We had a nice dinner. The staff was very gentle and helpful but no one was wearing the face mask properly. The oysters as starter were super salty and watery. I don’t know why but I expected them to be cooked but they were rough and cold. The mains we ordered seemed small portions but were filling anyway. They gave us a basket with slices of bread that reminded us to the super fresh bread we ate in Paris. The music was lovely and we had Ferrero as dessert which I recommend if you are a sweet lover. Overall ok but I would increase the portions and mind the covid measurements.

Wouldn't reccomend I'm afraid. Even though the food was so delicious, it failed on every other level unfortunately. The service was very mediocre, we were shown to a tiny table where one chair could not move out at all due to an umbrella stand being in the way. I understand that they are trying to fit as many in outside as possible with current restrictions but there was no room to move. They had no options for children on the menu, and when we asked were told that a dish for 32 euro could be split? We were told to mind our wallets, which was very good advice to give but had us on edge for the duration. Finally a table directly behind us was seated half way through our meal. The owner came out with complimentary glasses of champagne for them as a thank you for choosing their restaurant, while we were not offered same at any stage even though we paid a healthy bill tag, and gave a tip too, of which not even a thank you was given. As I said, amazing food, but will not be back for the reasons above.

Service is abysmal but your mediocre pasta dish will be validated by the pretensions of those around you. The food is ok. The oysters are fantastic but I feel like I can thank the island for that, not the chef. The seafood is fresh and decently seasoned. The pasta is as undercooked as it is overpriced, my advice to them is to find a happy medium. Food aside, I wholeheartedly cannot recommend this place to anyone, particularly those from out of town. They aren’t worth your time or your money. Candidly, this staff needs a reality check on hospitality expectations. I can’t recall a time I felt so uncomfortable in a dining establishment. Was it because we’re Americans? Perhaps. Was it how we were dressed? A button up and jeans shouldn’t prevent me from a good meal, but at least do me the courtesy of not seating if I don’t meet your dress code. Rude, cold, abrasive. Frigid. Demeaning. I wanted to walk out. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. So much culinary talent in this town, this classless staff and stunningly average pasta don’t deserve to survive in a city of this caliber.

Fancy place, the starters were great ( we had squid with vegetables and oysters), fresh ingredients, the desserts were nice (ferrero rocher and tiramisu), however the pasta was barely above average, you would expect exceptional pasta in an Italian restaurant for that price (179 eur for two with starters, main course and desserts including a bottle of wine which was 45eur).

Amazing date night. The moment you walk in, there is a display of fresh fish on ice. We went for their specials which were Halibut and Black squid ink risotto. Both were delicious and we enjoyed every bite. Impressive wine list as well for every budget. It is a bit of on more expensive side but you get what you paid. Romantic atmosphere and great quality seafood.

Rushed experience, too fussy. Three staff attending ,felt like they wanted the table back. Dessert menu handed straight after dinner then asked twice in seconds if we wanted dessert. Food nice but prepare to pay €25 crab starter , mains €38. Bottle water €6. Extensive wine list but hard to find anything under €45, (I note similar comment by previous customer a while back and nothing changed so I imagine they don’t take on feed back.) Be helpful if they had a decent quality and priced house wine at front of list. Felt very corporate entertainment type restaurant , for me not one for a group of friends or romantic dinner. Big show with sole set alight at your table. Lots of fuss by a member of staff to take video and photos of food as it came from the kitchen?? I assume to post live? Staff friendly. Food good but not great. Wouldn’t go again.

Food was really delicious but the portion sizes were quite small for the price paid. The Ferrero Rocher dessert was AMAZING.

Upon the recommendation of a trusted confidante, I embarked on a culinary voyage to Rosa Madre on my final day in the enchanting city of Dublin. My expectations were met with nothing short of excellence in both service and gastronomy. My journey commenced with the oven-baked aubergines, a savory masterpiece made from fresh ingredients and caressed by a luscious tomato sauce, meticulously balanced to perfection. For the main course, I indulged in a symphony of flavors manifested in the pappardelle with porcini mushrooms. The pasta, expertly handcrafted, harmoniously danced with the earthy essence of the mushrooms and was swathed in a velvety, creamy sauce, rendering every bite an unforgettable delight. I must not neglect to mention the bread basket, graced with delectable butter, as well as the freshly crafted tomato side salad that crowned my experience, leaving an indelible impression on my discerning palate. Rosa Madre is undeniably a dining destination par excellence.

We had our anniversary dinner here - we were let down by another restaurant and thankfully they had an opening for two without a reservation. I got the lobster pasta dish and my boyfriend got the white ragu. We both enjoyed but the portions were huge. I couldn’t finish mine! The pasta is served Al dente, I usually like it on the softer side but that’s a personal preference. The food was great but to be honest for the prices I’m not sure it was 100% worth it. Personally we would have preferred slightly smaller portions and cheaper prices. The dessert was AMAZING! A bit expensive but definitely well worth it. The service was great and I really can’t fault them in that regard. Overall we had a pleasant experience.

Ate here recently and I don't know how many things could have gone wrong. Waitress didn't seem to be bothered that food and drinks orders were wrong all night. Even more is the price. How can they justify that menu and price as well when the same options at well known restaurants in the area are cheaper even. The food was very good but not worth that amount.

The first place in Dublin were I found something similar to italian vongole pasta! Super tasty, and even for 26€ pasta it was definitely worth it :)

My partner and I wanted to head in to town from South Dublin but hadn't booked anywhere. I gravitate toward Italian so did a quick check on Open Table and booked Rosa Madre having never been before and my partner and I loved it! The food and wine were great and reasonable for that part of Dublin. We were greeted by a really friendly guy in a cool black suit with some super out there trainers but he looked the business.. so Italian and stylish! Same for the rest of the staff though, really smart. We were seated upstairs and our waitress, who may well have been head, was excellent and in between giving us very attentive service was guiding and training a couple of newbies and did it so well without making them feel like the newbies. She fillited the sea bass in front of us but again it was so well done it just added to the great experience. Would happily recommend. We sat next to a family birthday and a lovely fuss was made with the birthday cake so I'd imagine this place would be great for a special occasion.

Everything is this restaurant was amazing! They have made such an effort with every detail of the interior but also the food and wine. I feel like we had the best wine and food ever in there. We were there for like 3 hours enjoying the food and the wine and the staff were so kind and attentive. We actually intended on ordering much more food, but the staff kindly advised that it would be too much, so we stuck with their recommendations and they were 100% correct. I would love to visit again!

Situated close to Temple Bar, this is a cosy little place just down a quiet side street. The food was delicious, a fantastic wine list and the staff were lovely. Has a very authentic feel. I cleaned my plate on every dish. Definitely worth a visit

Absolutely loved it. Expensive but it's worth it. Luca took time to come and chat to us at the table. Food was devine and the wine was even better. Definitely come back. Life's too short, so save up and bring your better half there.

The place screams "fancy" :) Elegant delicious food, great service, and perfect location. The ingredients are perfectly fresh, it's a whole new gastronomical level. P.s. Order a Ferrero Rocher dessert, you won't regret it.

Second time here and it does not fail to impress. Booked for a late lunch and food was again AMAZING . Service is fantastic. We had Turbot for 2 for the mains and it was one of the best fish dishes we have had this year. Definitely returning for a 3 delight sometime soon.

The uniqueness, quality of preparation, and presentation of this meal has placed this experience in my Top 10 Dining Experiences of all times. The special was a salt crusted, broiled, whole Sea Bass that was finished table side, flambe. The hostess, floor manager, then skillfully filleted the fish directly into our dinner plates, leaving not one ounce of fish behind and without including a single bone. The fish was cooked to pure perfection, moist, tender, and beautiful flavorful. To simply add to this exquisite meal, was the most engaging service you could ask for from this all Portuguese team.

Restaurant is beautiful Service is great But I expected much more for those prices. Seating near exit is no good. Constantly cold breeze on my back. They should do something about that. Or not using those tables during cold months. And the most important part - food. Well, I really expected something more impressive for that money. It started with sliced baguette and butter. That baguette should be really fresh, fluffy and even little bit warm. But what we got felt like someone sliced it that morning and after all day sitting somewhere it was chewy and just didn't feel very fresh. I was really surprised by that. Starter (from today specials) was nice. Kind of shaped into cake with hazelnut crust. It was nice, but again, expected a bit more...felt really plain. Pasta for main course was lovely, but when compared to much cheaper pasta in Grano... I expected a bit more there too. Second main course fish with mushrooms and rosemary potatoes. Pan fried fish was nice and cooked well. Sauce and mushrooms also nice. But potatoes were just wedges from the oven with zero presentation. The whole meal looked like my regular dinner at home. So again, for that price I expect much higher food quality and presentation. This felt more like a regular lunch in decent bistro. Not what I expect for €250.

Had a lovely dinner at Rosa Madre. The ambiance was really nice, the service was alright but the food was incredible Got a few starters including the Kelly Galway's oysters, caviar, and special of the day: a crab meat starter. Everything was fresh! For mains, we ordered the Sole "Meunière", which was amazing! And finished the meal with a tiramisu for dessert

An authentic Italian restaurant in Dublin. Located in the heart of the city in the famous Temple Bar district, in this restaurant you can savor the real Italian flavors. The à la carte menu offers a wide variety of choices between meat and peace. The wine list or rather, the wine book allows you to range between dozens and dozens of wines for all budgets. Desserts, refined like coconut foam with strawberries or simply authentic like tiramisu. The staff, truly exceptional in everything. Reservation required.

Went for lunch, food was delicious and so fresh and homemade, choice between a two or three course meal for 39 euro or 45 euro. Service was very attentive and place was spotless.

Lovely food . The restaurant is immaculate. Really nice staff pleasant evening. Only criticism is that it's quite like a funeral home but that's not the restaurants fault.

Very conveniently located in Temple Bar but off the busy main Street. I particularly appreciated that we could get a table for 2 a few hours before going... Which is pretty much a miracle in Dublin nowadays! The restaurant is elegantly designed with a dim lit setting. This could be seen as a relaxing and private ambience but it also made it difficult to read the menu printed on gold and silver (reflective) pages with the little light on the table. Not enough contrast to read the menu. The menu was mostly fish based with a couple of meat options. There is a long wine list (probably too long) which I found very pricey. At least you can pick the normally price gin tonic and aperol spritz. The food is good but overall my friend who recommended it probably oversold it to me. First we made the mistake of ordering a risotto for starter - it was good, plain in taste by design with scallops - but it was heavy. The tuna tartare was particularly good though. For main, I found the fish taste far too fishy.. probably too intense fish stock. The beef piece was pretty big, so much that I couldn't finish while I really don't like wasting food. But also, for that price or less, there are other restaurants in town I would think on going back to first. The waiters and waitresses were great. Had very happy exchanges with them.

Best Italian I ever visited. And the Italian kitchen is my favorite. The ravioli was the best I have ever had too. Also loved the fact you could order a Peroni, which is even here (belgium) hard to get.

One of the best restaurants in Dublin. The entire experience is 10/10. Luca and his team are very special and it's very clear to see how happy they are. Everything is always perfect.
