Fabulous Irish food for a great price. The place outside looks like a fairy tale and, inside like a typical Irish pub with loads of details. Loving the food and the atmosphere. We will go back for sure.

My wife and I came here for our Anniversary dinner at 715pm. We chose the carvary. However it wasnt long before we regretted our choice. The servers were rude. We felt rushed thru. They handed my wife her sandwich n pushed her thru w.o any offer of veggies or anything. She asked for a side of peppercorn sauce n was told they had none. They ignored her as she was asking for veggies. I had my plate already. She then said screw it n we went on while they rushed to the next people. She ordered a turkey sandwich. It was dry n not good. I ordered the lamb. The lamb was very good. The veggies good. I ordered the raspberry cheesecake. It was barely chilled. Lacked much flavor. The raspberry drizzel was like glue on the plate. Not impressed. Kids screaming n running all over. Hard to enjoy the atmosphere. I doubt id come back. If i did it would not be for the carvary.

The ambience and the vibe is great. Location is excellent. Great bit of history too. The carvery is absolutely gorgeous and one of the best in town. Parking at peak times could be a challenge

To be honest, In my opinion, this place has changed on the quality of Carvery food here post covid lockdown. The prices have gone up which is understandable in 2021 but the quality is way less than it used to be. Sloppy, watery cabbage with bits of stray carrots in, a half portion is €10 but you get way more in a half portion in comparable pubs in the area. Again, i know place like this are going through a hard time but food standard needs to remain top.

Lovely carvery lunch today. Very tasty . Very comfortable surroundings. The lady making sandwiches went out of her way to help a couple of old ladies who were slightly confused about the queuing system. She took time out and came out to the ladies and personally showed them what to do and where to go. Very helpful.

Lovely place for lunch. Food always good and fresh. Very comfortable and you can take your time. Only issue is it can be hard to get parking... but it is free!

The Halfway House in Ashtown offers a cozy, welcoming atmosphere with excellent service. Its rustic charm and delicious menu create an inviting experience. However, occasional wait times during peak hours might occur. Overall, a delightful spot for a relaxing meal!

Cracking food and a nice pint of Guinness. Will no doubt be enjoying the overspill from people not booking at Conor Mcgregor's bar - guilty. Nonetheless was really pleased and the steak sandwich was fantastic and good value.

I visit the halfway house regularly enough for food and a pint and I've never been disappointed. Good service, big portions, and the food always hits the mark. The carvery is one of the best around also. I'd recommend anyone to visit.

Big pub, lovely terrace outside with plenty of space. Friendly & helpful staff. The Guinness here is excellent, creamy and tasty. The interior design is beautiful too. I recommend it!

It was so lovely. The place is warm and welcoming, the TV a bit too loud for people who don't like football. I went for the salmon and it tasted great, perfectly baked and savoury. I would warmly recommend it.

Staff are exceptional! So friendly and very attentive. Had a small group booked for dinner last Saturday. Food was very tasty and very reasonably priced. If you like carvery you'll love this!!!

Nice service and atmosphere but it is so sad to see we won't be able to have dinner again as they had a fantastic vegan burger but some weeks ago they changed for a horrible one... The worst vegan burger I have ever eaten. A big lost in our list. Nowadays pubs should care more about offering a quality vegan option.

Went on Sunday for dinner, it was gorgeous, there was a bit of a line for the food but it moved quickly. The staff were all lovely and service was excellent. There is parking and the lovely parking attendant couldn't have been more accommodating

Lovely place to eat & drink. Clean, well maintained and has a nice "warm" feeling. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Yes, the car park is a little tight, but we managed fine. I look forward to our next visit.
