This place is exceptionally good in every way. Staff are so nice and food and drink are fantastic and very reasonable. Highly recommended

Fantastic choice of menu and Fantastic food,great portions for reasonable price. Very welcome and looked after by all staff. Being there New years eve delighted with all. Will definitely be back.

We went back to Friels again today to give it another chance. This time we were very happy with food and service. It was a totally different experience to last time. I got steak and pepper sauce and my husband got cod and chips. The steak was cooked perfectly and really tasty pepper sauce to go with it. The cod was in a batter that was fresh and just fell apart and very tasty. Next dessert we got profiteroles which was just melt in your mouth and lots of fresh cream and chocolate sauce. I would go back again and already recommended to a friend. Now I see what everyone I recommended to me. Staff were very helpful and friendly and a big asset to Friels. Big thanks to the owner who did contact me regarding my negative review and has put my worry's to rest. So I was very excited to go out for dinner for the first time in long time and friels came highly recommended to me. But I'm afraid I was very disappointed in my meal and dessert. I got beef and potatoes and chips and gravy. Really didn't think could go wrong with my meal. But the first bite I took of my meal left me with the roof of my mouth being burnt off me and down my throat. The meal was microwaved either because it is wasn't hot enough or because it was made earlier. Either way it left me with a sore roof of mouth and the chips and meat tasted old or tough and reheated. I was very disappointed in the meal but I gave it second chance and ordered dessert at this point I was very disappointed. I got fresh fruit pavlova and fresh cream. But the fruit was stale the apple was actually soft as been cut so long and the cream tasted more like cream from a can. Very disappointed in paying for a meal that I myself could make better. It really was the worst meal that I have eaten out in long time. I didn't want to make a fuss there and then. But wouldn't like to see anyone else get the same food either, so I am writing this review. I was impressed with the service and if the food improved and wasn't a reheated meal I would think about returning to try the food again.

Called here on a Sunday with my elderly mother. A man met us at the entrance and ran us to a table . This chap kept the girls who were served under pressure while we were there. Between entering and exiting the restaurant we made it in under 30mins. Not ideal when you take your mother out for Sunday lunch. No fault of the young ladies serving but the man over seeing was loud and keeping the girls under pressure. We won't back !

We have had some lovely evenings in Friel’s. The atmosphere, food and staff (especially Rosanna) were exceptional. Our son is a wheelchair user and every effort was made to accommodate us which is always appreciated. Thank you and we’ll be back 🏆

Lovely pub. Great location and lots of parking. Service was not too bad but could have been more upselling of items on the menu and offering of another drink. No conversation at all. The bruschetta was not traditional - too much cheese. Nice atmosphere and very spacious.
