Booked for dinner before the theatre. Lovely choices on the menu including a warm vegan salad which was delicious. Brilliant atmosphere. Lovely staff. And great cocktails.

Myself and my partner have been customers at this restaurant for years now. I have to say that the staff and food have definitely downgraded. The only reason I am giving two stars and not one, is because the owner is extremely passionate and friendly and we’ve come here for years. I don’t usually write negative reviews but I was too disappointed with todays visit to not leave feedback. Beforehand when we ordered coffees, and if the waiter accidentally spilled them they would offer a new clean plate or offer to make another coffee. This is something that is expected. If you pay for a coffee you don’t expect the waiter to spill it on the table. However today one of the young waiter guys served the coffee and spilled it and walked away. This is what I mean by the staff downgraded, as in the past they would have offered to clean the spill. Secondly, I had ordered eggs Benedict and asked specifically for them to be medium. As in, the white part cooked and the middle runny. Just as many other customers, seeing an undercooked white part of the egg is definitely not appetising. The eggs were brought to me undercooked. I told the waiter that I asked for them medium and I also apologised as I don’t usually ask for plates to be brought back into the kitchen. He apologised and agreed that the egg was undercooked. For some reason, a second female waitress which didn’t serve us found the need to come out to our table and began debating that in fact the eggs were medium (despite the other waiter agreeing they were undercooked). I embarrassingly tried to explain to her that the white part was undercooked and that a medium cooked egg isn’t like that. She was extremely rude in her attitude. They brought the dish out again and I couldn’t believe that now, the eggs were over cooked. See picture below. I’ve had many poached eggs in my life and this is definitely not a medium egg, rather it is well done. On top of this the food was bland with little to no seasoning. Partner ordered pancakes and they were not the same as before. I didn’t finish the food and of course I still paid for the dish as it is fair. The owner apologised but the waitress didn’t even say have a nice day or thank you when we walked passed her. Great owner, incredibly rude waitress. I would’ve been ok with the dish if the waitress wouldn’t have made a point to come out and scold us on the eggs situation. More so the staffs attitude that made our visit at Herbstreet such an uncomfortable one.

Food was nice but nothing amazing. Slow service. We ordered the red pepper & chorizo hash, pancakes and waffles. Took 45 mins for food to arrive, other bigger groups had arrived, eaten and paid before we even got our food. We asked for an update on our order but we were ignored. The manager was quite rude about this and wasn't the nicest initially when we were waiting for our table. Gave us a bad impression before we even sat down. Pity because it had great reviews, but unfortunately wouldn't visit again.

This is undoubtedly the best brunch place in Dublin, they keep a good level of quality after many years, attentive and friendly staff, plus is located in the 'tech Getto'. Try the Benedict Eggs. Only constructive feedback from my side would be: freshly squeezed orange juice would be very welcome.

We have tried several places in Grand Canal but Herbstreet is the best brunch restaurant in terms of service and taste. Their food is amazing (Chicken Waffle and Full Irish is a must try!) and what we love is the kind service they’re giving us. Very attentive. And they have Mic’s Chili hot sauce which taste amazing! 100% will recommend this lovely place to everyone.

This restaurant has a direct view of the Gran Canal square. Stylish in the perfect way, with attentive, courteous service. We enjoyed our brunch here very much. Excellent Irish breakfast consisting of well cooked bacon and sausages, eggs, beans, and a delicious slice of a kind of vegie pie. We consumed everything. a touch more costly than typical, but the cost is appropriate given the quality.

There is a line at the entrance so if you can book in advance I strongly recommend you do that. The food is nice but don't order salmon the portion is small and the ricotta cheese is tasteless

One of my favourite brunch spots in town. I’ve been coming here for years and it’s always great to see the owner/manager so hands on.

Amazing as always. Great location for summer brunch with nice view. The pancakes are still incredible, probably the best I’ve had in a restaurant, after 8 years since i first tried them. The fried chicken was also great! Quick service too!

Since I live in Dublin this is my go to place for brunch/breakfast. The quality of the food is very high, both for the savory food but also for the sweets. Special mention must be made for the owner and the waiters, always kind and available to meet your requests. I advise you to book in advance, especially on weekends.

Great brunch spot on the Quay ! We went there around 1pm, not too crowded and very comfy. The food tasted amazing! We tried a big selection: french toast, eggs benedict, pancakes, irish coffees and orange juices. Special shoutout to our French waiter for the friendliness and good vibes !

Been here a few times, initially found it to be the best brunch place in Dublin, however lately after their chefs have changed the portion size, accompaniments with each dish and quality of food has dipped quite a bit I hope they get the old chef back as that experience was exquisite

Fab spot for brunch, would advise booking ahead as it was very busy. Staff friendly and blueberry pancakes were to die for. The orange butter was amazing and they did not skimp on the berries. Would go back again for sure.

I would put 5 starts - my favourite place in the Grand Canal Area :) Because of the people! Some of the nicest people in town. Also they recently changed menu and added more vegetarian options during the week!

Went here for Sunday brunch, this place seemed pretty booked up all weekend, so would advice pre booking well in advance. Fresh orange juice and delicious coffee. I got the French toast with banana, pecan and clotted cream. Couldn't fault it and staff were very attentive. My only hang up is we originally wanted to book for 4 people outdoors but the online booking system would only allow us book for 3. We arrived as a party of 3 to find an extra empty seat at our table, which could have accommodated 4.

We had another wonderful brunch here today! Staff as always were lovely and food was delicious! I would highly recommend.

We didn't have a reservation but they offered us a table after a little bit of a wait. There was a line of people waiting the whole time, a sign of how good it is. I got the cassava with smoked salmon, poached eggs and avocado, it was heavenly. It is usually spicy but they had no problem making it not spicy for me, such a nice service. It was delicious, all very fresh, runny eggs, heavenly salmon. My boyfriend ate the Irish breakfast and was also very satisfied. We'd come back if we're ever in dublin again 😃😃

This is an amazing place to eat. The food is tasty and the staff is beyond great. We had the chance of sitting outside with our puppy (myself and my partner) and they even brought a water bowl for our doggy. Not everywhere is dog friendly so it was highly appreciate it. Highly recommend this restaurant.

It’s a super nice brunch place on the weekend! It’s the top one that is located around grand canal docks which makes it nice for everyone living there. The quality of the food is insane, it’s super fresh, you have a large variety of dishes on the menu and everything tastes super nice. We were located on their terrace, when it’s sunny, you have the sun all over you, it’s super nice and the view of the canal is very pleasant too. The service is fast and gentle people. Id highly recommend to go there and try it out. We

Really great brunch place! Also some of the best coffee in Dublin. Make sure to reserve if you come on the weekend. On a sunny day it’s amazing to sit outside. We have had the pancakes, French toast, full Irish, and salmon plate and everything has been consistently great. Watch out, the French toast is VERY sweet :)

Great place for brunch. Haven't been able to try their lunch or dinner menu yet. Brunch is tasty and definitely we're going back to try more options. Good prices also.

Went her for brunch. Had the mussels, which were delicious. I regularly eat mussels and these were the best I had in a long time. Nice portion size too. My partner had the Eggs Benedit with ham, which were really good too. Looking forward to going back.

I had the popcorn shrimp po boy when I came to herbstreet about a year ago. I genuinely still dream about it sometimes but I unfortunately live in Germany so I can't eat it again any time soon... 😔 Staff was very friendly but you should definitely make a reservation beforehand if you're planning on visiting! :)

I booked a table here for Sunday brunch a couple of weeks ago and myself and my friend had the best experience. It was such a cool vibe in the spot and the food and service was perfect too. Don't miss this spot if you live in Dublin or you're a tourist just visiting the area.

Really good food for brunch and good value. But we had to wait 35 mins for our table we reserved and they never called us back. Good eggs florentine.

Delicious brunch here. Be careful to book before going otherwise you’ll have 1H time controlled brunch before being kicked out from your seat

Holy cow Hershey squirts! Had a lovely brunch. I recommend the Mexicalieggs and hubby got eggs Benedict. Son had chocolate whip cream short stack (3) pancakes which I didn’t put in pics bc there are loads of pancake pics here. You will not be disappointed. Service was spot on which can’t be said the same of most places these days due to no fault of the establishment of course. Bathrooms are clean, seating is spacious and not crowded. Love it and would come back. Only downside to coming into town is the shiet parking. We paid 5€ per hour at Q Park Grand canal. Not the restaurants fault for the rip off parking though. I would recommend.

Stopped in here for Saturday breakfast by myself before I flew home. The staff with some of the most friendly that I have seen anywhere. Latte hit the spot completely, and the eggs Benedict did not disappoint. Definitely recommend this to any traveler.

We ordered Glazed Sticky Chicken Salad and Gluten Free French Toast and it was just amazing, one of the bests brunch we’ve had in Ireland. We’ll come back for sure 🤩

Really nice food. Staff so nice, they were very busy and we hadn’t a booking but they moved some tables around to accommodate us. The hash was delicious as was the French toast. Didn’t try the pancakes but they looked incredible so will be back to try them! Good coffee too. Nice blankets for all the outside seating so fine to sit out even if the weather isn’t the best!

The food tasted fantastic. I forgot my prescription sunglasses and they saved them for me. The only suggestion I have is that they should include some leafy greens with balsamic glaze with their eggs Benedict. It felt like the plate was empty

Great brunch. Reasonable prices and very friendly staff. Might be long queues on weekends so it's always good to make a reservation.

Ordered the pancakes and eggs benny. Really good tasty food - I’ve tried a few places in Dublin for eggs and this was the best so far. The service was also really good - our server was Sonni and she gave us great recommendations! One weird thing though - with the pancakes we asked for maple syrup. They did give it but charged us 3 euros for a small amount of syrup. Didn’t expect charges for maple syrup with pancakes. But overall great experience. Would definitely come back
