Fun, inventive pizza place with a great cocktail menu. We liked that they were trying something a bit different. Lots of non traditional fusion options. Might have been helpful to have a more traditional Margherita style for people who don't like their pizza messed around with but no complaints at all on quality and service was great.

Unreal! A very welcome addition to the area 10/10. The bar is laid out lovely and cosy for a few pints and top class pizzas. Very unusual toppings, not your typical pizzas which is refreshing. Very nice decor inside, with a larger more modern seating area in the restaurant out the back. We love getting takeaways from here and can’t wait to they open again after this virus pandemic is over!

This could've been 5 stars. The pizzas were excellent, thin crispy crust lots of flavour. I had the charcuterie, my girlfriend had the pulled pork. Not overly filling which was good (I could probably have eaten two). Didn't have any starters. Nice choice of dips for your crusts. 4 stars because I ordered a chocolate milkshake after the meal. It was €4 on the menu I think (although on the bill it was €3.50). Although it was tasty, it was pretty underwhelming for that price. Quite small and it came in a plastic cup with plastic straw which was disappointing. When I compare it to the likes of an Eddie Rocket's malt it's not even close. I don't wanna focus on the negative - it was great great pizza and well worth a detour of you're in the vicinity.

Visited 18/03/2022. Really great place, clearly popular in the area as it was very busy. Great cocktail menu. Nice selection of pizzas including a few different vegetarian options. I had the Caprese pizza which was tasty, though very very greasy. Would happily return.

Amazing pizza's and great value! I think I spent about €15 on the pizza. Money well spent. One of our waitresses were very rude and we overheard her talking about us to other staff but everyone else seemed nice. The place has a nice vibe and well worth a visit!

My wife and I spent the night here on the 9th of June with perfect weather,, we paid 220 euros for 1 night breakfast included, the room and bathroom looked very new and modern, it's a small village anyway but was very close to every thing. We had dinner here, share platter to start with pizza and garlic bread as the main it was a nice pizza (I've had better for less price) the staff were very friendly and helpful and could not do enough for you, the bar can be very lively sometimes with live music well worth a stop for a pint,

If I'm honest, this was a disappointing experience. I had high expectations but these were definitely not met. When we arrived we were told to have a drink at the bar while we wait for a table - no time expectation was given. After a 20/30 min wait, we got a table. Our orders were taken and received promptly. Our first order of drinks were lovely, but the second were not so great. The pizza itself was also a bit of a letdown. I ordered the 4 cheese sourdough pizza and it was far too rich (perhaps this is just my personal preference). All in all, an OK night out but after hearing such great things, I expected more.

I have never put a review for anything in my life but I feel that I just have to as I'm still in disbelief at how myself and my partners night went tonight. I read about your place online and was excited to spend some time in the advertised 'cocktail bar'. We were firstly greeted by a lovely girl and she specifically choose a lovely table for us to sit at for drinks as discussed. My partner was served his drink and I was excited to get mine. We then were abruptly approached by a member of staff to tell us we can't sit there as 'there was a large waiting list and we can't just have cocktails' we then were moved to the loud pub at the front and our buzz of a date night was just dead in the water. We awkwardly sat waiting on my cocktail and just felt that the whole issue was dealt with so poorly. We moved and had our drink outside in the cold as we wouldn't have ordered fansy cocktails if we knew we couldn't sit in the cocktail bar? I also had mentioned to the unprofessional blonde girl who asked us to move that if needs be we would order food but it was dead obvious that for some reason this was not possible. We were just so surprised by this and to our disbelief when my partner went to pay for the bill there was no one at the table we were at. So what really was the issue? We would have sat and had multiple cocktails (for the allocated 1hour 45mins or would work something out until a booking came? Spending just as much if not more. Absolutely gutted, we were that annoyed we just came home and our night was cut short. Not the way to treat people in my opinion!!

Pizzas, drinks and starters are delicious. We always get the jack Daniels and coke pulled pork pizza - elite!

We stayed here and ate here, what a great experience! Traveling through the area and on vacation in Ireland, we were hesitant to have pizza for dinner as it’s not necessarily unique to the local cuisine, which we try to eat whenever we travel. What a great decision we made to chose to eat here for dinner! The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was cool and inviting. We got the house salad, the Piri Piri Chicken pizza and the Special pizza, which was sausage and spicy vodka sauce, yum! We enjoyed a drink at the pub before heading to bed. Aside from the restaurant, the room was cozy and the breakfast was delicious. Lovely staff all around as well.

Great atmosphere, speedy and friendly service. My only criticism would be that the crust/cornicione is way too flat and not puffed up and airy like it should be. From what I could see from the open kitchen (and their website + youtube channnel) they roll the bases instead of hand shaping them. I guess it's hard to find/train skilled staff these days!

We had some Pizzas here & they were really lovely! They literally came within 5 minutes of ordering & they were very tasty 😊 The place itself was really cosy and relaxing as there was a real log burner over beside the bar it was nice. Bar man was friendly & helpful! Actually all staff were friendly. Would recommend a visit. We didn't stay here so I couldn't comment on this...

We had the piri piri chicken pizza and one sour cream with truffles. The two of them were absolutely fantastic. The dough was perfect and fresh. Good service as well. Absolutely recommended.

We came to Downings hoping to try a few different restaurants. However, over four nights, we couldn’t resist two trips to the Goose and Gander. Beautifully decorated throughout with a brilliant atmosphere and friendly staff, we really enjoyed both our trips here. We sampled an array of great cocktails, had fully loaded Nachos and the best garlic bread I’ve ever had. The pizzas are perfectly cooked and come with a huge selection of interesting toppings, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. We cannot wait for our next visit

Great Pizza. We had 4 different pizzas and all lovely. Great staff. Busy busy here so prepare for maybe a little wait but we'll worth it.

Stayed here with my wife for a night. I stay in various hotels and B&B when travelling around doing some work and always like to leave an honest review weather it’s good or bad. On this occasion firstly it’s a beautiful part of Ireland with some beautiful views from the B&B. The staff are the first to give you First impressions of a place and they were just so friendly and chatty making you feel so welcome and can’t do enough for you. The room was absolutely spotless,and spacious with some nice complementary snacks and soft drinks on the table with a small jar of ice.(nice touch) bathroom had a big shower and again spotless. Housekeeping is top class well done. Bed was unbelievably comfortable. We had pizza in the restaurant again very nice if that’s what your into, for me I’d have liked to see abit more maybe get into light bar food but my wife loved it. Cozy bar and again it’s spotlessly clean with good bar staff and there was nice live music that night. The breakfast the following morning was as good I’ve seen in a lot of places they have a choice for everyone and 10/10. guinness soda bread and smoked salmon on top is what my wife had with some boiled egg while I had the full Irish again beautiful. €220 for the night with breakfast included, a slight bit on the pricy side but please don’t let that put anyone off as that’s about as much fault I could find on anything there and that’s my honest opinion but if I was to go there again to be honest I’d prob pay the €220 again as it was just so good. If the manager or owner reads this please complement your staff as they are excellent in their field and do so much for your business. Well done keep up the great work..

The pizzas here are utterly gorgeous, the bases were perfect, not too thin or too thick. We had the nachos between two to start which was just right, with a bit of a kick. Cocktail selection is extensive and we'd highly recommend the pisco sour! Service was really quick and the staff were all pleasant.

A typycal pub in Ireland very busy on the day we attended. The cocktails looked amazing but expensive in my opinion. Pizzas were fine, we really liked the Hi Pesto on which I recommend. We couldn't get a seat because it really packed. That shows it is very popular so I recommend it

Pizza was fresh and delicious. Good combo of flavours. Nice to be able to have sriracha for dipping as we enjoy a bit of heat. Dessert was 👌

Highly recommend visiting here if you're in downings bay/donegal. Service was excellent. It took a few minutes to get a seat because it was extremely busy but once we were seated the waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable, the food arrived within 5 minutes of ordering, even before the drinks arrived! Highly recommend the peri peri chicken firebread. Whiskey sour and zombie cocktails were also delicious. 5 stars.

Cannot recommend Goose & Gander highly enough. Went twice in one week. Wow!! Tasty variety of pizzas, toppings and sides all served by friendly attentive young staff. Stylish and comfortable restaurant. Kind of wine bar/night club vibe for all ages. We'll definitely be back.

Delightful. Party of 15? Everybody was served hot food in a timely manner. good staff. Food was tasty. So many types of pizza so many different items served. We left stuffed. Worth another visit.

Absolutely outstanding food. One of the best pizzas either of us had ever eaten. We got to sample real variety by selecting both the sirloin steak firebread, which has a peppered sauce base rather than tomato, topped with slow cooked shredded steak and mushroom and the vegetarian Anti Pasti pizza, along with garlic bread. Not to mention the totally gorgeous pint of extra creamy Guinness and delightful desserts 😍 Photos don't come close to really highlighting or doing justice to the food. Definitely recommend you take time to experience this restaurant if you're visiting the Downings area of Donegal. Waiting staff were also really friendly and helpful.

Not many options in this town. G&G was incredibly busy so my expectations were low. The food was fairly good although it arrived so quickly it definitely made me wonder how pre-prepared the food actually is. The restaurant was really noisy with families and large groups of people shouting to be heard. The bar is really nice.

Pizza was amazing. Very unique and delicious toppings. If you are looking authentic Italian pizza in Ireland, here it is. Also great bar with chilled atmosphere.
