Nice museum if you are interested on the Irish writer's history, but doesn't worth the 7,50 euro they charge you.

I found it very interesting to learn how many influential writers were from Ireland and Dublin. Each section of the museum had in depth details. You could spend a few hours there reading the information. They also had audio guides that gave a small amount of information and background on each writer. So depending on how in depth you want the experience you could listen to each section and be done within an hour or you can stay and read each poster as well.

This museum is definitely for the hardcore literature fans! A compact museum which celebrates Ireland’s contribution to the arts! I really loved the museum as a venue - stunning setting and possible inspirations for some of the reading rooms from the Harry Potter movie series

It should amalgamate with The James Joyce Centre as while the building is an elegant example of its time, the contents are sparse and border on amateur. Clearly they do not own enough manuscripts and original material to warrant the museum’s title. The cheerless front desk doesn’t help as they relieve you of your entry fee. Disappointing given my expectation on what it could have been. I’d bypass this place and head straight to the Francis Bacon exhibit in the gallery next door.

Dublin has produced some incredible writers over the years and this museum honours them. There are exhibits dedicated to writers like Samuel Beckett, Oscar Wilde and, of course, James Joyce. There’s a lot of reading here, as you would expect, but there’s also an audioguide to help you through the visit.

Very informative and intimate venue that is both historic and accessable. I have been at events here and was touring as a visitor of its exhibits. In walking distance of the main city, it's safe enough a location as long as the tourist is applying common sense and is streetwise. Staff in the museum are helpful.

(Translated by Google) nice little museum; much better than expected with detailed information in your own language. I liked that very much. 2 hours time you should plan. A good few artifacts in this fabulous period house. Not overwhelming; allow about an hour and a half to see everything.

While I enjoyed it, it is not worth the 7,50€ price of admission even though the building is beautiful and you can see some.

Lived in the city for years and didn't know this gem was here a great tribute to some of Ireland's finest writer's. The works of Wilde, Beckett, Joyce are kept here along with many more definitely worth a visit if you come to the city.

While this was generally interesting and brimming with information, it's not child-friendly. While it ostensibly only has two rooms, we were there for a good 2.5h which was well worth the price of the family ticket. However, as mentioned above, we found the density of the text placards to not be very favourable for children (or people with Dyslexia) and came up with our own worksheet to keep our 8yr old entertained. Aside from that (probably our own fault - we did very little research beforehand) we found the museum very interesting. The breath of information presented was a lot more than I would have expected, and I've come away with some new female authors for my reading list.

Very bad staff. It doesn't say ANYWHERE that it closes at lunchtime. When we got there (12h30) the staff told us it was going to close and only open at 14h15.

English literature students who have read their History of Literature books thoroughly, may not benefit much from this museum. The pros however include early copies of famous works displayed here and the paintings of rare painters. The audio guide is a great help. The the curator is a jolly person with a good sense of humour.

Interested in Irish authors and poets? Then the Dublin Writers Museum is worth a stop. Many exhibits and the audio tour is included in the very reasonable ticket price. Don't miss the bookstore in the back of museum.

Delightful, interesting and unsung place, giving a lot for a little cost. Particularly liked the Women in Literature display, counterbalance to the more well known male writer history. Well worth a visit.

Lots of interesting information to read. Audio tour gave a good abridged version. It's a bit dark in there but I think it may have to do with preserving the books and display items, not sure.

(Translated by Google) The entrance is expensive in relation to the precariousness of the museum. Except for some first editions, the rest is matter that can be consulted in wikipedia, I had more expectations. (Original) La entrada es cara en relación a lo precario del museo.
