Magical evening watching the Wizard of Oz, my 7 year old son loved every minute of it, he couldn't stop smiling. The theatre itself is an impressive building retaining its original features.

Had a fascinating back stage tour, the funds from which go directly to the restoration fund. Superb chandeliers have been purchased from the previous proceeds. An excellent tour lasting over 2 hours gets you from under the stage (where all the Various trapdoors etc are explained), into the auditorium, right up to the Highest seating area and beyond, to the film projection rooms and equipment from its use as an early cinema. Such a stunning theatre that has been restored to its Victorian opulence. I have hearing loss yet the guide was so clear I could hear every word. Don't miss this Saturday morning experience.

The Theater is small and like Leeds and York opera houses needs some acceptance of that when watching a performance. However take the backstage tour and not only will you have a fascinating trip into restoring a Victorian theatre, the workings of a real theatre but you will also be helping to keep this lovely building alive. Lots of interesting things to see not only backstage but also the reel-to-reel projectors of Saturday morning cinema. Two hours of interest to keep you entertained on a wet day. Not suitable all the way around for the less able as some areas have steep stairs.

Beautiful theatre well worth visiting. I was blown away by the beautiful and plush seating, much better than a lot of theatres I've been in lately. Lovely embroidered seat numbers.

We saw a show at the Gaiety Theatre and also did one of their Saturday morning tours. The tours last two and a half hours. This theatre is 123 years old. It was designed by Frank Matcham in the shell of a previous buildings. The building went through a ten year renovation from 1990 and reopened for its 100th Birthday. Carpets were removed from an original design by the orginal manufacturer in Scotland. The wallpaper was remade locally costing £200 a roll. I would highly recommend the tour. There are a lot of stairs to climb below the stage and up to the gods.

Lovely old theatre, good range of shows but the seating is very uncomfortable now, needs a refit inside. Not accessible for wheelchair users.

The show was very good, sadly we did not have the best view and couldn't see the whole stage but that is not the theaters fault, we will choose seats more carefully in future. Unfortunately there was a rather unpleasant sewage type smell lingering about which was slightly off putting. The theatre though is lovely.

We went to a local play while on holiday. You must go to see this magnificent building during your visit to Isle of Man check out what's on before you arrive. It's stunning inside.
