Absolutely amazing tour. Best tour I’ve been on in Dublin. It’s short but sweet. 25mins of superb acting and storytelling. Our guide Emma was funny, entertaining and very talented. I was grinning the whole way through and I was sad when it was over. The rooms themselves are interactive with old machines like the grip strength measure which you can try out yourself. All in all would highly recommend to everyone

If you love History and you love Ireland, together or separately, then you need to pay for a visit and tour of The Little Museum of Dublin! In 29 minutes you will get a most informative and fun history lesson of Ireland. Amanda, our tour guide today, is someone who truly loves her job and her city! I could not have asked for a better tour😄

An old and charming Georgian style house across Stephan's green. Tickets are 10€ for adults, guided tours are free and take half an hour but you can stay in the museum beforre/after. The house has a few rooms full of nick-nacks, photos, pictures, statues, ect. and all of them had been donated to the museum. Guided tours are fun and definitely recommend it! You will hear some interesting stories about Dublin and the staff is just great!

This is indeed a museum on a smaller scale. But, it is small but mighty. The contents were all donated by the people of Dublin, according to the founder. This means that every piece came with a story. If you visit here, it may be beneficial if you get a tour to hear some of these fascinating stories. It also has a room that is dedicated to U2. One of the better visits in Dublin.

I had a great time on the tour in this museum! Lots of interesting facts about the history of Dublin. Our guide Emma deserves 5 stars! A true professional! She tells the story in interesting and captivating way, very artistic person with excellent vocal. It's a pity that the museum doesn't offer a children's ticket price. Overall I recommend visiting! It definitely won't be boring.

Great insight into the history of Ireland. They have an interesting collection of items and there's a story behind everything. The tour guide enjoys what he does and it shows. Educational and entertaining. Plus, it's a free experience if you have a hop on/hop off bus ticket. I definitely recommend stopping in!

The little Museum of Dublin is the perfect place to visit if you want to learn the history of Dublin and it’s progress throughout the years. 🇮🇪☘️ It provides visitors with a 30 minute informative overview of the history of the city in the 20th century and life in Dublin during that time period, all provided by an employee who makes it both interesting and fun for you to learn and take all in. The museum has three floors of exhibitions and a collection of over 5,000 artefacts that have all been either donated or loaned directly from the people of Dublin. They also have a room dedicated to the famous rock band U2. 🎸 I would definitely recommend anyone visiting Dublin to visit this cute little gem.

A little treasure in the middle of Dublin. We could have easily spent another few hours exploring the rooms and reading the articles and walls. Girls loved the U2 room. So lovely to be able to interact with the items too. Staff were very knowledgeable including information not in the history books. We even found grandads phone number over 60 years ago!

I’m very glad I decided to visit this place. Everything they have in the museum was donated which I think is beautiful. There’s so many things, everything is well preserved and beautifully placed. You’ll visit by joining a tour and then exploring on your own. Fionn was the tour guide and he was really great!

What an amazing precious and charming museum ❤️ !! A very warm welcome at the entrance made us feel fantastic at the beginning. On the first floor our guide Leyla waited for us and an amazing journey through the history of Dublin with funny and interesting facts began. We had a lot of fun and couldnt stop listening to this wonderful lady!! Thank u so much for that experience!! That was the best museum we visited in Dublin and the U2 room was AMAZING!! We learned a lot about interesting people and enjoyed every second in this tiny but gorgeous Museum!!!

A nice little museum... with a 30' tour that is GREAT!!! A must. Don't know about the other guides, but Fiona was excellent (entertaining, knowledgeable... and not a bad singer), much better than Guinness' Patrick! 😉

Small but very complete. The museum offers a nice overview on the city's history, and our guide Mark was very enthousiast and witty. We choose this as an introduction to Dublin over to a guided tour walk in the city. A must see. It includes a room dedicated to U2.

Visited as a part of Culture Night. The staff is the kindest, most helpful people ever. The museum is very cost and cute, in a very beautiful old house. Tbh, as a non Irish person, I was not amazed but it has very interesting stuff and the staff definitely willing to explain everything.

One of my favorite experiences I had while in Dublin. If you like quirky, small museums with passionate tour guides, you are in for a treat. The tour occurred in two rooms and wrapped up within thirty minutes, but so much information was packed into that time. Shoutout to our wonderful guide, Mark with a K. :)

We went in not expecting much since our tickets were free with the purchase of our Do Dublin Hop On Hop Off Tour. What a surprise! It is a cute little place to learn the history of Dublin in about 30 minutes with a very fun and knowledgeable actor who totally looked like Harry Potter. It is a great overview of the city. Thanks Sean!

We got free tickets with our Hop-on-hop-off bus tour. It's a small, but cosy and interesting museum, and was decorated for Christmas in December. By yourself, it's probably more of a 4* experience, but the staff seemed great. If I had to buy tickets, I'd definitely go for a guided tour, I think we missed out. St. Stephen's Green park is right across the street. If you get there with a bus tour (ticket) and your next stop would be Dublin Castle, I recommend just walking there. It took us 15 minutes.

Isabelle was the perfect host during an informative, enlightening, and hilarious tour. And what a voice, too - we loved her singing Parting Glass to close the visit. Very highly recommended. I learnt more about the history of Dublin (and Ireland) in half an hour than I ever thought I would and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I'm a Dubliner and this has been on my bucket list for 10 years. Wandered in with my Italian Housemste thinking we would be in and out bored in 10 mins but ended up doing the treasure hunt and staying like 1.5 hours and we had a great time. It's such a cool little museum with a great sense of humor and the staff were so nice...they crammed so much cool s**t into it and it's sooo worth the money.

So far my best experience in Dublin! It is The LITTLE museum of Dublin so yes it is smaller but there is so many history and things packed in there. Our tourguide(Layla) was really funny and involved us in the tour, asked us questions. After the guided part (which was around 30 minutes )is over you are free to explore more! I recommend it to anyone looking for a great experience and lots of fun facts!

If you only do a couple things in Dublin, you really should make this one of them! Plus it’s only half an hour! This museum was a delight and so was our guide, Sean. Everything in the museum is donated by locals so their collection is eclectic and unique. For any James Joyce fans they talk a bit about Dubliners and Ulysses.

This place is a real gem and definitely worth a visit when in Dublin. The museum is certainly 'little' but don't let this fool you. It's packed floor to ceiling with historic pictures and artifacts that make the museum totally unique. The tour includes a very interactive and entertaining host who takes you on a journey through Ireland and Dublin using different props found in the rooms. This was excellent and both my kids loved it. I'm a big U2 fan so this room was also a big attraction for me and I'm sure music fans will love quotes and pictures in this room. All in all, this is a great place and somewhere I would return to when I'm next in Dublin.

I loved this little but equally very informative and beautiful museum. All the items have been donated and all the information is provided by a tour guide which you can also then look at in detail on your own. My guide was Claire and as soon as I arrived at the museum, I was made to feel so welcome. She made the tour interactive and personalised it to our group. I would recommend this little tour to anyone who is a first timer in Dublin to get a quick overview of this amazing city and its gripping history.

What a wonderful museum and our guide Emma was fantastic!!! She created such an awesome atmosphere from the beginning and she explained the history of Dublin in such funny yet very informative way. The tour starts off with tour guide and then you have free time to walk around yourself. The only tiny problem is that we booked the 4pm tour and the museum closes at 5pm. So unfortunately we really didn’t have time to enjoy the museum afterwards to look around and appreciate it properly. There are tonnes of really interesting facts and photos in all the rooms and this was a pity that we couldn’t enjoy it. There are even many photos or letters witH ORIGINAL signatures! 😃 Highly recommend but book the earlier time slot to truly enjoy the magical spot. Thank you Emma 😊

Absolutely fantastic did the walking tour of St Steven's green they offer. Our tour guide Luke was very engaging funny and made the overall experience very enjoyable. The museum itself has a surprising amount of content for such a small building one could spend an afternoon there easily if you were to read all the informative plaques. The staff there were very helpful and friendly they gave plenty more information about items. To conclude I would highly recommend giving this place a visit.

Probably the best Dublin's ambassadors you'll find in Little museum of Dublin. May be it's little, but it has the biggest stories ever. And yes - you will learn more then anywhere else. Curators are so skilled and knowledgeable, everyone of the staf is ten out of one, and the tour is very engaging and vivid. Last year i had a chance to see U2 exhibition there - masterpiece. In some of my 50 reviews in Dublin, Little Museum of Dublin definitly goes to the top 5!

There is nothing "little" about The Little Museum of Dublin. You'll be shocked how much there is to see inside. You'll spend hours reading everything and you'll want to read it all - so interesting! You can't miss the tour because it will give you another perspective of the history of Ireland. The tour guide and staff are very polite and knowledgeable, so don't be afraid to ask questions. There are multiple floors connected by stairs, but no elevator. Restrooms are located in between the first and seconds floors, so you'll need to go up some stairs. Most likely you'll see the Editor's Room, Shaking Hand of Dublin, and U2: Made in Dublin. My wife and I saw the exhibit "What's She Doing Here?". Everything here was fantastic, but if you miss the tour then you'll miss a lot.

We had a fantastic afternoon at the Little Museum of Dublin on Friday 18 Dec. Anyone who's ever lived in Ireland will enjoy a light hearted and most interesting trip down memory lane. Those who've never lived here will, I feel, enjoy the insight into the more recent history of Dublin/Ireland. My companion was a young 18 year Californian and he had great fun completing the newspaper quiz as we went from room to room. The 'prize' on completion of the quiz was a lovely little touch😂. Unfortunately, owing to Covid restrictions, guided tours around the actual museum exhibit are not permitted at the moment. Despite this, we were very lucky in that the staff present during our visit were so helpful, friendly & interested in answering our questions and sharing some of their knowledge with us. They made it a very special afternoon. Next time we hope to participate in a tour and have the full, unedited experience. Until the end of the year, the museum is offering an annual membership for 2 people (member&a guest) for €25. Membership includes visits to the museum as well as the walking tours. I bought a couple as Christmas stocking fillers for family members. I know they'll be delighted. Thank you all at the Little Museum of Dublin

The little museum of Dublin is a amazing collection that shows the development of the capital of Dublin throughout the centuries. The tour guide Rob was super knowledgeable and funny and made the tour. The museum is located really central and easy to get to. The price is really worth it even though other museums are free I would put this one above others that are available out there as it gives a true sense of the history of Dublin. I wish it continued success into the future.

Spend in several rooms - a brief excursion into different eras and things of that time in Ireland. Perfect for those who do not want to listen to three-hour lectures on history, but want to know a little more about the country. (Original) Очень очаровательное местечко. Осмотр только групповой, гиды только англоговорящие. Но все понятно, для туристов они очень упрощенно рассказывают. Little Museum I s a small but really extensive museum about Dublin. They are really good and decdribes the history of Dublin through the years in a very nice way with a lot of pictures and items. They also have separate rooms for U2 and Irish Times. We spent some 2-3 hours and there were more to explore. Due to COVID-19 they didn’t have guided tours in the museum, but the staff was present to answer questions and support our visit. Also we attended a guided walk in St Stephens Green called the writers of Dublin. It was a very nice experience and the guide (Cierán) made the tour really good by know she, interaction and a lively way of guiding. Don’t miss a guided walk!

Louise gave us a wonderful tour of the Museum and St, Stephen's Green. Her vast knowledge is so impressive but when delivered in such an engaging and humorous manner, this is an absolute not to be missed experience, whether visiting Dublin for the first time, or a dyed in the wool Dub who though you knew everything about the city and its fascinating past: you don't. Facts, trinkets, and stories woven in a way that leaves you wanting to come back for more. Put this on top of your list of things to do in Dublin!

  • 5/5 Viviana L. 2 years ago on Google

One of the highlights of our visit to Dublin. A small museum that revives the life, the history, but most of all the soul of Dublin. Through stories of objects and anecdotes, our guide Cieran gave us the history and fun facts of Ireland in just 30 minutes. Robert was also amazingly kind and insightful about everything we have asked. This is how museums should be. Fun and alive!

Buy a "Dublin Pass"! (solely available online) Yes, in 30 minutes you'll have an understanding of Ireland's past/history. A lovely passionate guide will draw you in with little effort. For the music lovers, there's an added bonus with one cosey little room dedicated soley to the Irish band U2 from Dublin.

This delightful little museum is situated right alongside Stephen's Green park inside a beautiful historic house. The two floors of the museum contain an incredible amount of little pieces of life in Dublin over the years, but by far the best part are the staff and guides. Lisa guided us through the museum and really brought the history to life with fun anecdotes, stories, jokes, and to close it all out a beautiful performance of "The Parting Glass". This is an absolute can't miss museum that you should be able to fit into any trip to Dublin!

A really interesting and fun pitstop in Dublin! The little museum was just that, a couple of floors full of Dublin artifacts and more. The first 30 minutes is with a tour guide and then you're able to explore by yourself. Mark, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. There was a wait to get in of around 30-40 minutes, but because it's guided tour I think they must do it hourly. There's plenty of cafe's around the corner so we brought a ticket and went for a cuppa until our slot. The museum had a few games to enjoy and overall took about 1hr until we decided to leave. I recommend the little museum!

The best little museum I've ever visited! Eamon our tour guide was perfect. I laughed. I cried. The exhibits are creatively curated. An inspiring balance of historical facts, social history and fun. An added bonus is the building and its location opposite St. Stephen's Green.

Wonderful and offbeat spot worthy of a visit. We chose the after-hours tour that includes a glass of wine and the place to ourselves, absolutely loved it. And Lisa, our guide, was lovely. Highly recommend for an afternoon ahead of evening festivities.

Very nice museum crammed full of interesting items relating to Dublin in every room. Our tour was guided by Sean who was charismatic and informative. Definitely worth a visit while in Dublin.

This museum is such a neat spot with so many cool pieces. Everything was donated by people of Dublin to the museum so there is a wide array of artifacts. We started with a 15-20 minute or so guided tour with Emmanuel who was really wonderful. He seems to really enjoy showing the museum to visitors and he was so funny and witty with the group! Definitely try to visit with him if you can. After he was finished, you were welcome to stay and look around the museum as long as you wanted.

Great starting point for learning about the history of Dublin and Ireland. The guide is very interactive and the length worked perfectly for me. Although the content is serious, the entire tour has enough humor in it and you can also see this reflected in the image ive shared below. I highly recommend this as a first time visitor of Dublin.

You need to join a tour to really enjoy this one. The staff is the highlight of the visit. It is truly little and quite peculiar. To be honest I would not come here specifically for this museum. Include it if you have bought the city card and are not paying for a separate ticket and if you are already visiting the area to see St. Stephen’s Green for instance.

Emma is sarcastic, funny and with a beautiful voice!!! I have come with my family and for teenagers it was a very pleasant way to learn about history... I recommend the visit. I have taken the book because I loved the tone of Emma's telling the history of Ireland.

A real must do! Honestly even though it’s on 29 minutes there is so much to learn. Saul was a great theatrical tour guide and we very much appreciated the Irish dancing at the end. He was very knowledgeable and made it fun!

We visited the museum in our last hours in Dublin and it was a fantastic end to our stay. Fionn was our guide. He told us numerous stories and his animated style was very captivating and amusing. The museum has several floors and each room is full of fascinating artifacts. There were stairs to get up to the building and from what I could see no disabled access so if you have difficulty with stairs phone before you go to see if the venue is suitable for you. They are reatricted in how many people can go on each tour so book your place online before you turn up.
