We were at Barberstown Castle to celebrate a wedding. The lay out of the castle was lovely and to add to the experience they had all their Christmas decorations up and Christmas trees 🎄. The food was tasty and there was plenty of it on the day of the wedding. The manager and waiters couldn't do enough for you to attend to your every need & whim. The rooms were fantastic comfortable and clean top class rooms warm and beautifully laid out. I highly recommend Barberstown Castle, great place lovely Gardens and a nice place to stay.

We really enjoyed our stay in Barberstown Castle. The staff were welcoming and very accommodating with our two dogs. Such a nice treat to be able to bring the dogs for a night away. The dog bed was beautiful, fit for a king! The food was lovely, especially the breakfast. Thank you to the staff for such a lovely dog friendly experience.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch on the terrace and we literally fell in love with this amazing venue. We decided to come back for diner after meeting Charlie who made our experience delightful. The quality of the food was outstanding. If you're looking for fantastic french cuisine look no further. We had an incredible experience on every level.

What a gem of a hotel so close to Dublin. Could not fault one aspect of our experience there. Exceptional service from well trained pleasant staff. They could not have been more helpful and courteous. The service was seamless. Food was fab. Room was beautiful. Grounds so well maintained. Can't wait to return.

Had afternoon tea here a few months back for my birthday, we have had afternoon in a few hotels and this by far was the best we have had. From the food to the staff I could not fault any of it. There was a lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

We stumbled upon this gem while searching for a last minute romantic getaway. The location, close to Kildare Village Shopping Outlet, was an added bonus. From the minute we booked, we were being looked after with a call to arrange our evening meal and breakfast. The hotel, grounds and location are impressive on arrival and the welcome from the staff was super. Really wonderful customer service!! We checked into a junior suite with a four poster bed and they had left a special anniversary treat for us! We couldn't have felt more welcome in the bar and dining area and we enjoyed a delicious meal. The newly refurbished restaurant and reception areas are top class. The breakfast was a really high standard with a delicious Full Irish (which of course can be a greasy option but this was kept as clean and light as a Full Irish can be). The fresh fruit and pastry options were of a really high standard - the scones were perfection! This is a real 'one to watch' in this country house market. We will be hearing Barberstown Castle mentioned with the Best in Ireland in the near future. If we could go back and get married again...this would definitely be our choice!!

From our first trip to Barberstown Castle, we knew that this would be the perfect venue for our wedding and we weren't disappointed. The whole team were so attentive from the start and on the day itself, they really went above and beyond. All of our guests (the majority of whom travelled to Ireland for the occasion) were very impressed both with the venue (from the hotel bedrooms to the venue space and outdoor setting) and in particular, the staff. The food was also fantastic and was complimented by all our guests. A special thank you to Annie, Olivia, Richard and Ted - who made all of our guests feel really at home, which helped create a super atmosphere on the day!

This place is amazing! I would have taken more photos but we just had the loveliest time. The food is fantastic but the service is second to none. The hotel was booked out due to a wedding and Punchestown but you wouldn't have known because everything was managed so perfectly. The staff made us feel like we were the only guests and they really went above and beyond. We'll definitely be back!

Spent a lovely afternoon enjoying afternoon tea with my Mum and my daughter. Staff were so lovely and so helpful and the food was delicious with great portions. A very special thank you to the Amy’s for making our Amy feel so welcome and to the lovely member of staff who took a photo of us all together (I’m sorry I didn’t get their name)

We really enjoyed our short stay. Lovely room. Very nice food. Great bar! Our only gripe is that, yes, Barberstown is dog-friendly (great for a place such as this), but it's really frustrating searching the grounds for a bin to put pooh in. I understand that dog-pooh bins are due to be installed, but in the meantime, ANY bin would have done! All said, it's very nice.

I got married at Barberstown in September of this year. We had about 50 people come from the United States. From the moment we arrived, the entire experience was magical. The staff was incredibly helpful, attentive, and kind. The event spaces were impeccable and food was incredible. We haven’t stopped hearing from guests how much they enjoyed the wedding. Thank you, Barberstown!

Was treated to a surprise night away and was delighted to find out it was in Barberstown Castle. The bedroom was so beautiful and airy and the 4 poster bed was a beautiful touch to an already magical room. I have never slept so soundly. Such a comfortable bed. Dinner was delicious and staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast the next morning was delicious also and a great choice of hot and cold. The grounds are well kept and beautiful to walk through. Would have loved to stay longer. Definitely can't wait to come back x

No hot water in the bathroom. We were told by the staff the room is very old so it’s normal not to have hot water available. A poorly insulated door allowed smoke into our room from the hall due to old fireplaces in the building. Staff said not to worry about the smoke and it’s normal to have smoke all around. Cold shower and open windows aren’t ideal for winter stay. Paid full price but got a smaller room than shown on the website. Not great value considering the price. Good breakfast.

Was very busy when we stayed. There was nowhere to sit to have a drink I did ask at reception I was told we could sit on high stools at bar if there was any. I told girl it was freezing in the bar because the door was wide open to the back garden she said they might close it if you ask them. We had a table booked for dinner and it was on high stools in the bar it was so cold we cancelled it. We drove few min down the road to Celbridge to place called The Village inn great food very warm and live music.

We stayed in Barberstown Castle on Sat 23th Sept 2023. We got the DBB and prosecco deal for one night and used our "Blue Book" gift vouchers. A beautiful location, but to be fair, the rooms need a bit of TLC, fill settlement cracks and a bit of modernisation (Room 9) On the positive all the staff were excellent and friendly, and a nice touch was some free nibbles (chips and cocktail sausages) during the IRE v SA rugby game in the bar area. Breakfast was ok by buffet with a nice choice of fruit salad and pastries but only basic tea/coffee. Nice for checkout being 12 noon. Would I stay again? Unsure unless a refurb completed in all bedrooms.

It's a lovely place to visit. I have been a few times with friends and always happy about the lovely location, their food, their service, and professionality. I have recommended it to friends and their expectations have never been disappointed.

We had a fabulous stay at Barberstown over Christmas and we were very grateful to Ted, Richard, Gareth and everyone who worked during the holiday to provide us with a special Christmas experience. From the very personal welcome by Ted and reception on arrival on Christmas Eve, the staff attending, restaurant manager and all supporting staff across the board were exceptional as usual. Needless to say Christmas lunch was very special. Overall it was as 6 star service from start to finish. The personal attention and attention to detail, not to mention the excellent food throughout makes you want to revisit again and again.

This is another excellent location and highly recommended. Good food and good service by well trained and responsive team who care. Do book as it is busy even for food.

We recently had a Sunday lunch in Barberstown and I can't recommend it enough. Firstly the staff were very accommodating when they had limited availability as we rang with little notice. They were also able to accommodate us by adding an additional person even more last minute. Then the staff when we got there were very attentive and just generally very friendly. We got a mini tour when one of the staff noticed us admiring the surroundings. The food was also beautiful, and everyone was very happy with their selections. We had a great day all round and send our thanks for the generosity and kindness shown by the staff. We look forward to the next visit.

Lovely hotel, great lunch and dinner (not so much for breakfast), great staff, great service. A lounge area to have a comfortable drink would be good (only the restaurant area was available when we stayed). Rooms facing the road were a bit noisy once rush hour traffic started. There seems to be differing levels of understanding in relation to dietary requirements (coeliac). Having said that, we plan on going back for another stay, but will be looking for a room in a different part of the hotel and will be more informed about asking staff what's suitable for coeliacs when ordering food.

Had Sunday lunch out with family. Service was good but slow but I can understand why due to all the communions on that day . There was no soup spoons on tables or napkins until a family member asked for them . The waitress serving us was very nice and professional.(Can't remember her name). Soup was brilliant and the main course was too. I find that the portions are too big so unfortunately I couldn't finish everything. Overall staff were very friendly. Well done to the chef's as well for the food as it was excellent. 👌 Hope to be back soon.

Had heard great reviews of the food here, but unfortunately it's not something we experienced. Didn't get off to a great start when my sons napkin was absolutely filthy. The starters were the best part of the meal. We all enjoyed them. The mains were a real disappointment. I had fish and chips, chips were not cold, but weren't hot either. Fish was fine, the battwe was very greasy. My son had steak, which was cooked well but full of gristle and a lot was left on the plate. The other two had chicken burgers which were just shy of being burnt. Desserts were grand. The staff whilst lovely seemed disorganised. The table behind us were raving about their meal so maybe we just had bad luck. We paid the bill as the food was half eaten. Another table close by complained, so we weren't the only ones who weren't happy..

Top class service and fine dining experience. Beautiful castle, rooms and surroundings. The Green Room is a lovely bar off the restaurant. Dinner was top notch. The rhubarb pannacotta was the star for me and the pistachio cake also really good. A great stay and lovely friendly staff.

No tea and coffee facilities in room, so only a drink of water after a 4hour drive. Details were all on website so once phone died we had no details. Nothing in room to advise of facilities. Shower over the bath so couldn’t have a shower. Bed exceptionally hard. Hotel foyer and dining room floor dirty and sticky to walk on. Needed a good clean. Furnishings looked lovely. Hotel is for show not comfort. Staff very friendly and breakfast was nice. Had to complain about noisy guests at 12.30am, phoned desk using phone in room and no one answered. Had to use mobile and phone hotel number. This was our last night in Ireland so booked it as a treat. Wish we had not bothered and saved our money. All show and no comfort. Would not recommend.

I was the wedding photographer for Kelsey & Devon's wedding last month and I would love to return to Barberstown Castle again. We had a first look under the willow trees, followed by an outdoor wedding ceremony and drinks reception in the courtyard. All the photo spots are so accessible meaning the couple weren't gone for hours to have their photo taken. There's a good variation of structured gardens, castle views and meadow vibes. I had a fantastic time photographing the wedding in Barberstown.
