotel is the bathroom and the accessibility to public transport. I stayed for 7 days and paid a bit under 900 and it was not worth it. Do NOT come, you can def find a better value for your buck somewhere else. When i first arrived Front desk was rude and seemed annoyed i kept asking questions. When i got to my room the a/c wouldn’t turn on/ work and i called front desk and again they were rude. I asked about the ac and they said they have been having problems but it works, i then asked what that meant and they just it works then hung up. I was amazed that i just hot hung up on luckily for me i brought a portable fan that saved my time here

Nice hotel with great breakfast. Staff is friendly and the rooms are fine. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel for an 8 minute ride to Ostbahnhof. There are also grocery stores in 5 minutes walking distance. The not so good things her are the gym, which is somewhat small, and that there is no water cooler and coffee/tea in the lobby throughout the day.

DIrty room - carpet and table, breakfast poor, housekeeping every day at 6pm, so right after you came back to hotel somebody wants to get inside. Hotel is divided into two parts - "fancy Holiday Inn" and Holiday Inn express. However they afford to have only one reception and this is in HI. For checkout I want to HI reception and I used breakfast directly there. Then they wanted to throw me out as a cheap guest from cheap HIE shouldnt be there. However there was nothing better for breakfast in HI compared to HIE. I paid 1000 EUR for 4 nights in dirty room with bad services. Never again!

From where we start. Reached around 6:00 pm and reception attendee was busy on phone for 20 minutes. After 4 hours we noticed that AC is not working, then I tried phone and surprised to note that they haven’t connected to reception at all. I reached to reception and complained about AC and reply was mechanic not available then I requested to change room then replied and requested to please complain for management that management knows that AC plant is not working and I written a complaint and explain that management knows and at the time of check in Hotel didn’t update us for AC. He was not ready to receive my complaint and asked me to delete that management knows or add that he also informed me that management is trying to repair for which I was not ready. Then I asked many times for help as provide any Fan tonight or cancel my booking but for anything they were not ready to help and asked me to meet GM in the morning at 7:00 am and from 7:00 to 9:00 am I was on reception but GM didn’t reach. Then at 10:00 am again I tried to meet him but reception told me that GM is busy in meeting and he didn’t know when he will get free. The situation was so bad and finally we left as it is and slept with open windows. He said GM is Sr manager I can’t disturb in meeting. Very terrible., I stayed more then in 100 hotel’s in 25 countries but never experienced such a bad management. I wanted to call cops but my wife advised me intelligently that we can expoil our vacation and these 3 nights we can never forget. Actually grist time we didn’t read reviews before booking so this happened. Please take care in future to all tourists. I will take next step when I will reach my country back. All incoming guests are requested to please read review and book accordingly. There were more many issues but not possible to explain all. Other staff and breakfast was good. DK Sharma 25th June’22

One of the worst experiences I ever had during any stay in hotel. This place is not at all recommended as they loot you with the money. I was charged twice (my booking amount) and till now they have not refunded my amount. I gave my clothes for laundry and filled up the sheet with proper details of my clothes. When it was returned, clothes were missing and they hotel staff did not even have a clue about it, truly shameful.Reception staffs were rude, and they know nothing when you ask then about the process. Why are they even standing in reception if they know notifying and to top that their behavior was so unruly. I seriously suggest the hotel management to look at this ASAP, because there are lot of negative reviews on your way because I wasn't the only to suffer because of this.

The hotel and staff were fine. Good breakfast, and glühwein in the day. As long as public transport connection run, places aren't to difficult to get to. However 3 of our 5 days trains were 20 minutes late and we missed connections. Not the hotels fault , but it relates to the location.

I have stayed in many budget hotels in Munich but this hotel was not as good as others. They are SHORT STAFFED and house cleaning is pathetic. Firstly, they gave me the room keys of an other guest when i checked in. Then i had to go all the way to inform them, they shrugged it off with system error and the new room they gave me had trash from the previous guest and no towels. It was a mess! Would never stay in this hotel again. The staff at the reception was rude, may be internal issue or new trainees. Only grace was the breakfast, staff was very efficient and nice.

This hotel's deceptive billing policy ruined my experience. Despite advertising "no charges until cancelled at 6 pm a day before," they charged my card the full amount two days prior. Guest relations acknowledged the error, and the manager promised a refund—twice. It's been over 7 business days so, you can not blame me that I did not wait. Despite four calls, speaking with guest relations and twice with rooms division manager, SOHAIL WASEQ, my money has yet to be returned. This lack of accountability and unfulfilled promises tarnish the hotel's reputation. Why are you fooling people with false advertisement? They advertise “No charges until guest is on property and if canceled before the cut out time” but, charged my card 2 days prior to the booking. It’s going to be ONE MONTH on Dec 18, 2023. What a joke!

My experience with this hotel was a series of disappointments. Their false advertisement of no charges until 6 pm the day before is misleading, as they charged the full amount two days in advance. To make matters worse, despite canceling within the specified time, they applied a penalty and refused a refund. Guest relations acknowledged the mistake, and the manager promised a refund on two occasions, yet seven business days later and a month for the whole facade, my money is still missing. The lack of transparency, coupled with unfulfilled assurances, makes this hotel's service deeply unsatisfactory. I blame the room division manager, SOHAIL WASEQ. He knows exactly what happened but still has not processed the refund. The management should seriously look into it as it could very well be a way to fraud people and make side pocket money.

This hotel is very weird. For a short stay it probably works okay, the breakfast is good, the rooms are nice and it's overall very pretty. Most staff are friendly and helpful. Long term stay is a bit of a last resort though. We've been waiting for a fridge for months and still no update, not apology or any attempt to make up for it. Communication from the hotel and their staff in general is lacking. There was a big fire alarm and no information was given, we weren't even told when it was safe to return to our rooms.

We had nice experience of staying here. Room had a few stains on the carpet from what looked like a bender. Housekeeping cleans rooms daily. Room was well-equipped with kettle, fan, a/c and even iron. Breakfast was good and full of options. Waiters are friendly and helpful. Location is 20 minutes walking from nearest train line. Local stores are around the corner. I also have to mention that check-in to the Express is to be done at the main entrance of Holiday Inn. This seems straightforward, but there are 3 different entrances and 2 buildings so it can be annoying. Not high end by any means but certainly gets the job done.

Well nice rooms, breakfast is really good. The location is also amazing as you can find many stores by walk and can get public transport easily. However, they should not let families stays with bachelor groups who taken over the compete floor. You can’t sleep if somebody running around in the lobby with so much of the noise and hassle. May be we were bit unlucky.

A DRESS IS MISSING FROM THIS HOTEL ROOM!!!! HOTEL DOES NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY TO SORT OUT WHO AND WHY THE DRESS WAS STOLEN FROM THE ROOM!!!! My husband and I checked into the room on Monday evening, all our things were in the room, I had a black jacket and a long black silk dress in a separate black YanGol bag with silk handles, I immediately hung the jacket on the rack because I was going to wear it while in Munich, and the dress remained in the bag. Since I was not even planning to wear the dress, I found out about it when I was packing, I took the jacket from the hanger and started to see that I had nowhere to put it, the bag in which the dress was and in which I was supposed to put the jacket was gone!!!! We reported to the reception that the bag with the dress was missing from our room, we were told to wait in the room while they were looking for it, we waited for about two hours, we had to do check out. We checked out of the room, they promised to send us the dress or reimburse us (without recognizing the brand and cost of the dress). Our huge mistake that we did not call the police at once, but trusted the hotel administration that they would deal with the situation and tell us something. We asked to write to What's Up, but none of the hotel staff wrote us anything!!!! We started to call the hotel to find out some solution to our situation, and the staff started to say that they don't know anything!!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL, BECAUSE FROM YOUR ROOM MAY BE MISSING THINGS!!!!!

Quite new hotel with good location. Good connections to Messe and city center. Approx 500 m to s-bahn station, where is also few shops. Tidy rooms, although carpet is dusty and got spots. Good freakfast with all you need, but without any local spealities.

Budget chain hotel with bright room and modern bathroom but lacking in check-in service and has very slow internet connection. There was no Check-In Desk at Holiday Inn Express and we had to walk down to Holiday Inn. The check-in process is not smooth:- • There is a queue at reception • No instruction on how to access internet • No direction of where breakfast is • No direction on how to access our room from Holiday Inn • No amenities offered to Platinum Elite status • Could not answer my queries on Reward points nor direct me to someone who could Our room on the 4th floor is bright, with big windows, and a spacious, modern shower. There are quite a lot scuff marks on the wall, and a few cigarettes butts in the balcony outside the window. The included breakfast has standard variety and the top-ups and clearing of tables is good. The internet is quite slow - I had wait for my emails messages to load up! Access to the city centre from the hotel is quite easy - by S-Bahn (S2,S4,S6) or trams (#21). Its a 10 minutes walk to the S-Bahn station, and similar distance to the tram stop. There is a bus stop (#190) just outside the hotel. There is quite a few supermarkets nearby and a few eateries on the main road.

Nice accommodation for budget conscious active travelers. The room was sufficient for a short stay (2 nights) for parents with a child without a lot of luggage. This is basically an economical hotel for active travelers who won't spend much time inside the hotel. The staff is professional and effective. Location is nice - it's not a city center, but there're several possibilities to reach it, and the neighborhood is quiet. The hotel seems abandoned in the middle of the day on weekends, as guests are exploring Munich and there's no one on reception - you need to go to the nearby Holiday Inn to check in or to leave your luggage.

Had to change room 3 times to get a proper room that doesn't have: smelly toilet/ sunken bed/ dirty carpet. Usama (front desk) is very rude and unclear in his instructions regarding our food deliverer's whereabouts. Kept blaming us instead of problem-solving - horrible! Made us run around both hotels to find the deliverer because Usama chased him away. Will not be back and would not recommend.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The stay was ok and breakfast was very good. The hotel is next to a bus stop and about 9 min walk from a metro station which makes it very accessible. Downside - the air conditioning was weak and didn’t cool down the room at all and it was disturbing because of that . They need to improve their air conditioning. Also they didn’t seem to bother much about it.

Location was fine for touring old Town and Munich in general. Bus 190 and 191 directly outside. Rooms were clean and typical of a holiday inn express. No complaints there. Excellent breakfast, weekday staff friendly weekend staff not so much but who cares in the big picture. The one issue is the check-in process. Do not arrive even 1 min before 3pm. We arrived at 1400, about 15 people and families sitting around. Being a member had 0 privileges. We went to check in and were told rooms are not ready until 3pm. For an hr, people were checking bags at the counter and leaving. A while about 40 people sat until the mad rush at 1500. We watched staff of about 4 people stand there doing 0 for an hr while we all waited. Over drinks were available during your wait. That is our only complaint, so all in all a good stay.

We had great experience of staying here. First, room was overall clean and housekeeping cleans rooms every day in the morning by the time we already leave. It was convenient. Second, room was well-equipped with kettle, fan, a/c and even iron. Everything works fine. Third, breakfast was good and full of options. Waiters are friendly and helpful. Finally, location is nice since it is only 17-minute away from Altstadt by tram. All local stores are around the corner. Only con I could find was room size. For three people, it was a bit tiny. I also have to mention that check-in to the Express is to be done at the main entrance of Holiday Inn. I would definitely recommend this hotel and come back next time

Decent hotel for the price though not much assistance from the front desk at times. No any restaurant option within the hotel at this moment but there are some in 10 minutes walk from hotel, Tram and underground station are also within 10-15 minutes walking distance to go central station or other areas.

Very good hotel, everything was perfectly clean, but carpets are begging to be replaced... Unfortunately, lot of indelible stains. Breakfast - very good, everything was excelent. Hotel staff - AMAZING! Very honest, open, friendly, helpful and positive people. Very good location - 15 mins with a bus to Ostbahnhof or less than 10 mins on foot to Berg Am Laim S-Bahn Station. Worth to mention - bus stop is exactly next to the hotel!

We booked here for 4 nights. First all the things are taken care of at the Holiday Inn, no help in Express, so there were many delays which was inconvenient. Then on the second day my child got sick and vomited all over the bed sheets and duvet and a little but on the floor. It was only around 8pm, it was hard to get hold of the front desk and housekeeping was gone. We had to clean everything and ended up having to go down ourselves to pick up beddings. Shockingly, the front desk doesn’t know where the beddings are so they gave us 2 thin sheets for 3 people in late-December. I was trying to be understanding because it is the Express and after all my child vomited. My husband and I had to clean up everything. We bundled up and shared the queen bed with our child. Things turned worst, from all the hotel experiences whether cheap or expensive, it is common sense for housekeepers to bring what’s missing or dirty, but not here. Though we asked the front desk in the morning specifically again, because we can’t get a hold of anyone through the phone in our room even during the day, we just got one single blanket for three people. When I asked for more, the same reply was given to us, the front desk doesn’t know where the beddings are. The service is horrible!

    - Great room, great facilities, staff are really kind, the breakfast is really good. Area is nice and safe, has a few nice restaurants nearby. Bed was incredibly comfortable, had such a good sleep there. Couldn’t recommend it more.

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed. The carpets looked like they haven't been cleaned for years. Not just the corridor even the room carpets were dirty as well. Very unhygienic. I go to the bathroom and I see wet toilet paper. The staff's are not courteous. I paid for everything much prior to my arrival and still my check in took a lot of time because the staff was confused. Not recommended. There will be better hotels for the same budget. Avoid!

Very good place, the location made it very accessible to the centre. It had an air conditioner, very modern furniture and lovely staff. I would recommend it for family vacations especially for the affordable price.

  • 5/5 Daniel N. 2 years ago on Google
What can I say - I was really pleased. Everything was fine. Clean rooms, some shower gel, hair dryer. Cushions were a bit uncomfortable - like filled with air, but breakfast was really tasty.

  • 4/5 ابواية 1 year ago on Google
Good overall. But it is was uncomfortable in terms of parking. You need to go reception everytime to take a ticket if you want to leave the parking area. This is waste of our time as the reception was far from our room. Better if they let the guest pay the parking fees in advance and gave multi-use ticket for the parking

We found this hotel very satisfactory. Modern, clean, efficiënt and an absolutely great breakfast. Friendly service and reception. Good beds, nice bathroom. Like in every other hotel the airconditioning is hardly working and there are stains on the carpet. But a good choice for a stay in Munich.

  • 3/5 Daniel T. 3 years ago on Google
Tiniest rooms ever encountered. Seriously, there is no space to move around at all. Imagine trying to fit a family of 4 in such a space. And there aren't any bigger rooms either. The non express hotel attached is nicer and has a cute rooftop bar. Breakfast was good but can be better. By comparison, breakfast at the regular Inn is much better. So skip the Express and book the Holiday Inn instead.

This hotel is far from city center about 30 car ride from the center. 30 euro one way Uber ride if you have luggages. We requested a 3 person room for 3 days and the room given is not meant for 3 people. The sofa bed took all the remaining space for the luggage. Luggage do not fit on the floor to open them up. You have to place the dirt luggage on the bed to open them up and get your clothing. I told them if they had a bigger room she said all their room are the same size and nothing she could do. She was nice but not willing to help find a different solution. We also missed the first day because of the train strike. we trying calling them about 10 times and emailed them had no luck talking to anyone in the front deck. Once we arrived they said sorry we are short staffed so we did not answer. Not willing to refund the first night they just said sorry and they we would have canceled reservations on the app. If someone would have answered and told us that we would have done it. We even called Holiday inn 800 number customer service and they would not reach anyone either. I also believe the have a plumbing issue because the bathroom smells like sewage water. Not a well ran Holiday Inn. Extremely disappointed. Breakfast was is not bad only positive.

The hotel was warm, clean, and inviting! The staff from checkin to checkout were very pleasant and helpful. We arrived early to the hotel and they had no problems letting us into our room early. We stayed November 28 through December 7th. Originally we were only set to stay until December 5th but our flight was canceled due to the snow. The staff were more than helpful and even arranged for us to stay in the same room for the two extra days. The hotel is in a perfect location with a bus stop right outside, a train station a quick walk away, and multiple stores surrounding it. As an American in Germany for the first time, I couldn’t have hoped for better. The breakfast was great with options for everyone. The only thing I saw that was odd were stains of the carpet that looked like someone dropped bleach. Other than that our room was perfect! Great water pressure and hot hot water! Already looking forward to staying there again next year!
