Macari's Takeaway has the nicest chipper food in Ballymun (no longer true, see edit). The only takeaway that comes close is Angelos. Now, the only downside to this place is that it attracts a dangerous crowd like teens, substance dependents, and other people looking to start fights. I've been bothered by people inside and outside the chipper that makes the prospect of a collection anxiety inducing at times. The staff are really nice, patient and the service is quick. I've a few bad experiences with the food over a wide spectrum of orders through the years but generally the quality is fine. The fried chicken seems to be their weakest product, however. Edit: This chipper, much like other takeaways, has increased prices — Unfortunate. Edit 2: I forgot to mention this in the original review, but they have a loyalty programme: every 11th order receives a 20% discount. Before they raised their prices, this used to be a FREE meal. Unless you order regularly, this discount will cost you more money in the long run, as it has a short expiry. It's basic psychological tactics. When the 11th meal was free, it used to be worth ordering from the same takeaway, but now it no longer is. EDIT 3: They've increased prices again! 3.80 for a bag of chips; 😂 4.00 for a battered burger. 🤣 C'mon! Also, food quality has gone down the drain. Chips are so hard and stale. EDIT 4: Desperate for a chipper so I ordered for collection. Chicken fillet burger and chips were actually nice and fresh. FINAL EDIT: I'm done with this chipper. I haven't ordered in months and I'll likely never will again. Firstly, the food's quality has gone down the drain. The chips are stale, hard and not at all how you'd expect them to taste. But last order was okay! However, the place itself always has a large gang of dragged up scrotes hanging outside which makes it highly intimidating. Like I'm not messing when I say they're all outside the entrance. Sometimes they won't hassle you but all it takes is one scumbag to start and it's game over. The longer I live here, the more I hate Ballymun...

Ordered some food and my daughter got something extra in her chicken tenders, somebody's dirty rusty nose ring hook, I rang to complain and all the girl said was "I will check the rest of the tenders so it doesn't happen again🤔, she could have choked, disgraceful 😡, no call back? No management?, no reply? No f#%ks given???

The food quality has gone down quite a bit in the past year. This used to be one of the tastiest chipper's, but I don't know whether they have new chefs, recipes or suppliers, but something is pushing the quality down. If you absolutely do want food from here- I suggest ordering for delivery because there's virtually no parking at all anywhere near it. The spots that are outside the shop will usually be occupied by delivery drivers or minivans/taxis from the hotel next door. There's also usually a crowd of people hanging around outside and while they're mostly harmless - it can be unpleasant. Staff always seemed very nice and pleasant; no complaints there. Prices are about average these days, meaning that they're just as expensive as any other takeaway.

Used to be great chipper but for the last few months the food quality is bad. They must be buying the cheapest chips available to them which everyone else is rejecting because a good 70% of my bag are inedible, brown black and green chips. The tubs of sauce has gotten smaller but price has gone up. Chicken burgers have gone so thin too you can barely taste it on the bun. Honestly I know inflation has hit businesses and so they must raise their prices in turn but if ur expecting people to pay more at least keep the quality of the food to match the price. I'll be switching who I order off in future.

Three star for food because it was barely warm not because of taste Chefs you did your part good...

11pm craving for a milkshake... these are just fantastic. Best milkshakes I've tried in a long time, not forgetting raymond the fab server too!

It's a very nice takeaway marcis is widewolrd and are very clean and helpful
