👍 Beautiful views. We visited on a Friday during their quieter times, which was great for us as we could fully enjoy the restaurant as first time visitors. We were told they get extremely busy over weekends and bookings are essential. There is plenty of seating available inside and outside. This place... Beautiful views. We visited on a Friday during their quieter times, which was great for us as we could fully enjoy the restaurant as first time visitors. We were told they get extremely busy over weekends and bookings are essential. There is plenty of seating available inside and outside. This place has the biggest play area I have seen at a restaurant (indoor and outdoor), therefore it is perfect for families. There is also a section with goats and pigs which kids will love. Our little one truly enjoyed herself and keeps asking to go back. Our waiter was friendly and very accommodating. We ordered burgers and wraps. The burgers were a bit dry and the onion rings a bit too oily, however the wraps were delicious. Our coffee came very hot just as we like it. This restaurant is definitely worth the visit.

Horrid place don't know how this place got such good reviews. We had booked a table with shade outside, we were given a table with no shade. If there is load shedding there is a generator that sounds like it is powering the whole of Wellington, deafening all in the outside areas. We asked to move to a table with shade. Service was ridiculously slow. We ordered a chocolate milkshake, I think it was shown the chocolate rather than it being added, as was bland and without any real chocolate flavour. We ordered a kiddies cheese toastie with shoestring fries. Photo in this review is their attempt two. Attempt one came with cold fries and the cheese toastie should have been re-named Charcoal Cheese Toastie as was burnt to a crisp, yet still served. Attempt two photo here had hot chips that were not cooked and the toastie now resembled a cheese sandwich as was not really toasted. The best however was our order of their 'Local olive medley served with baked olive oil crostini' - the crostini were crackers with no crostini in sight. Our other orders were a salad and a falafel wrap which whilst were edible were not a reason to travel from Cape Town or even from Wellington for. The kiddies playground outside area resembled a 1980's (I am being generous here) playground and was mostly in the sun (maybe that's where they made the toastie one). The inside area was better. Overall a depressing and woeful experience. If you haven't eaten for a few days I would still recommend driving past ...

In March 2021 I visited the Stone Kitchen at Dunstone for a kids' birthday party and as I hadn't been at Dunstone for quite a while I did not know what to expect. When we arrived I was pleasantly surprised. The estate is beautiful, they have a large restaurant with inside and outside seating areas. The outside seating is scattered around under the trees, and there is also a big playground for the kids, as well as a indoors play area, making this a perfect place for families to go on sunny or rainy days. So I could see why our friends chose Dunstone for their sons birthday - it's a great option for kids, and as all the parents joined were also there, our friends ordered some cheese and meat platters. The staff however did seem to be a bit overwhelmed - we were a large group, though not that big to cause confusion, but we still enjoyed ourselves. I also ended up doing a wine tasting - I am not sure if it is normal practice there, but I was just handed my wines with no explanation from the waiter (notes on the wines were provided) which I did not like. If you are looking for a place to do a wine tasting, eat something and have your children entertained, this is a good option.

I was there a few times and will definitely go again. Excellent service and food. It was windy outside and as soon as a table were available inside the waiter took us in. . We had a lovely mothersday with the family.

What a beautiful setting, this wine farm was recommended by friends who said it has a children's play area. The children enjoyed it and the staff was very friendly. The wine tasting was nice and not to expensive. I can really recommend this place if you have children and want to enjoy some grown-up time.

We decided especially on The Stone Kitchen for brunch/tea time due to their great kids area. Definitely kids friendly, from as young as a year. They have an indoor play area too. Their outdoor area has a few different “areas” with sand and jungle gyms, as well as swings and a trampoline. Their food is delicious! Would recommend their grilled chicken wrap and their coffees. Their wine selection is small yet satisfactory with delicious Dunstone wines. Their kids menu is superb and has a great variety for each age group. I would suggest making a booking beforehand as they get busy on holiday days and over the weekends.

An awesome family oriented restaurant with an indoor and outdoor kids play area which makes it perfect for all seasons. The restaurant also has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options but seeing that it wasn’t raining, we chose to sit outside under the guava trees! Their food portions are very generous and well-priced, not to mention delicious! Be warned though, the section of gravel road which leads to the entrance is quite bumpy at the moment due to the heavy rains.

Lovely dishes at reasonable price! Their pork ribs and chicken snitzels are legendary. Beautiful setting, family friendly and function ready.

Great place for kids - mud kitchen, goats, jungle gym, guava orchards and trampoline outside as well as indoor play area including a lego table. Attention is given to the little things which make all the difference. They brought the kids food out first, so it could cool down enough to eat by the time our food arrived. The chef specially made cheese sauce for me even though it wasn't on the menu, just because it was my preference. The food was great, and really good value for money too. Thanks Stone Kitchen - loved the experience!

Had breakfast here with friends recently. WOW!!! What a hidden little gem! Picturesque setting. Good quality food. Friendly, efficient service. Got hit with load shedding while we were here, but not even that could slow them down.
