Very famous GPO (General Post Office) in Dublin with rich history behind. This building played an important role in the 1916 rise and you still can see the bullet holes in the columns outside. As well the outside as the inside of this building show beautiful architecture. I also did particularly like the wooden table, furniture and big post box in the main hall. Besides the classical post office activities you will find adjacent to the main building parcel services on the left and a museum and a shop on the right side . Surely worth while visiting. Most of the tourist tours stop there.

The legendary General post office aka GPO, a place of cultural and historic significance and yet available for daily use. Quite large for postings, speed postal services, purchase of cards and small phones, currency exchange, also has a museum. The staff here are great. Got a free card when I visited.

Quick and Wonderful Staff, from International Post to Local. A bit pricey for the international packages, so get your own boxes somewhere else. They got DHL as well and that's Handy. I love there Displays during the holidays inside and out and the Museum inside is worth a look. Loads of History here.

The GPO is on O'Connell Street in Dublin and houses the city's principal post office and a museum. It was finished in 1818 and was the last great Georgian public building erected in the city. It's one of the most important buildings in Ireland because of its links to the 1916 Easter Rising.

One of the most important building in early 20th century's Irish revolution history, the army used it as its HQ fight against English troops during Easter Rising, 1916. Now it's an ordinary postal service building...and don't forget to pay extra attention to it while sending postcards.

I have never seen a post office like this before in my life...in a very good way!! This is one of the best historical attractions in Dublin. The exterior architecture is simply breathtaking. I was so mesmerized i forgot to even take a pictire of the exterior! Lol. It seems here in Dublin a post office offers so many services besides just mailing letters and packages (buying stamps for stamp collections, bills...)! This post office was packed however the lines do move very fast and efficiently. There's a cafe, museum, and store as well. When we visited, it was beautifully decorated for Christmas and there was a fundraiser with living singing. It was simply magical.

One of the prime attraction in the heart of Dublin City. This place has lot of history and inside as well it is a piece of history. A must see place in Dublin. It's a building built in 18th century with lot of historical happenings held at this place. Try out the AnPost souvenir from the stores which is worth for sure.

Had a lovely experience with two staff on two different days. Pleasant, smiling, helpful. A real pleasure doing business here, and 4 cashiers open, unlike my branch of AIB, with interminable waiting time because there is only ever one cashier working. Well done staff at the GPO!

Wouldn't recommend to use international deliveries. One of my package was opened up (they even cut the books inside) and no liability was taken. in another deliver i sent abroad (a letter of authorisation for purchase)got misplaced too. Instead of the 10 day delivery they offer it took 40 days. I had to pay a different parcel service to correct the issue, but my request to refund me was denied. Local service is nice. i can't complain about that

An iconic historical site not to be missed. This place is loaded with all the memories of the heroic struggles of its people. One simply stands in awe among the relics and artifices. May those who have fallen rest in power.

I had received a horrible service from local post office, the staff steal my money 100 euro when i was there for lodgement, she didn't count the money in front of me and bring my money into the back room. She even shouting at me when I ask her why not count it on the desk, she was extremely rude to me as maybe i have different skin color, it's really hurt me and I report this matter to the head office GPO, BUT they did not take any investigation at all, no CCTV checking, did not give me back my money and trying to hide it down, told me to contact the local post myself. I can't believe the post office can treat customer like that, i advice all who has account in there to be careful.i hope my case will alert you, hopefully to get professional service fairly for all.

One of the worst attentions I have received, I have gone to 4 different offices and it is no longer a bad service is that they have not even listened to me and even attended. I go to ask about information because I am waiting for an important letter from Spain and it is 7 days late. they just give me a paper and tell me to go

GPO at Christmas time. A busy spot. We'll kept. Regular postal services plus an important history spot.

„Free admissions“ is factually wrong. You pay admission but its worth it. As a Dublin Newbie i got to see the GPO. It hosts a very interesting multimedia exhibition about the state-formation of Ireland and with focus of that very building. You actually see the bullet holes on the exterior You dive in for quite some time, so plan in 1-2h for this activity. After finishing the tour we saw the amazing lights installation

My parcel was stolen since July and I made the complaint but they never replied. I have to say it is the first time I send a parcel to Italy (with the letters no problem, all the time they have arrived), so I think there has to be a way to track correctly our parcels as it is very frustrating to waste our items and the money payed and they seem to do not mind at all. What an awful experience! Be careful sending parcels abroad!, local service in Ireland may be different, I hope.

You better not having any problem with your parcel, 'cause the office is not better than a mailbox, they can do nothing. Never ship DHL, or your parcel will be abandoned at the end as An post will say DHL should do something while they are the one charge your fees.

Originally built as the main post office (GPO), in early 19th Cent., in Georgian architecture style. During the Easter Rising of 1916, the GPO served as the headquarters of the uprising's leaders. Today, the beautiful building still serves as a post office and it holds an interesting small museum .

Honestly one of the worst mailing services if you’re sending anything abroad and are constantly losing mail. Things take over 6 weeks to update even with tracked shipping when it says it will arrive in a week. Honestly poor poor service and I’ve been using them for over 2 years as they’re the cheapest around but it’s not worth the loss and having to constantly reship things or chase a post for updates.

this place has a pretty interesting historical museum about the Easter rising and the history of the building. was here with school and got a kinda tourwith an explanation at every piece. very intresting. also, its a post office, you can buy and even send letters from here

Always satisfied with the service I receive in this branch, very helpful and efficient staff, even when they’re extremely busy. I often choose to travel a bit further just to get my business sorted in this branch because I know I will have the best customer experience.

They do not deliver my order by leaving a note in my address stating that they could not find me, while there is a 24/7 security guard that receives all parcels. Now they won't even try to redeliver and request me to go to their place and pick it up. This is a joke, can't believe we are paying taxes for this, an post should be completely remodeled

I am really sorry about what happened. I was in the office and unfortunately I left my very valuable hat on a table. Only 5 minutes later, noticing, I came back, I asked an anpost person. He told me that he had seen it and left there, and that unfortunately someone had taken it. A serious structure would have put it aside, conserving it.

Beautiful location, though it did throw us off for a second bc it shares the building with a museum. Staff was efficient and super helpful, which is key for us since we’re millennials with a somewhat tenuous grasp on the whole snail mail concept

I sent two boxes to Brazil, on the website it said it would arrive within 7 to 9 days and so far it hasn't arrived. I went to see the screening issue that is overpaid and so far nothing is on the same date. I would like my money back because it is complicated for you to pay and not have a way to track and also not arrive on the day. I sent it just thinking it was fast.

Very stunning building, I sent my parcels here for a few years. Nice people very understanding. Considering. I had a problem with a cheque which was an an post cheque, i had this for a few months. But finally here they solved the problem in a few minutes. Don’t go there Wednesday mornings. Very busy. Packed. Many want to get their social money.

Great to see that this historic building which saw fierce fighting in the 1916 Easter uprising has been looked after so well. Very clean and amazing to see the building open on a Sunday.
