🫤 Everybody praises and recommend this place, but I am somehow not convinced by its quality. I got to this bar with my boyfriend, sat at the table, and waited for about half an hour for some waiter to take our order. We weren't even sure if the place offers table service, since nothing was happening.... People often mention good, Guinness, staff, friendly, nice, Great, Irish, great, service, pint,

Everybody praises and recommend this place, but I am somehow not convinced by its quality. I got to this bar with my boyfriend, sat at the table, and waited for about half an hour for some waiter to take our order. We weren't even sure if the place offers table service, since nothing was happening. In the end, we went to a bar to make our order. So it seems that the place offers the table service, but the speed of serving was so bad that we went to the bar with each additional order of beer or so. Service is really not the biggest highlight of this place. All the meals look like fast food. I think it's because fries or fried potatoes are a universal side dish for everything. The taste of the meals is good and the portions are big, but I see too much oil everywhere. If you want to try something interesting, go for beef and Guinness pie. But again, I would just go for something else than fries as the side dish, if possible.

Food was delicious, was our first time eating something local in Dublin. The Guinness stew was super good, the mashed potatoes and sausage too. For me it was expensive though, but it's the standard prices in Dublin so no big deal. If you want to eat food in a classic Irish pub this is a good option, also really close to the phoenix park! The food was quick and the staff was friendly.

Very nice bar...went in there because if the free Guinness the Big Bus Hop.on Hop off had to offer but it was a tiny free glass ...spend 2 euros and you get a whole pint...cheapest pint of Guinness in town. The ambience was nice too.

Within walking distance from the Ashling Hotel, this is a warm and cozy place to sit and visit or just relax after a long day of walking. Two floors offer ample seating inside, including a long bar, and there are a few tables outside as well. This place offers a few classic Irish dishes and an eclectic variety of other dishes too. We tried the daily soup special of Califlower and Cheese Soup, which was creamy and delicious.

I love this place. Very cozy and friendly. Traditional, Victorian, historic looking place with good food and drinks. Foods could be seemed a bit pricey regarding it's not in the centre centre of town.. but I enjoyed it!

The tempura battered fish is THE BEST battered fish I have ever had! The portions are also amazing (as a hungry traveller today ). The only fault I have is the menus need to be printed out daily. It's a little off putting when they are a little dirty. The staff are friendly and efficient. Well done guys and gals! All in all a fabulous experience

Really cool place . Good food and of course probably the fresh and more out of the barrel Guinness beer you'll have outside the Guinness factory haha since it's across the street from it. Ask someone about the history behind the name and the place and enjoy a good time.

Called in here from the hop on hop off bus tour! And I am so pleased I did!! Great pub! The Guinness was one of the best I had in Dublin! Staff were lovely and the beef stew was very good! I would absolutely go back again when in Dublin!

Beef & Guinness Pie was great, the Bailey's Cheesecake was outstanding! The 3 pints of Guinness tasted like they we straight from the Brewery (just across the canal) .. Highly recommend this truly Irish bar for any weary world traveller

I've been traveling the UK and Ireland for the better part of two weeks now, and this was quite possibly the most enjoyable meal I've had so far. Starter: Duck liver parfait Main: Steak frites (mid-rare with the garlic butter sauce) Dessert: Sticky toffee pudding and a cup of coffee I felt that just "paying my bill" wasn't enough, so I literally bought the entire kitchen staff a round of beer to thank them.

Fantastic venue with a cosy atmosphere. Big pub and restaurant. Cosy spots to sit down and sip on a pint or have a bite to eat. Also a good smoking area outside if that's your thing. Great food also.

(Translated by Google) We fell into Nancy's hands on Friday night without a reservation and were really thrilled. A beautiful, quaint pub with delicious food, good beer and very nice service. The Irish are very polite and really nice anyway. The atmosphere is just great. A must see who is in the area. There is live music on Saturdays. There is always a daily special.

A surprisingly large place with plenty of seating. Typical pub style food but it was pretty tasty. Only a few beers on tap but overall it was a nice experience.

Nice and old place. Good vibe for pint of Guinness. Bought today two glasses of mulled vine. This place is a good pub. But you SHOULDN'T buy here MULLED VINE. Because here expensive sweet water, it isn't real mulled vine.

We found this Irish pub because was close to our hotel. The typical Irish atmosphere made us felt comfortably. We ate fish and chips and a vegetable soup, very good and warm! As Italians, we enjoyed the laughter of the Irish guys!

A big shout out to the waiters and bartenders working here for their amazing service and patience. I arrived here with a large group of friends and over 10 kids without a reservation and we redirect in the smaller room on the right side of the pub, which was perfect for us. We spent several hours here, had food and drink and the service was impeccable and everything was good. Thank you so much for being so accommodating!

Arriving in mid evening to a nearby hotel we ventured in for food (and of course a Guinness). Not wanting a big meal we opted for the squid, colcannon croquettes and smokey pulled pork fries. Attractively plated and all were good - the croquettes were a new spin on an Irish dish and worked well. The squid cooked tender with a spicy coating which didn't swamp the flavour of the fish. The fries were good too with flavoursome pulled pork on good portion of fries. Service good and we returned to eat again which is an endorsement from me. Customers were a mix of locals, tourists and Heuston travellers and yes it's well worth the walk across the bridge.

Really nice aesthetic in this bar. A good old style bar feel. Got there early and the bar was surprisingly busy. Obviously a popular spot with tourists with it's proximity to Heuston station. Good selection of beers, food is off a high standard, I only had the wings but they were delicious and I saw quite a few dishes going by that smelled and looked great and defo wanted a taste. I'd recommend if you're in the area, I'd say it's great at night. Service was good and friendly.

The only reason we stopped here was because it was a stop along the way for the Hop On Hop Off bus tour that was part of the Dublin City Pass and the pass entitled us to a free Guinness. If it weren’t for that, I probably would have never stopped here. The joint was cool, and similar to many of the Irish pubs we visited, but a little more bare boned. Granted, it was early afternoon, but the place was empty, and the bartender was nowhere to be found. He finally appeared from a cob webbed corner somewhere and asked what our pleasure was. We told him we were fresh off the bus and we were there to redeem our tickets for the free Guinness. Unfortunately, the free Guinness offer was only valid for a half pint. We elected for the full pint and paid the difference. The barkeep was very friendly, but it took a good 10 minutes to receive our pints (we were in a hurry because we were waiting for the next bus). All in all, it was a friendly place, just kind of dead, and really slow. I guess it’s still worth a half price pint of Guinness though.

Friday before Christmas. The bar area was heaving, but our family was shown to a nice table upstairs. We had an excellent supper. Two of us had the beef and Guinness pie. I had the seafood chowder and salad. The bowl was very large and crammed with seafood. More of a stew then a soup and it was a meal in itself. The portions were large and delicious. I would be very happy to return.

It's a really nice place to go for a drink and some food especially after a lovely walk in the park. The food is good but fish and chips was really disappointing... It looked like it came out straight from the freezer including the batter... Staff was friendly tho and the service was quick enough.

The food was great, I had the stuffed chicken, with mashed potatoes and veggies, it was very filling, I even took some of my meal home. The dessert sampler was great too. The history is a fun, interesting story that can best be told by your server or look it up on the internet, you will not regret the time spent.

This was part of the big bus tour, free half(ish) pint of Guinness. The food was ok. Staff were friendly but struggled to look after tables. Wasn't very busy at the time.

Toastie was hard to eat. The crisps on the side were gone off. The salad I didn’t even eat. Soup wasn’t nice. Bread had to be put into the soup for it to even taste like soup cause the bread crumbled so much. Guinness was alright that’s all I’ll say

Whew! This place hits all my checks!! The people were so nice, and so welcoming. They were kid friendly, and there was so much history in that building! The owner is happy to tell you the whole story of Nancy Hand! Of course the fish and chips and the Texas BBQ wings were great! And my wife being from Texas gave their BBQ sauce a 10 out of 10. If you know Texans that's a big deal! Definitely don't miss this place!

I've eaten in a lot of places and I have to say, hands down this is pound for pound the best place to eat in Dublin City. The food is phenomenal, the staff are fantastic and the decor is steeped in History and full of gems and features a Victorian bar and the Original staircase from trinity College Its situated right next to the Phoenix park so its a great way for weekend lunch or early dinner. The decoration at Christmas are really cool, so make sure you bring the kids along.

Wonderful bar, super staff, tasty food but grotesquely overpriced tasty food 💁‍♂️ 15.50 for a plate of vegetables with noodles. Staggering considering you can go to a top Asian restaurant and have real Asian herbs, spices etc for less than bar noodles and vegetables. As I said it was tasty and it is a great bar.

(Translated by Google) I have been to the Bar, very typical and pleasant even outside. Very good local beers with prices aligned with the cost of living. The habit of not providing the coaster leads all surfaces in the room to be sticky (Original) Sono stato al Bar, molto tipico e piacevole anche all'esterno. Birre locali molto buone con prezzi allineati al costo della vita. L'abitudine di non fornire il sottobicchiere porta tutte le superfici del locale ad essere appiccicose
