Some of the best pub grub about. You don't have to break to bank to enjoy some quality alfresco dining here. Lovely food, friendly staff and a nice calm atmosphere. Plus if the weather isn't great the indoor dining area light and spacious. If you're near govy and your peckish this is the place to go.

Nice pub and nice food. Good choice of beer and very wide range of beverages. We have had many meals there and also many late nights over the years. It is local to where the family is and we always enjoy going to the Cat. The staff is very friendly. The kids love it too. It has a playground at the back. It has a nice large conservatory where you can eat. It has ample car park.

I’m from the American Southwest so saying the the Cat with No tail chicken fajitas are among the best I’ve ever eaten is saying something! First off, whomever the chef made the dish with love. The fact that the pub also has my two favourite beers in Timothy Taylor and Okell’s Bitter, I felt like finding this pub was destiny! Just recently found Okell’s beer and it’s delightful. No surprise the Timothy Taylor (TT) is also popular in the IOM, I’m sure some weird coincidence. Lovely place!

Such a delighted xmas dinner. Good foods, big portion. Such attentive and friendly staffs. I love their mulled wine, too. There is nothing I could complain about the place

Fantastic place to get food and drinks with very friendly staff and fast service at good prices. Went there during the Manx GP as most places didn't either do food or just had a poor menu. Would definitely recommend this place. Carl Gorton Photography

A good working men's pub if you want a game of pool and a good friendly pub this has it all in abundance. Food is great as well.

We had a good time, they have quite an extensive outdoor area with a great playground for the kids.

Not very welcoming or helpful especially after going in day before to check they do gluten free and allow dogs no knowledge of gluten free

Very friendly and accommodating staff and good food with a fairly varied menu. The portion sizes for some meals (such as pizza, onion rings and burgers) are very large so half portions would be a good idea. Even the small fish and chips was a little too much. Good selection of soft, alcoholist and hot drinks and best of all there is a restaurant area that's separate from the bar and has no loud music. The conservatory is a very relaxing place to spend an evening and there is outdoor play equipment for kids. Unfortunately though,, there's no cat at the pub that I know of.

I think it’s gone downhill massively.. me and my partner went there a week ago and he got food poisoning and still isn’t well a week later.. not impressed

Well, well, well where to even start, probably the worst restaurant experience I’ve had ever and I’ve even found a hair in my food at another place, it was bad, beyond bad, we first got to the restaurant at the reservation time we were ignored for about 5-10 minutes, eventually, when we managed to catch staff attention, it was another 5 minutes to even get to our seats, I can understand if you’re busy but purposely ignoring your customers when they are right in front of you is pretty bad. Went they did eventually acknowledge us, we were pointed in the general direction of our table with a dismissive wave before being left to fend for ourselves. When we got sat down we tried to use the app which wasn’t working, we hadn’t been informed of this and there was no information about it on the table and after we spent half an hour trying with none coming over to help or question why we haven’t ordered anything, my friend went up to the counter and ordered our food/drinks. Queue the OVER an hour and an hour wait for cold, undercooked, overcooked, missing food, and wrong food, which is quite impressive, the burger was undercooked and still mooing in a Field, and the chicken platter I shared with a friend, had burned garlic bread, cold unmelted mozzarella sticks, no chorizo croquettes, pale uncooked chips, no cheese on the chicken wings, some awful green leaves clumsily throw on top and the worst part fish…yes fish ON a chicken platter somehow the kitchen had put fish goujons on our plate not chicken goujons not impressed. But the fun doesn’t stop there! Our desserts were another hour late, and the wrong ones, we ordered the churros and cheesecake, and we got the churro! but no cheesecake and was given a tiny brownie that was not worth the wait. Our alcoholic drinks were nice but they forgot our regular drinks which we already pay for. Overall we spent well over £100 and got nothing, When we complained about the food, nothing was done, no apology, no concern, no refund and then ignored again. In the end, I don’t recommend this place I would give it 0/5 stars if I could, nothing about it was redeemable

After a (very hilly) walk from Douglas I was happy to see this friendly, cosy, traditional pub greeting me. Reminded me of many gastro-type pubs but with much more of a personal touch. My steak and ale pie, a grand old school fixture on a pub menu, went down very well; clearly locally sourced and home made.

Great family friendly pub. Booked table for 15 people and we prebooked our meals. All meals served together, piling hot and delicious. Staff very polite and helpful. Would highly recommended

Excellent food and drinks whenever I go. Always prompt with service and polite. Only issue is trying to hit a table at times I'd very difficult and regulars often crowd out the side room with the pool tables.

Nice local pub, food is always good here and so is the service, just wish they took booking during TT and MGP weeks

Great and extensive menu with all food cooked and presented to perfection. Spacious and peaceful dining area with licensed bar. A great place for a superb value meal out in great location just off the TT Course.

Probably one of the neatest and best beer gardens on the island with plenty of space and tables. Decent food at decent prices and efficient staff. Child friendly with a play area. Popular and busy at tea time but gets quieter later in the evening.

Lovely ambience, great views, playground outside but it was raining and we'd left the children at home so didn't check it out. Good ales and pleasant bar staff. Looking forward to another visit in the sun for some food.

We brought my Mum here on a number of occasions last week. Every member of the team were fantastic. The food was good, great service and really dog friendly too with water and treats given every time we visited. Will definitely be back when we are next visiting the Island. Thank you all

Had an enjoyable Sunday pub lunch in the conservatory. Tried their wood fired pizza and it was great. Burger was also tops! Friendly service and good prices, together with a great outside area, makes this a great choice. We have been a couple times before, and I am sure will be back in the future
