Think twice before handing your money over! We had to cancel due to covid restrictions, and did so within the terms of Ranelagh’s own cancellation policy. Ranelagh now refuses to honour this, and instead makes up fictions about us cancelling inside a week, which is clearly not the case (we cancelled on a Sunday, for a stay commencing the following Sunday for two nights. One weeks notice for the first night, more than a week for the second.). They debited a full amount for two nights stay, with the booking only in place for two days prior to needing to be cancelled. They pocketed $500 for providing precisely nothing, disregard and deliberately misinterpret their own policy, and refuse to refund a cent. Appalling conduct. Stay well clear!

This house was built in 1875, it’s beautiful as I hope that you can see by the photos. It has a separate house for your pets and bedding. There is a big back and front yard with a swimming pool and tennis court to enjoy. Catering: you have the full use of the kitchen so you can cook for yourself and enjoy the kitchen and the very large table plus so much more. This is a B & B so breakfast is provided, you just have to get it. The beds are beautiful to sleep in, everything is well done. There is also a laundry for you to use. Relax in the lounge area with a fireplace and enjoy the warmth from the fireplace. There is a library if you would like something to read or go into the Billiards room and enjoy it. If you want a private bathroom, book the main bedroom. The hosts are lovely and very helpful. This place is located 2 Bourke street, so give them a go.

Such a beautiful stay! We stayed for two nights and spent the afternoons swimming in the pool relaxing. It was great that our little puppy could stay in our room with us and had big area to run around outside. Peter the owner was lovely and so helpful! Definitely recommending this place to my friends and family.

Pictures need updating as the place is currently not in the best condition. It was great to have our dog stay here with us. Breakfast was not replenished but once brought to the attention of housekeeping she was onto it and brought some bread and milk. I was told that the washing machine wasn't working and had to go to a lauromat and waste two hours. The place would benefit with a staff member living onsite due to so many different families occupying the premises at any one time. Overall I expected better was was okay with what I got.

Nice old rooms. Hot water, pool, different areas for casual seating. Nice big kitchen. Not too bad. FYI only dogs under 10kg. No pics sorry

The room itself was good and our pets had enough space to be comfortable within the room. Although it did not have fresh toiletries (e.g. soap). The service was not good. The room wasn't ready for 2pm check-in, it was ready at 3.15pm. After driving a whole day from Broken Hill to get there for check-in to rest... We were not very happy with the room not being ready. They cleaned the fridge when we went out for a late lunch/dinner around 4pm, so they threw out some of our food. Breakfast selection is alright with green or black tea, coffee available, bread, butter & peanut butter. Plus there was some dry muesli. The sandwich press doesn't work and I couldn't figure out how to get water from the fridge water/ice maker.

We got ripped of by a different B&B in Dubbo and had to ring around with minimal notice or research. Peter, the owner of Ranelagh, was just a great bloke who couldn’t do enough to help us out. We got a nice price on a nice room and arrived with no real clue about what to expect. Thankfully, we weren’t disappointed. You can’t possibly moan about any chips, dings and the odd cobweb, because this place is a massive, historic home with patina and character, laid out in the sprawling rabbit warren fashion true to its time. It’s clean, safe and marvellously furnished and decorated, which brought a “wow” to my face on every turn. My only suggestion to anyone in the area is.... bring mozzie coils.

Not at all as advertised. Breakfast consisted of cereal, milk, bread and margarine spread. Internet did not work until 8.00pm, room door would not lock, only shower gel in ensuite, front entrance covered in leaves, cobwebs and rotten fruit from a nearby peach tree. One of the worst places we have ever stayed.

Just Terrible . What a disappointment looking forward to a bit of luxury for the extended family. The house is in disrepair and needs lot's of work. Bed in Master room closest to bathroom is a disgrace. Shower over bath is dreadful. paint and wallpaper flaking off walls, Not enough seating. Counted 3 forks in cutlery draw, house keeper bough some in from her own home. Chairs worn out. Light bulbs not working. Tennis court only one tennis racquet. No fire wood for open fires only electric heaters in bedroom. Blinds and net curtains torn. Advertising is false as the furniture is not what is in the rooms. Stove doesn't work. Garden had rotten grapefruit laying on ground. Grass overgrown, snakes will enjoy come summer. Just don't expect a nice comfortable stay.

Lovely old Home but in need of major repair, not as described and photos very old online and does not represent the current state of the property. When we arrived there was confusion over the booking and I repeatedly had to explain that I had booked two weeks previously (they had already taken my payment 3 days prior), the side entry had painters tape and drop sheets everywhere, the area for visitors cars had been taken up by a truck and trailer so I had to park down the driveway on the grass. I was told the lock on the room was not working but never mind nothing should go missing, the room had a musty smell and the bathroom had such a bad smell coming from the drains. The owner who was staying there with friends came to look at the lock and his dog came in and pee'd on the chair next to the vanity and casually walked out, the lock could not be fixed, the wall paper freezes had seen better days with half of them ripped, there was massive spider webs in the corners of the room and in the centre light, plaster was peeling of the walls and the smaller beds were rusty and mattresses as hard as rocks. The noise from people playing billards and banging doors across the hall was so loud and went on until after 11:00pm, both my daughter and I decided between the dust, smelly drains and noise we would get a better sleep in the car so we left at 1:00am. A totally bad experience.

What a beautiful house great surroundings and great for pets . We had the pleasure to stay in this beautiful house for 2 nights with our little dog and absolutely loved it. We needed to be close to the hospital and the person on the phone was so friendly and happy to help us out so late at night when we needed a place to stay. It would of been lovely to have a guest book to sign, other than that it was awesome We will be back 😊🙏🏻
