Professor Andrew and Coach Chris are Amazing Brazilian Jiu-jitsu instructors! My 5-year old daughter and I train here when we come down from San Diego to visit family. If you are looking for a positive environment that encourages your child to become a humble, confident, physically & mentally strong individual, then this is the place for your child! My daughter always looks forward towards training here and the quality of technique instruction and feedback is something I thoroughly enjoy when I am personally training in their program. My son was a student of Coach Chris when he was teaching in Whittier. I have never met a more humble individual who was willing to go out of his way to make sure the kids where not only learning martial arts but life lessons. My son has moved on to a different sport but he still talks about Coach Chris!! Thank you for teaching my son to be the best version of himself he could be!!! Coach Chris and his staff are about building people up and not just "knocking them down". ☺

I have 3 children who attend Gracie Ibarra in Downey. It's the best place you can go! My kids have learned so much not to mention discipline and better focus. Coach Chris is awesome and the rest of the coaches are pretty cool.

I seldom write reviews, however I felt compelled to share my opinion about Gracie Barra Downey. The facility and coaches are seriously top-notch! It's a fun, clean and welcoming environment. Chris Guzman is beyond helpful and his dedication to its members is apparent in his teaching and coaching! I HIGHLY recommend Gracie Barra Downey. Whether you're new to the Jiu-Jitsu game or a skilled competitor, it's a great place to have fun and learn. Two thumbs up!

GB Downey is special…they creates an incredible culture that encourages kids to grow in the sport improving their discipline and respect in each other…my 8 years old son just changed his white belt to gray .I’m so proud of his own …As a Brazilian mom I really recommend GB Downey

I have trained at Gracie Barra Downey several times and I have to say coach Chris is a great instructor and ensures that this academy has a friendly environment. I felt very welcome every time I trained there. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who is in the area.

This is the best school! Coach Chris and Professor Andrew are top notch instructors that take the time to explain the movements. This is a very family oriented school, not only do I train here but my 7 year old does as well. All of the coaches get my thumbs up!👍
