Phil Lynott originally born in West Bromwich england but grew up in Dublin Ireland and always referred himself to be Irish and was extremely proud of it too. Singer, songwriter, bass player, producer and poet. Front man of Thin Lizzy. This wonderful life size sculpture is a must see for any Phil Lynott/Thin Lizzy fan. Incredible detail on the statue with his bass guitar ๐ŸŽธ. Many people leave tokens at the statue from guitar picks to flowers to show their respect for who is one of Ireland's greatest, talented well loved son's ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช. R.I.P Phil.

If you like Thin Lizzi or love Rock and Roll real stars, you have to be there and take a picture with him, because the boys are back in town.

It was awesome to see Phil Lynott's statue! ๐Ÿ˜Ž Beautiful statue and as a Thin Lizzy fan it was quite odd to stand next to his real size statue. He was quite tall btw. Phil was an amazing rock star! Gone too soon...๐Ÿ˜” I grew up as a child - thanks to my brother - with Phil's & Thin Lizzy's great music in the late 70s, early 80s. So this was unforgettable for me to see his statue in Dublin and to take photos with his beautiful statue (see @jerrytahatravel on Insta ๐Ÿ˜‰). If you visit Dublin, you have to pay a visit to this legend in the centre of Dublin. Part of this lovely city's rich history! Not only due to Bono and U2, but also Phil and Thin Lizzy! Rock in peace, Phil Lynott! โœŒ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’–

This statue is a tribute to the Thin Lizzy front-man and bassist Phil Lynott. The statue features Lynott standing, right hand on his guitar which is resting on the ground, with his left hand in his pocket. The statue faithfully shows his funky afro hair-do. Not a must-see, but interesting if in the area or a fan.

We were in Dublin at the end of February 2023. On our way to tour St. Patrick's Cathedral, I took our path on a detour to see Phil's statue. We found a guitar pick on the ground in front of it so I put it in the strings of his bass. I hope it's still there. I grew up in the US in the 70s/80s and always liked Thin Lizzy's music. I walked around with "Jail Break" playing in my head most of the rest of that day. :-)

One of my favorite musicians who definitely deserved such honor. Right next to the busy Grafton Street, which makes it easily accessible for those who admired Phil Lynott's great talent.

BEST KNOWN AS THE FRONTMAN for the band Thin Lizzy, Phil Lynottโ€™s too-short life has been memorialized by a life-size bronze statue erected in central Dublin, just outside one of the famed bass playerโ€™s favorite Bruxelles pub, downtown Dublin.

Someone had placed a bouquet ๐Ÿ’ in Phil's arms. I was super happy that I made the effort to visit while in Dublin.

Really cool statue to commemorate the late, great, Phil Lynott. This statue wasn't the easiest to find, but once found, it was worth it. It's pretty impressive up close and the photos don't do it justice. If you're a Thin Lizzy fan - arguably one of the most underrated rock bands of all time - this is a must visit. \

A good statue can tell you a lot about the people who put it up. Phil was a good Crumlin man who was proud of his road, proud of his parish, proud of his city and proud of his country. His excellence in music by right elevated him to the cultural peek. Have a look around town, we don't comission statues for tenure people or south county Dublin lovers of the enemy. The penny dropped for Gabriel Conroy as his wife broke in to tears for the long dead peasant boy who used to sing the lass of Aughrim for her. Joyce may as well have wrote Sean ร‰ire na nGaedheal go deo.

The late, the great one and only Phil Lynott. You don't see many statues of Rockstars anywhere, a poet and a legend for evermore!

Nice statue! I would have liked more information about the person, but I strongly enjoyed seeing a statue of someone who's not a white old guy.

If you loved Thin Lizzy (The Boys are Back in Town), this is a must-see, free attraction while you are in downtown Dublin. Easy to find in Harry Street, which is just off Grafton Street (the city's main shopping street).

In city center next to a pub. It was my second visit in 7 years after the statue was defaced. It was restored well. I'll always visit when in town. A must do for any Thin Lizzy fan!

Very known in Ireland as the famous front man of THIN LIZZY, the rock superstars. I was told that the statue is sometimes damaged or even vandalised and therefor it surely needs a better and safe location.

It's Phil, what more can you say. Play some Thin Lizzy while you say hi. Hit the pub next door and head to the basement. Edit. Apparently they move Phil around town, so ignore the visit the pub next door. Although I am sure one isn't far away.
