I’ve stayed a few times in the Gibson over the years but it had been about 5 years since my last stay. It used to be one of my favourite hotels in Dublin as attention to detail and the little touches was second to none. I was so disappointed when I stayed this time. The room was so run down. My husband paid almost €400 for 2 nights as a birthday present for me so it wasn’t cheap. Not even breakfast included. The carpet had massive dirty stains on it, bathroom had mold around the bath. I’m sorry to say I won’t be staying again. It’s too much money to be so disappointed by an extremely basic room when the hotel was once one of the nicest hotels to stay in. The only pluses this visit was the bed was extremely comfy and the food was gorgeous. Edited to include that as a woman staying alone in your hotel, I would have appreciated prior warning that electricians would be attempting to gain entry to my room. I was just out of the shower when they tried to gain entry to the room to do “electrical testing”. When I complained to reception I was simply handed a “do not disturb” sign which I already had hanging on the door. They didn’t seem to care at my upset. As previously stated, I won’t be staying again. Used to be a gorgeous hotel to stay in. Such a shame.

Lovely hotel, right beside the Luas. Parking is right below in the underground, 3.50 per hour up to 3pm then an overnight rate of 16 euros kicks in. When we were there the upstairs bar wasn't open but it looks nice, however the bar in the restaurant was open so you could have drank here. The restaurant is modern and cool. Rooms are lovely and the hotel is modern. Breakfast is average so if I were you I would go out for breakfast, but that's just my own view.

The room we had was quite spacious. One of the walls was all glass so we could really hear the wind and it was coming through the windows a little. The receptionists are very friendly and helpful. The location is good cuz it’s right at the tram stop. There’s not much to do in the area though, maybe it’s just quiet after Christmas.

Staff were good and friendly, a fairly average hotel. Modern decor which generally means that seats are uncomfortable. Well positioned at the end of the luas line. Parking is good. Breakfast was very average. Dinner from a very small menu was actually quite good.

Our first time at the Gibson and we had a wonderful experience. Arrived a little early to check in and the girl at reception was extremely pleasant and advised us to pop into the bar while she fast tracked our room. While in the bar we decided to have some food which was delicious. Again the bar staff were excellent and friendly. Our room was perfect and while not huge it was ample enough space for us. All in all it was great stay with the Gibson and its location was brilliant. We will be back ❤️

This is a really great Hotel if you are attending a concert in the 3 arena you are only a stones throw away. You have to go two floors up to get to main reception which is fine but there is a cold cast around that part of the hotel. Nonetheless once you check in the room from what I experienced was really clean and spacious with a shower that felt like you were in a tropical rain forest. Breakfast was 10/10 lovely to see the self service buffet back. Price was good we got a deal with 15% off for staying two nights. If you do want to go out in the city for dinner like we did be mindful that you will need a taxi, or a about an hours walk. Staff were really helpful with booking a taxi for us. Overall a pleasant experience

This is not an attractive hotel & the maintenance of it is very poor in the public areas. I do not know how the rooms are as I was not staying. I sat in area where curtains were falling off the rails, the windows are not as clean as they should be since there are so many of them and are mentioned in the advertising. The bathrooms are marginal at best, the colour scheme is grey & chartreuse through out, its dated and too much. I would not be tempted to return.

Excellent location, lovely breakfasts. I didn't eat dinner here but the menu looked to be very nice. The room was excellent and spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and polite.

On arrival everything was fantastic but when we came back to the hotel after having a wonderful time in the city out celebrating our engagement the experience was totally different. We were told there was no residence bar, we were then told there was no room service. The staff we dealt with were not very helpful. It sort of put a downer on our celebrations the way our night ended. We will not be visiting the Gibson Hotel any time soon.

Mathias was very helpful when we arrived. The beds are comfortable. Service and cleaners were pleasant. The hotel is right near the tram which was great and they do have parking for a fee. The price was good as well!

From the minute I checked in to checking out, everything was perfect. We had dinner in the bar and of course cocktails and it was beautiful.. The staff was so helpful and guided us on where we wanted to go,also very chatty..It was lovely to see staff talking to customers as well as just taking or dropping orders down. The room was beautiful and nice and warm, spotless clean.. The next morning we had breakfast was delicious. I certainly will be back.

The hotel is very well located and easy to access, the restaurant and bar were also very good. The only downside was that the rooms didn't have shampoo, and there was a film shooting in the entrance that blocked access to the elevator. We had also requested not to charge the bill on the card we used for reservation, but this request was not honored. Other than that, everything was great!

Lovely atmosphere, helpful staff, good rooms with everything you need, bar good, and food really good, and location near to town centre but not in the middle of it. I had a Great stay. Thank you... Everything was really good but for me it was definitely the staff (and it was every staff I met.) that made the stay so good, their attitude was so welcoming, and friendly, whilst maintaining professionalism.. Just one thing to point out my twin room had plastic flooring and my bed was on wheels, so just a bit of a health and safety point. I was unaware the bed was on wheels, so when I first went to sit on it it moved and I nearly ended up on the floor. Just a minor point. Thank you XXX

Great mid-range hotel option in Dublin’s Docklands. Convenient location with a tram stop directly outside the hotel doors. Well equipped and spacious rooms - our room benefited from a terrace balcony which was a lovely addition. We had breakfast at the hotel on one morning of our stay and it was an extensive selection of continental and cooked options. Plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options available for breakfast if required.

I'll start with the fact that this place serves amazing breakfasts! The money value for how clean the bathroom was - terrible though. Mold, spider webs hanging from the ceiling and dirty walls/floor are difficult not to notice when the place is actually getting cleaned. But it wasn't. More than £200 for one night in such conditions? Absolutely not. The balcony glass door was dirty too. Please hire better cleaners.

My partner and I stayed at the Gibson Hotel for a three day trip to Dublin. The rooms were spacious with a decent size bathroom. The location is definitely not very central but it’s easy to get around with the tram stop right outside and it’s quiet at night. The room was overall clean but definitely a lot of wear and tear in the bathroom and carpets and the shower did not have a consistent temperature which was slightly annoying. Comfortable bed and very friendly and attentive staff. The breakfast buffet was good but definitely on the expensive side.

The hotel was nicely updated and modern. Had a room facing an inside courtyard with trees that gave it some atmosphere. Tho the hotel was right across from Arena 3, we didn't have noise issues from concerts. The room itself was similar to aloft hotel in the states---comfortable but modular furnishings. The reception staff was curt. Breakfast buffet was good. The hotel location was reasonable--easy walk or cab ride to most tourist locations in Dublin

My partner & myself could not fault any part of our experience at the Gibson Hotel. We had an absolutely amazing time. The hotel & room were beautiful and spotlessly clean. The staff were very kind and welcoming and they could not have been any more accommodating. You're team are doing a fantastic job, keep doing what you're doing! We will 1000% be back to the Gibson again & are so looking forward to it. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Gibson Hotel! This hotel is an amazing location, especially with it being right beside the tram station that takes you into Downtown Dublin! The rooms are clean and have air conditioning and nice showers! The restaurant inside serves an amazing authentic Irish breakfast, and the hotel is also in a safe location which is very key! I enjoyed my stay here and would return to this hotel again in future Ireland visits.

Very good Hotel nearby the City Center. Very good breakfast. Good conditions for the parking Garage (16 €). The bar was very modern and large, however we like it a little bit more traditionel.

  • 4/5 David R. 7 months ago on Google
This hotel has amazing modern architecture, a great restaurant, and even better customer service. It is located close enough to downtown Dublin that you can get there in a few minutes but far enough away to be quiet at night. The only bad thing I have to say about it is that the water in the shower can't hold a consistent temperature.

Fantastic hotel located right next to 3 Arena and the Red Luas line. Very friendly staff, top class rooms and both a bar and restaurant serving food. The buffet breakfast was top class along with dinner we had in the restaurant featured in the TV show ‘First Dates’. The large suite that we had had great facilities including tea and coffee along with a fridge.

We had a very enjoyable stay, access to the City with the Luas stop right outside is brilliant. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The in room "extras" for our package were beautifully presented. Our meal was very enjoyable, very tasty and the service was friendly and efficient. If we had a negative comment it's that public areas are a bit chilly. We would recommend The Gibson for a stay in Dublin.

Really nice hotel. Interesting relaxation room with a wet and dry sauna as well as two bath tubs on the patio and a foot soak which I’ve never seen before. Restoration was going on. We had a patio door that you can walk out on but it’s kind of a strange area that nobody would want to go out there…

We stayed here after attending a show in the 3Arena and we really enjoyed our stay here. The room was big, clean and spacious. The staff were very attentive and polite. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the wait staff in particular were lovely. The only reason I took 1 off, was the bar/lounge area is a bit like a waiting are, the chairs were so uncomfortable.

Fantastic hotel, family room was spacious and beautifully decorated, we had dinner in the restaurant, food and service was fabulous! Had lunch in the restaurant/bar, we were served by Eric, who was soo lovely and friendly, he's actually the reason we give 10 stars, he couldn't have been nicer or any more helpful, brilliant! 10 out of 10, we will definitely return, one of the nicest hotels and staff

Great location just outside of the city centre but with a few restaurants below & a tram stop right outside the front door. 15 minute drive to the airport. Staff were lovely & helpful, even when I asked to change from a twin to a double room upon check in, everything was catered for. Nice breakfast and huge, modern & sleek rooms.

You’re better off staying in a hostel. The doormen on the night of Inhaler took pleasure in seeing my disabled mother struggle to enter the building and wouldn’t even let me assist her to her room as apparently her room was only ‘for one’. Staff at hotel are unhelpful and I’d recommend you stay literally anywhere else. The only positive is the that U2 artwork on the wall is really cool. Everything else is a no. Especially the staff.

From our first stay in this hotel we knew it was going to be a favourite when visiting Dublin.. have stayed many times both for gigs in the 3 arena and for family breaks. Super friendly staff and fabulous breakfasts

Reception was freezing due to open plan nature and tall ceilings. Staff were friendly. Rooms were a really good size. The bed was massive and was really comfortable. Amazingly well situated for 3 Arena

  • 3/5 Dave F. 2 years ago on Google
Booked superior room. Room was small in size, with fairly basic decor and amenities. Had a balcony door which couldn't be left open, so no option for natural ventilation. Air con was poor, barely cooling the room and the fan was extremely noisy.

Not overly pleased with our stay. We were greeted with a 30 min long queue just to check in, even though we had already done so online, but the ‘advanced check in’ desk was shut. We later came down for some food and the waiter pretty much ignored us. We asked for food menus which he brought over, and never came back to actually take the order. I had to get up and find another member of staff. The food was good and came out pretty quickly, but such slow service. We stayed here for 2 nights are noticed no one had cleaned our room in between, so no tea/coffee/milk refill or towel change. Generally the facilities and rooms are nice, bed was comfy and it was quiet. Just a massive let down from the points mentioned above.

Unique hotel, from the reception area to the restaurant. This hotel is very refreshing in its design, the rooms are stylish with a fantastic shower. The restaurant staff were attentive and pleasant while the food and cocktails were delicious. I'll definitely return.

Very disappointed as soon as the bar stopped serving they opened a door to let the cold in so you would leave to your rooms as quickly as possible felt intimidating having a bouncer like person telling you to get out and go to bedroom it was like closing time in temple bar. very Pleasant bar staff serving dinner

Very nice hotel, the restaurant is great, with lovely food all three courses were delicious and breakfast is great too.The rooms are large and we'll equipped and the staff friendly.Great location for the 3arena seconds away from the front door.Only downside to the hotel is the front lobby is very cold I mean freezing we visited in late November it's a big lobby I understand that but not sure the builders thought it through properly, also the fan to control the heating in our room was very loud so much so you would have to turn it off to sleep,so maybe you need new fans, without the fan running the room was cold. Finally the parking for the hotel needs to be better sign posted, only when you are in the multistory is there a sign to tell you that the parking for the Gibson hotel is in that multistory.

Beautiful hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Ideal location for attending concerts. Hotel felt cold at reception and in the room. Only negatives from an otherwise nice experience.

  • 2/5 Gearalt O D. 2 years ago on Google
We arrived to check in at 3pm, as we were told that our room would be ready then, our room was not ready until 4. We were left waiting in a cold uncomfortable reception area. Staff seemed unconcerned about our wait. Room was basic, a wee bit grubby with stains on carpet and furniture. Restaurant was good and staff in the restaurant were very attentive, if we hadn't used the restaurant i would've only given 1 star. Overall not a great experience, more like a budget chain hotel than a 4 star.

Great city location Luas stop right outside and right beside the 3 Arena, ideal location if you are attending a concert. Excellent staff, very friendly and attentive. Food was of a very high standard, but it was a limited menu, more bar food menu than restaurant. We booked an executive double room, but I'm afraid it was far from executive in size with no views. It was badly in need of some TLC. The carpet was stained and paint was chipped and the entrance to a slightly elevated bathroom was marked. The only redeeming feature was an excellent rain shower. The breakfast was super with lots of choice and again wonderful staff. Would I go back of course I would.

rooms were nice and fairly clean but the staff was pretty hit or miss. some were incredibly friendly, some were rude and fairly useless. service was especially bad in the conference room/dinner/welcome orientation for my group but the restaurant was pretty bad as well. front desk was exceptional however and house keeping was awesome! I will say, it's fairly apparent that the management is not personally following up on quality throughout the hotel. there were a lot of little things not up kept like for example my shower door handle was completely loose and about to fall off. I would stay here again but there's definitely room for improvement.

We loved this hotel and would definitely stay again! Location was perfect, the breakfast is the absolute best we had on our entire trip of Ireland staying at 4 other hotels. Highly recommend. My favorite part was the shower with the waterfall head and you can switch to a handheld.

Stayed for a week to attend concert at 3 arena and to just visit the city. Breakfast every morning was fantastic! Help at the front desk and in bar and dining was always cheerful and professional. They earned the five stars

Hotel is in a great location. Room was basic - fridge in room but turned off? Smart TV but no Netflix/Prime/YouTube working? Asked Reception 3/4 times and it never got fixed for 3 night stay. Breakfast is average.

The room was spacious, and the decor was modern. The bathroom was also quite spacious. Most of the staff were friendly. Getting to and from the hotel and the city centre is very easy, as the Luas stops right outside the front door, meaning that you can be on O'Connell Street in ten minutes. I cannot comment on the restaurant or bar, as I did not use these facilities. However, the overall experience was mixed. There were various stains and scuffs on the carpet, walls and furniture in the room. The coat hangers were broken and were not securely fixed to the wall. The shower consistently leaked due to a missing piece of plastic sealant between the door and the adjacent glass panel. The shower itself was alright, but the water temperature was fairly inconsistent. The kettle lead was so short that the kettle didn't sit flat on the counter surface, regardless of which socket in the room we used. The staff were fairly friendly, but weren't particularly helpful at times. We reported the shower leak on our second or third day (of six) and were told that someone would fix it the following day, but the problem was never seen to. Check-in was also quite laborious - only two of the three desks were in use, and when asked about why there was such a long wait the concierge replied with "oh, it's always like this". It would make sense to preemptively have more staff ready to help with check-in so that customers don't have to queue for 45-60 minutes in the lobby.

Location ideal for 3Arena - stayed there overnight as we took in The Script Concert. Great buzz. Vibrant. Modern and most unusual layout with Reception on the 3rd floor but it works. Spacious rooms. Service excellent. Scrumptious breakfast with so much choice. Colours vibrant and warm. Very calm oasis with views looking out onto the River Liffey and Docklands from the bar and restaurant on the 3rd floor and directly across from the 3Arena.

Attended a conference at the Gibson hotel. Really lovely, modern, nice facilities. Wasn't difficult to get to and the area has really improved, with museums, the Liffey, concert venues nearby. Nice walk into the city centre. There was a cold buffet lunch which was very nice, fresh and tasty. As I wasn't staying I don't know what the rooms were like.

The Gibson is a really nice hotel with great amenities, friendly service, and comfortable rooms. Hotel has a coffee/alcohol bar and a nice restaurant on premises. Very nice concierge service. Location is really good and easy access to team, just outside main entrance, only very minor location issue and can also be a plus is that it's at the end of the line and not centrally located in Dublin. Tram hours are good, but not for early morning starts.

  • 5/5 Eamonn M. 1 year ago on Google
Absolutely the perfect place to stay if you have an event in the 3arena. It's literally right in front of it and is so handy. There's also a Luas stop right in front of the hotel too. Rooms are very nice and very airy. Can't go wrong with the Gibson hotel. They even made us a pizza at 3am. Great service.

Stayed here for one night a few weeks back in a two person room. The room itself was fairly spacious with a good view of Dublin, plus the bathroom was large and accommodating. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful despite our late arrival and early morning departure, with special thanks to Gloria at the front desk for taking the time to answer our questions flawlessly, she was great! The only downside is the price but it wasn't that bad considering how close you are to the 3 Arena and the City Centre itself.

Had a lovely stay at the Gibson. Above all, I found the staff consistently friendly and attentive. A particular shout-out is deserved to Muhammad (Ali) who works in the bar area. He is the best and made our stay truly memorable!

  • 4/5 Ciro M. 2 years ago on Google
Let's start with the positive aspects: hotel located one step away from the tram and this makes it convenient to quickly reach the center. Excellent breakfast nothing was missing. Downsides: Inattentive staff and poor service. Poor room maintenance. The cleaning of the room despite having been requested was not done. For me this is a good 3 star certainly not 4.

We stayed in room 688, overall our stay was pleasant. The reason I marked 3/5 is because of the following Bedroom There were rips/ frays in the corner of the decorative cushions and the bedding smelt a bit funny, slightly burnt, like the sheets had been in the dryer too long. However the room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Dining We had dinner in the Hemi Bar before the concert and it was fine, a better variety of dishes would have been nice all that was available was a burger, sandwich, curry or a salad, it gave off the impression that there wasn't much thought or care put into the menu. The menu itself was just a sheet of paper and didn't have half as much on it as advertised on your website. We had 2 love potion cocktails, which were delicious. The first round were beautifully presented, however the second round, left much to be desired, they still tasted lovely but the foam at the top from the egg white was non existent, it came out chalky and cloudy, with little foam and looked unappealing. My husband said that the bar had gotten significantly busier and that was why, maybe don't put your poor bar staff under so much pressure and roster more people on when there's concerts. Staff For the most part the staff were pleasant to deal with, there were a few who weren't very friendly, it made us feel as though we were wasting their time by ordering dinner. Staff on reception though were a pleasure to deal with, they made us feel very welcome and were very helpful. We would stay again when we're attending a concert at the 3 Arena but I couldn't see ourselves staying here if we weren't attending a concert
