As good as it gets. We've stayed in a lot of hotels over the years, but The Halvard surpasses any other experience we have had. Lucasz and David and all of the wonderful staff ensure that you are catered for beyond expectation. The food is quality, location superb, rooms are a very good size , attractively presented and pristine. If you want a top hotel experience in  Douglas , The Halvard is it. Supreme experience.

The hotel is located on the main promenade, we were pleasantly surprised by the level of cleanliness, the bar in the room is free, the hotel staff is very nice and friendly including a pretty good breakfast, we enjoyed a spectacular view in front of the sea, we watched the tides and low tides every day. Right behind the hotel there is a long boulevard of a variety of shops and restaurants from the best on the island

I’ve stayed twice at hotel halvard in the Halvard suite Once on New Year’s Eve myself son and partner dined in the restaurant everything was delicious and wholesome the cocktails were really nice Great first time there we booked again for my sons 6th birthday staying in the halvard suite again as requested by my son for his birthday. From arrival it was just gorgeous the housekeepers did a special touch to the room can’t thank them enough! My son was over the moon to realise the little extra touch as it was his birthday Nothing is ever to much trouble for staff in hotel halvard. We will be returning again in the near future The place is just out of this world

Had a top floor sea view room. 3 nights of absolutely no sleep. A fault with the window means wind howls through fault and sounds like a large pneumatic drill in room. Reported but got nothing. Didn't offer a different room even after saying we not slept. Dined in the dining room one night. I ordered cheese burger. Came out with lump of unmelted cheddar cheese on top, no crispy onions, dry as a bone.awful. however, they did take off bill. It was unedible with cold chips. They did bring out onions after saying they were missing but again unedible greasy sloppy fried onions, not crispy as stated on menu. Dinner was similar to roadside burger van. won't stay again.

I originally booked a courtyard room but decided to upgrade to a sea view room, we got one on the 2nd floor. We were greeted by the reception staff who told us about a few things like where the restaurant was. On entering our room I was very surprised by the size, it had double aspect windows one to a courtyard the other to a panoramic view of Douglas bay. The room itself was of superior quality, mood lighting to bedroom and bathroom, a sofa in the window, 2 armchairs facing the TV. Complimentary soft drinks, crisps and chocolate in the fridge, even a corkscrew next to the kettle. There was even 2 dressing gowns and slippers in the wardrobe. The breakfast was included as was cereals and continental breakfast and full hot breakfasts. You can also book an evening meal in their restaurant and they have a bar for drinks. Excellent friendly service from all the staff too. Brilliant location also close to shops, bars and restaurants. Will definitely be booking here again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great staff and service. Pete was the best. Accommodating and bending over backwards to take care of our family’s every need. Only issue was on the rare days when the temperature was a bit hot and the air was humid, there was NO Air Conditioning. They didn’t tell us they had none but made excuses for how it wasn’t “working properly”. Bad form. Just admit you don’t have it cuz for 330 days of the year you don’t need it but don’t make up stories for how it’s not working. Overall a good hotel at a great location and warm inviting staff.

We stayed for 3 nights at The Halvard Hotel - a lovely, boutique hotel on the Douglas Bay seafront. This Art Deco hotel is stylish, very clean and our room was very nice, quiet, with a free in room bar and lots of toiletries which are replenished daily, plenty of fluffy towels and a powerful, hot shower. The breakfast is delicious with a range of good options and very generous. The staff are Excellent with high standards - Lucas and the team were great and made us feel very welcome! The room was stylish, comfortable, generous in size, free in room bar and good selection of teas, coffees. Very powerful shower and nice toiletries and fluffy towels. We had a nice, quiet room (room 305). Everything was very clean as well (v important for me).

Really enjoyed our stay in a stylish and very comfortable room (junior suite) with fabulous views. Generous and tasty breakfast, with lovely staff who were really attentive and helpful. Great location on the front. The only drawback is lack of hotel parking - we were directed to a nearby public car park which was fine but meant us having to go and pay at 8am every morning. Would be good to do this through the hotel as a one off payment to avoid daily trips there.

Just had a very disappointing stay at The Halvard Hotel. We were given room 103 when we checked in. The room was right next to the lift and it was very noisy as the lift was being used. We asked to be moved and the receptionist was very helpful and changed our room to 204. After being out all day we came back at night ready for a good nights sleep. This was absolutely impossible as the music from the Quids Inn pub together with shouting from the people drinking in there went on until the very early hours. The bed also wasn’t the most comfortable in the world either which didn’t help. We were also then woken up by the people staying in the room next door as I think the walls are constructed out of very thin paper and you could hear everything they were doing, including a pretty poor “performance” in the morning 🤢 On a positive note the shower in the morning was really powerful with plenty of hot water and nice complimentary shower gel, shampoo and body cream. The complimentary drinks and snacks in the mini-bar was also a nice touch. Lastly the breakfast was ok, not amazing but not the worst breakfast in the world, just average. Unfortunately I don’t think I’d stay there again as I expect a bit more quality when paying over 140 quid per night for a room!

Had a short break in Douglas. This hotel did not disappoint. Booked the suite with the sea view and was exceptionally nice. A bottle of fizz was waiting on our arrival. The room had everything you needed and was all complimentary. The staff were very friendly and helpful, would definitely stay again and recommend..

Everything about the Halvard is perfection!! the rooms are beautiful, the bed is comfy, great shower, perfect location, and the staff is amazing! Lucas (the manager I believe) especially seemed to go to any length to make our stay lovely. Thank you!!

We booked the suite room, View was amazing. Frankie from reception desk was amazing and helped us to guide planning the trip in Isle of Man . She even helped getting my jacket washed when hot chocolate accidentally fell over on it. Lucas helped with smiling face -excellent breakfast every morning. Overall my stay was excellent and had a wonderful time
