Saturday 25th June 23.30/12 approx. I just arrived with my friends to the pub and we went directly to the bar upstairs, I went to the edge of the counter and I ordered a jameson with ginger ale from a really nice barman, I payed over 10 euros for a drink (served in a plastic glass). When I was going to drink I realized my glass was leaking, I was in the edge of the counter and I tried to get the attention of the other barman (wearing a sport t-shirt with black and yellow strips) making signs to him with my arms and putting my upper body ahead as a reactive response, the guy started yelling at me saying that I was into the bar and that I needed to get out, I wasn't in fact inside of the bar and I said so to the employee, I just said I needed another glass as mine was leaking, the employee with the yellow and black shirt kept yelling really aggressively towards me, and I kept asking for a glass, then the employee took my drink from the counter and threw it into the sink looking at me and showing me the middle finger, I was on shock and I asked to talk to the manager, the manager came explaining that once you came into the bar the employee has the right to say whatever, I explained that I wasn't in fact inside of the bar and that the employee threw my drink to the sink and showed me the middle finger and his response was that the employee said I threw the drink to the floor - if the barman said that, the barman is lying. The manager then said he would check the cameras to see what actually happened later that night as he was really busy at that moment. I cannot belive either the manager and the staff will treat any costumer like this, they did not replace my drink neither apologized for this behavior, I hope when the CCTV is checked the owner of this establishment takes appropriate action in relation to both employees.

Really cute bar! Great for date night or catch up with a group of friends. Really like the bar set up and the lighting. Great deals like 2 for Tuesday and 2 for one on Wednesday. Would recommend!

Very interesting place situated on a small and beautiful street nearby Grafton st. It's spacious, loud music but very good playlist. A large selection of drinks, but no food. Not sure about the option if you can order or grab some food from next door take away. The staff is very friendly and quick service. I would recommend this place for 2 people or large groups, plenty of space for everyone, nice atmosphere. Outside there are heaters with fire, pretty cool.

I've been to the bar a good few times but this time we where upstairs for a function. The place is ideal for whatever party you need it for and smacked right in the centre of Dublin. Lovely atmosphere with great cocktails and good Guinness with friendly staff what more do you want.

The location is nice. It's quite big and modern. The drinks are expensive though but normal for Dublin prices I think. But I ordered a Diet Coke and that's seriously what I got. Bottle half full for 3€. I asked the barkeeper girl where the rest is and she just looked and me like "well bad luck" and showed me the POS machine.... I payed 3€ for that. That's not costumer friendly.

Sat outside with my wife and friends and one of the staff who said he was the manager turned off the heater at our table and when we asked why he said there expensive bit didn't turn off any other tables heater. When we asked for the manager he said I'm the manager and it is what it is. A disgraceful attitude and really bad service, I'll never step foot in this place ever again because of the way we were treated.

Was in here early on in the afternoon for Dublin Pride. Stopped in here for a drink with a friend. Ordered a cocktail and a vodka and 7up. Ended up getting the cocktail and 2 vodka and 7ups by mistake... No problem, an easy miscommunication, I'll pay for it, don't want it to go to waste. Bartender came over with the card machine, charged me €30.80 for a cocktail and 2 vodkas...absolute rip off... I got the cocktail and 1 vodka and 7up...had to remind the barman that I just paid for 2... Got all my drinks and went outside... It was a miniscule ammount of vodka and cheap white lemonade... Didn't even get 7up and had to pay over €30... Not a good experience

Had a group gathering here. By far the friendliest place to deal with bookings - other venues make ordering €€€€ food platters per person mandatory, a ridiculous idea, but anyway we’re glad we had our event at 4DL. After multiple request attempts, we finally were guaranteed a spot in the loft (downstairs really isn’t suitable for a larger group - unless you want to stand the entire night) but it was a great night. Drinks are nice - bartenders are open to non-menu requests. I dock a star because 1: the music gets way too loud past a certain time meaning that you can hardly hear who you’re speaking to and you wake up the next morning hoarse/with no voice and 2: getting to the toilets (two floors down) from the loft when you’re bursting, tipsy and in heels is probably the worst part of the night

At 7pm with almost nobody there tables were very dirty, same for the toilet but nobody seemed to care. Same story for covid certificate, nobody checked anything. Spritz is too watery. The upper floor is very cold as the place has no glasses in the windows, you're literally freezing if you seat in a corner.

Do you like post-work evening or the night with friends? Well this is one of that place to spend a fabulous time all together, drinking and listening to music (sometimes live music).

I visited this disco bar on a very busy bank holiday Sunday. I was shocked at the energy and enthusiasm from all of the bar staff. It was extremely clean and very well kept. The DJ was playing fantastic music and the bathrooms were immaculate. Highly recommend this location with friends.

Drinks are super well made by a prof bartender and taste soooo good. Remember to watch them making your drinks. 4 Dame Lane is a very nice place and newly renovated.

Function upstairs, wedding party day 2 gathering & World Cup rugby match. Live music for a while. Great service at bar. Could do with few more bar stools around edge of room even if leaving floor table free. Folk can tire standing if 3-4 hours without same.

Fun place to pop into. Decent cocktails but better elsewhere. The staff are the shining moment for Dame Lane, always friendly and quite quick depending on the night you're in (not their fault - I'm talking about how busy it is). Will be back

This was a place which I felt was a secret pub situated in an undisclosed location! It was lit with minimal lighting but great ambience. It's appropriate for college parties and hangout

I was at a private function here. We were upstairs in the Loft. The sound equipment kept breaking down. The trays of food arrived initially without napkins. The food itself was passable. There was one toilet upstairs for everyone which would need to be cleaned properly. Disappointed. 😞

Music too loud in my opinion, don't hear anything people were saying to me. Otherwise cool place

Nice decor with a good singer. Shame the establishment is let down by staff who are slow and don't manage the bar well.

We hosted our event here on a Saturday night. The space was lovely, perfect for a mixer where people were encouraged to talk to each other. The staff were extremely helpful and communicative all night, couldn't recommend this venue more for a meetup with a young and energetic vibe.

Nothing special. Quite big, there is the place to dance. But music is so-so and the sound seems to be low quality or not well oriented in the room. Therefore there is another room upstairs (with the exact same ambiance, same music, so I wonder what's the sense.. 😅) A part from that it's quite different from the other pubs around so it worth visiting.

Service was OK. TV is on a side wall & kept losing the picture. It would've been much better on the end wall. Then after the rugby ,the music was too loud for us.

Great bar service, a joy to watch the staff deliver some excellent cocktails. Drinks selection is good plenty of choices, don’t be surprised by the post COVID Dublin prices! Chilled out atmosphere pumps up as the night progresses, good mix in the crowd but come here for the Music, hits the mark for all ages gets the dance vibe going, and the collection of vinyl sleeves on the wall is a great addition for the GenX’ers.

Great location, great atmosphere. Bar staff started lovely the male told us we could come in for one before closing up. We ordered, He proceeded to raise his voice at the female bar staff (who was extremely calm, mannerly and friendly) before turning to us asking “WHAT?!” My friend wanted, she informed him only a lime, I think he realises his mistake and handed out the bowl. Great spot but i was appalled by the way the male staff member treated the female staff member who was nothing but nice to us throughout our visit

Guys. stop adding 50 cents or 1 euro to beer bill. Every time I get here, they count me on the card incorrectly. it’s embarrassing to ask for 50 cents every time I don’t feel like it, but this leaves an unpleasant aftertaste.

We were lucky to get a seat outside as the bar was very busy and there was a severe lack of masks inside the bar. The bar was two deep with only staff wearing masks.

I think not much people know this place. Its really good place to party. Small space, good music and good people around. Although LIT was pathetic 🙈

Great to be back out seeing friends. Music much louder than I remember, really difficult to talk and catch up and this was only at 8pm. Service was good which it always is. Friendly smiles at the door and good covid policies in place.

  • 2/5 Nihada O. 2 years ago on Google
A big let down. Not worth the costs. Music was the same techno the whole night. Drinks are overpriced. Small. But not too bad. Although they do have nice seating. And staff are not the nicest.

Booked for a group of 18 for a birthday party and had a great night. The staff were very accommodating and kind, and the venue was perfect. The bar then turned into a club later on in the night which we really enjoyed and we stayed until late. The booking process was made simple by the fantastic staff, and special requests were listened to and fulfilled thoroughly. Would definitely go again.
