Chilli Banana

Cocktail bar Wine bar Thai restaurant

🫤 Friendly staff but the food was a let down. For the price, there was very little - we were definitely expecting more. I have had better Thai food at different places. People often mention staff, service, good, excellent, lovely,

My family and I have been to chilli banana a couple of times before and the food was excellent. But tonight the food was a great let down.First of all, their staff service was great but after our appetisers for our main course was a good long wait (about 55 mins), but when we finally got our meal we realised everything that we ordered were cold! We also ordered the sizzling beef but when it got to our table it was lukewarm and was not sizzling?!? The meal portions were very little according to the price which was definitely not worth it . We hope to see some improvements in food potions , taste and presentation , in the future, (No Coming Back )

Firstly staff are excellent, main course was superb. Pineapple duck was a delight but the deserts are not their strong point. I've tried more than one desert....toberlone cheesecake is unfortunately quiet bad...the base in this desert tastes as if there is paper still left in it. I'm sorry but starters and mains are 100%.

Really like this restaurant. The food is always good and the service is excellent. The only fault I have with the place is it feels a little cramped, with the tables very close together. Doesn't normally bother me though after a couple of beers 😀.

Food excellent and brilliant service from Sylvia. As a coeliac she ensured that I ate very safely. Chef's willing to adapt meals ensure I could eat safely. Excellent food and service

A lovely hidden gem in Drumcondra. Myself and my partner had to be up that end for an event later in the evening and we wanted to go somewhere for food first. We looked on Google for anything kinda closeby and we stumbled upon chilli banana. Both a fan of Thai food we said we would give it a go and we are so happy we did. The staff are very polite and nice, they have cobra on draught (definitely recommend) and the food was absolutely phenomenal. Really couldn't fault it at all.

We have enjoyed 2 beautiful dishes. 1 off Duck with crispy noodles. 1 off Sizzling prawns. Accompanied by a very good Chardonnay. No pictures because I was too hungry to wait.

I have been to Chilli Banana many times and have always had a great time food, wine and service amazing. I went last Saturday and my sister was with me and really looking forward to eating here as I keep telling her she would love. When we arrived there was no staff on floor and then they were busy bringing food to tables only one member of staff acknowledged us and eventually we were checked off the bookings and brought to our seats and Lady I don't know her name did apologise for leaving us standing there. We were in a corner and nobody came to take our order and at this stage we were starving so I called a waiter and were sorted. The dishes we ordered were gorgeous and then we ordered a dessert a sticky toffee pudding which we shared but it's always amazing except ours was stuck to the plate and looked hard a little over half way down like as whatever way it was heated it was left too long. We didn't eat much as it was so hard and couldn't get the spoon in and we did say it to the waiter who did agree with us but that was it. All in all it was a lovely evening but as I recommended Chilli Banana to so many people and they all love it but just take care of the little details to keep the overall experience 100 % as it always is.

We ate here tonight and as a Coeliac and therefore needing a gluten free meal, I was very impressed. The decor is lovely, the food was delicious and the service was excellent. I would absolutely recommend.

Had a lovely midweek meal here. Food, staff, wine and setting was lovely. Had been going here for years before living abroad. Love to come here when visiting Dublin.

Nice cosy restaurant. Main courses were still as nice as ever, but we all agreed that the lemongrass soup wasnt quite as nice as it used to be and the satay skewer for starters was small and tastted quite bland.

Went here for Valentines dinner. Had the early bird menu, which has a great choice of food on it. €21 for two courses is very cheap for Dublin too. Got a lovely bottle of wine to go with it and asked for the starters at the same time as the mains, which was no problem for the staff. They were very attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was served quickly and the desserts were warm, which was amazing. Would definitely recommend a visit here.

Nice and busy place with good wine. Make sure you have reservations. I had better pad Thai in different places. Lemon grass soup 5/10. Very good desserts.
