Was actually headed to another restaurant it they were full so they recommended The Chophouse. I was promptly greeted as I entered. I did not have a reservation and it was 7 pm on a Friday night but they gave me a lovely table in the bar area. They bring water to the table. They had a great cocktail list. And many beers and wines. I ordered the fish and chips. It arrived quickly and was piping hot. The portion size was perfect. And the flavor was delicious. Several servers took care of me and they were all very friendly. I would definitely one back.

Everything about our visit was fantastic. Four of us visited and had steak, lamb, and salmon. The steaks were perfectly prepared. The lamb was "delicious" (with feeling). The salmon came on a sort of bouillabaisse that was one of the best I've had in the US or Europe. The drinks and cocktails were above average (solid wine list). Finished it off with sticky toffee pudding and coffee that was very satisfying. Additionally, our service was fantastic. The waiter went out of his way to be welcoming. The restaurant feels cozy and intimate, so it feels like you're at a real gem. One of the best restaurants we've been to. In the running for the top of the list.

My wife and I had an amazing dinner of steaks 🥩. The service was attentive and friendly, the food was superb, and the general atmosphere was jovial. Definitely one of the best culinary experiences in Dublin (and there are quite a few).

Was there for Sunday lunch with 3 siblings. I had spicy king prawns for starter and Slaney rump of lamb for mains. The prawns were really good and tasted very moreish. The lamb was served with duck fat potatoes and veg and this dish was also excellent. Beautifully prepared and very well presented. The staff were very friendly and helpful with choices. All 4 of us were agreed that this is a seriously good restaurant and will definitely get more visits from us.

Got a table as a walk-in for 1 (on business) and although they were fully booked, the manager kindly got me a table anyway. What stunning food, great service and a lovely restaurant. I can't wait to visit again sometime soon. Asian Spiced Beef Salad 5/5 Classic Fish n Chips 4/5 Finished off with an Irish coffee Highly recommended restaurant

Summary: Amazing Christening meal - Joe is fantastic! We booked our baby daughters Christening meal for our immediate family in The Chophouse. Prior to the meal I met with Joe who manages it to discuss what I wanted on the menu as well as the day I had planned. He was amazing to deal with from start to finish - so professional. An asset to The Chophouse! The food on the day was brilliant; so tasty and the portions were great. Both of our families had a brilliant day. Thank you Joe & team. We will be back!

The best meal I had in Ireland! We were a group of 7 and everyone chose something different from the menu. We each tasted each others plates and not one of them had a single thing wrong with them. All perfect. The wine selection is great, after dinner cocktails (fantastic espresso martini) and great vibes with the staff and ambiance. I tell everyone I know visiting Dublin about this restaurant. Our group was visiting from Toronto Canada.

Very good restaurant, not too loud but I heard since there are no more people Allowed at the bar, it is a little more quite. The steaks tasted good and delicious! They have a variety of beers and gin. The Dessert was great as well. The waiter was nice and helpful. Reservations are recommend.

This was amazing food , the best fish and chips we ever ate. The fish board was also fantastic as was the duck. The house guiness and treacle bread was also gorgeous. Service was friendly , attentive and professional from our lovely waitress. The dining area was very tastefully decorated and toilets were spotless with nice touches. Looking forward to returning already

We had a team dinner here. It was a nice atmosphere with polite waiters. The food is also amazing. I had duck breasts, it was well flavored.

One of the most divine food experiences I’ve had. The cocktails were excellent! We had the cherry blossom and the maple old fashioned, they were perfect. The food was absolutely delicious and service was excellent! Definitely recommend if you are visiting Dublin. If I could rate more I would rate 12/10!

The Chophouse has been on my list of places to go for ages. I remember sampling the steak at Taste of Dublin. The food is top quality, it's the best meal I've had without question. I'd vote for the steak as one of the best in Ireland. Not a fancy restaurant but enjoyed a few pints and and some nice cocktails. Wine list is pretty decent too. Staff were also really nice, down to earth and plenty of chat. Such a nice touch when they brought out a cake for my wife as it was her birthday. I genuinely can't wait to come back, definitely gonna try the Sunday lunch.

Food is incredible. I had the prawns to start and steak for the main. Could not recommend the chophouse highly enough. A warm friendly ambiance with professional service of the highest calibre. I love a nice Sunday evening in the chophouse! Owner is also a real gentleman. 10/10

I have been looking for a good steak in Ireland and this is it! Calamari is just as delicious. Service was impeccable from the moment I arrived. I splurged a bit with this meal and it was worth every cent. I will definitely come back next time I'm in town.

Nice place, good (but salty) food. The chef needs to check the amount of salt. Overall it was a good experience. Hope to come again.

Fantastic food and service. Just do not go there on a tight budget! But, the prices reflect the area where it is located. Very conveniently close to Aviva Stadium.

I had been here several years ago and had a great experience with high quality food. Even Anthony Bourdain raved about the place. But the pandemic appears to have taken it's toll. No longer do they have the theatrical show of the cuts of meat you can choose from. Instead we were bizarrely told upfront that everyone in our medium sized group had to order a main course. As it happens we didn't but still racked up a hefty bill. The prices are pretty steep (my striploin steak was 44 EUR) but we were splashing out for a steakhouse meal with friends. So the expectation was excellence. Sadly it was not. The quality of the meat was good but it was beyond charred on the outside. In truth it was burnt. This was true also for the others in my group too. Cocktails were average. The fish dishes were good. Our server was charming and attentive. As someone who wants to support local restaurants, it pains me to say that this was not a great experience and I doubt I would go back unless prices come down or quality goes up.

Went for dinner here with a gang from work. Food was really fab. I had the ribeye and it was done perfectly (med-rare for me). Scallops for starter. All delicious. Server's were great. Highly recommended.

Sadly, the food wasn't as good as it used to be and quite expensive for lunch. But the staff were very friendly and the outside dining was lovely. I would return again, hoping it's back to it's former glory with all the yummy food

I have been recommending this place to everyone since my dinner there on Wednesday. The gnocchi starter was genuinely the nicest starter I've ever had. The staff were really friendly and we never felt we were waiting to get their attention, they were on the ball he entire night. When we finished dinner our waiter brought us out to the front and even got me a blanket to keep me warm! So impressed and will definitely be back!

Good steakhouse, friendly service and generous portions. Good for a weekday team lunch if you’re in Ballsbridge.
