The best local pour of Guinness in Dublin. Really fantastic bar right outside the Temple Bar area. The Palace was recommended by multiple locals and did not disappoint. Downstairs was very busy but the Whiskey bar upstairs had plenty of seating even the day after St Patty's day. The bartender and staff were kind as always. The upstairs bartender recommended a good pour of their house whiskey. We also had a pint of Guinness. It was indeed a good Guinness as recommended. The decor and atmosphere were top notch and really unique, even for Dublin. The other patrons were by no means unfriendly but less open to conversation than the other more local pubs we have visited. It was the day after Patty's day though. Highly recommended

This an amazing whiskey bar, pretty much any Irish whiskey you can think of and more is available here. Go for the second floor that has great live music too in the evening.

My review is for the irish coffee/ whiskey tasting experience that I had here. Great way to get introduced to the spirit and drink as the ambiance was delightful! Derek di a great job over the 90 mins tasting in giving the history of whiskey in general and the brand Powers. Now if you have no basic knowledge of whiskey ask, Derek will go over the process so don't be afraid to ask questions:):)

A ton of history in this pub. Favorite spot to writers working at the paper down the street. Came here for my first pint on my first day in Dublin. Great, quiet atmosphere early afternoon on a Sunday. Quant, separated 2 seater spots at the bar. Helps for some good conversation. Great point of Guinness too!

Beautiful ambiance with stained glass ceilings. Less touristy more local people that is my cup of tea. Great atmosphere of a live pub.

Let me put it this way......forget about the rest of the pubs in Temple Bar, this is by far the best pub in this part of Dublin. The Guinness served here by experienced, friendly staff is five star. I'd nearly forgive myself for a 'down the hatch one gulp pint'.....nearly. This is a 'real' old style Dublin pub. One of my favourite ......in the whole wide world.

Awesome bar slap bang in the centre of town, came highly recommended and didn’t disappoint point. Serve a cracking pint of Guinness in a authentic bar surrounded by whiskeys and old stuff. Excellent bar to escape the madness of the City.

Centrally located on the outskirts of the Temple Bar area, this is a classic Victorian pub that is rated as one of the best. Stopped in for a pint on a Thursday afternoon. The Guinness pour is one of the best we had in Dublin.

This iconic and historical pub is famous for its beautiful facade and interior. It offers great customer service and a huge variety of beers. We had several options recommended by the bartender, and all of them were good and at a fair price. It can become really crowded and hard to get a table at times.

One of the most beautiful pubs and one of the most beautiful pints of Guinness you can have in Dublin. It’s in my top 3! Always make sure I pop in anytime I’m in Dublin.

My brother and I went to The Palace Bar when we visited Dublin. It was probably the best night we had in the whole trip. We got there just before 11pm. Had a couple pints and were getting ready to go since we thought they'd kick us out at 11:30. To our surprise we had another round of Guinness and we sat around with locals sharing stories for another half an hour. It was a lot of fun. In the United States some rude person would have thrown us out. The Palace allowed us to keep talking. It was great. Hope the pubs stay in Ireland during these hard times. Covid has to end eventually. Cheers. We'll be back once this pandemic ends.

Literal pub like a palace on the inside. Large sitting room in the back. Tons of whiskey and beer options. Very fun place.

Awesome bar! My server was very knowledgeable and friendly. It’s a nice balance between traditional and low-key, and fun and lively. Not too formal, not too wild.

I work just around the corner from the palace bar and can say the my friends and I from work have never had a bad experience when having a pint after work all the lads who work there are so sound and accommodating and would highly recommend anyone visiting the city to pop in for a few pints

A real old fashioned Irish Pub that you can feel the history in. The draw is the look and feel of the place. It avoids the honky tonk Coney Island feel that seems to be the state of the Temple Bar area at present.

Well, what can you say in covid times, top price for pint, for Guinness /moretti. Had next round in stoneybatter, €1-30 cheaper, temple.bar price's!!!

Excellent. Complied with all Covid regulations and felt comfortable/safe there. The pints were also wonderful. Well done Palace Bar staff.

Top shelf. Guinness is 5.70. Expensive but hey its Temple bar. Last (or 1 of) real pubs left in this part of city.

Great traditional pub near Temple Bar. One of the few proper pubs there that cater to locals as well as tourists. Excellent Guinness and a good whiskey selection.

Lovely 200 year old bar on Fleet Street in the middle of Dublin. The Palace serves a consistently good pint of Guinness. Definitely worth going in.

What's not to love about the Palace ☘️ Step back in time and be charmed by the jewels and charms of our Celtic heritage. The bar folk are feckin mighty. Good craic and a very decent pint. I love this nest. Been going there since I was a young wan ...... x enjoy

One of my favourite pubs in Dublin, and definitely one of the best pints of Guinness in Dublin! They also have a really nice Whiskey bar upstairs - used to love the trad music sessions here on a Thursday night pre-Covid - hopefully this is something that returns soon.

It's an amazing historic bar which is must visit and at the heart of Dublin City Centre. Great crowd, great people and ambience. Good pints but very hard to find a seat inside.

  • 5/5 A.B 11 months ago on Google
Great spot for a pint and a chat with a mate, If your looking for a more quiet area the upstairs is the way to go. Good prices overall considering the competition and great service. Alex, great bartender and conversationalist. Able to have good craic with customers and give interesting insight into the options available. Would recommend strongly.

It’s a fabulously historic bar surrounded by all kinds of Whiskey in Fleet Street. I tried “The Palace Bar” their own brand of Whisky which was so good. It has full of old wood and is very close to the rest of the bar. Worthy to try.

Fabulously historic bar in Fleet Street. Established 1823. Full of old wood, a well stocked bar with all manner of drinks, a rear seated area which is mostly closed off from the rest of the bar and a fabulous stained glass ceiling light at the rear of the bar. Bar stools are available towards the front with no tables. Men’s toilets are on the ground floor and ladies are in the basement so not ideal for those with mobility issues. Popular bar after work. Was popular with the journalists when the newspapers were based around this area. Not sure if it serves food as I didn’t see a menu. Expensive for drinks! One drink causes plenty of damage to the wallet. Bar staff very friendly and after work, so too are the customers who come in for a quick drink before they head home.

I visited this bar when I visited Dublin last weekend. Staff were so attentive and the ambience was relaxing and pleasing. The Guinness was great too. I sat at the rear of the bar and admired the pictures and photos of our literary talents. I can imagine them sitting in there back in their day, deep in thought as the clock on the wall ticked loudly. An inspirational place to while away the hours reading or writing or even drawing or doodling. Loved it.

Seems unchanged and guessing it's listed. Beautiful stained glass ceiling at back bar. Nooks galore. In two days been there twice in a two night trip. The Guinness is as good as I have ever tasted and cheaper than the joints in Temple Bar and it's on the edge. Go if in Dub.

Veeeery expensive, have a full bank account entering here. Good spot to pick up some nice chicks though..perfect if around 25 plus years old :)

Wonderfully atmospheric and comfortable, like home. Nice photos on the walls and a gorgeous stained glass ceiling skylight. We were lucky to get a table in back early in the afternoon before it got crowded. Still, fast service ordering at the bar all the time. Great place for a pint of Guinness. They also specialize in whiskey that is distilled upstairs. Downstairs are the restrooms. Early evenings it will fill up with all types of people: fun groups, old-timers, families, female couples, travelers; while the staff maintain a sense of history and professional decorum.

If you are looking for a real Irish pub experience, come here. Yes, it is at the end of a tourist street, but this place stands out. When we sat in, we only saw elderly locals inside, sipping their beers and whiskeys, it was a unique experience. The interior is Victorian style and spectacular, it is like an instant time travel. The staff is professional, they had some really nice whiskeys, too.
