Here's where they start losing stars: - 2 for pressure sales tactics (this was the biggest turn off): The formula is - "We have an exorbitant joining fee. But I'll go out and ask my manager if I can get a discount for you. We were running a promo last month and you just missed it, but I might be able to make an exception for you." [Leaves for a few minutes and comes back]. "Good news! We can get you a whopping discount of X% off! BUT you'd have to sign up right now." This is the good old "fake promotional activity" and "time limit" tactic, and it's a great way to lose customer trust and loyalty, and hurt the brand image. - 1 for false advertisement on website: the 4-day free trial was shortened to 1 day due to covid. That's fair enough, but they should have updated the website to reflect this fact. We've had covid for over a year now, so it's inexcusable for them to advertise something they're not offering. - 1 for horrid customer service/attitude: I went with a friend who's a regular at another WW location, who was told "your membership doesn't cover entry to this location, you need a 'Global membership', but I'll do you a favor and let you in this time." After she went home, she found that the man had left a note on her account which stopped her from accessing her regular location! Say WHAT now? In sum, for a luxury gym, they sure do have terrible customer service and use ethically questionable sales tactics. If you don't care about that, and purely go for the equipment, this place is 5 stars. If you care about honesty, ethical business practices, etc. then avoid this place.

I am a member of Westwood the last several years. Last night I was at the gym, came down to my locker, took my bag out of my locker and left it on the seat. I walked to get paper from the bathroom, came back and €200 of valuables we taken from my gym bag. I reported this internally and posted this on social media to make other members aware and to be careful- unfortunately Westwood couldn’t deal with this issue with me and decided to BLOCK ME! I have now been resulted to write a google review so that others are aware of what has happened on Westwood’s premises. I did not diss the gym in any way, I simply brought awareness to what had happened! This is very unfortunate that this happened but to all members - be careful!

The joining fee it's a scam ! Please watch out. Shortly after joining I talked with a friend and he said he he was given some speech when he joined - we have a special offer today but every day they have a special offer. I was told by the sales guy he did some dodgy things from another account to get the Joining fee price down for me which was a ridiculous amount. I wanted to join the gym so I paid but the way this is handled is very badly

Increased every monthly subscription and lowed the temperature of the water in the pool. It’s supposed to be a headed pool, it’s now freezing! Fair enough we have an energy crisis but why increase subscription by €10 and then reduce temperatures? The jets are never working half the time.. always something broken. The smell as you enter the pool area is getting worse every day..(this needs to be looked at). This needs a full renovation as I feel dirty when I come out of there. I understand the pool is salt water but it’s always full of foamy scum and cloudy with Particles floating. I think I need to start looking for another gym, clearly management aren’t looking after the premises. Disappointing!

Sadly I had to leave the gym as I made multiple complaints without response, when I informed management this is the reason I was leaving they told me a manager would contact me if I decide to join again, still no response regarding my complaint. Great potential for a gym and the trainers are amazing would be great if there was better customer service so the problems could be resolved.

I spend 80 e a month on this gym membership . I joined in November during peak Covid times the place was over crowded and dirty . I went back in late January the showers were beyond filthy black mould and hair . I went back last week it is still absolutely the filthiest gym I've ever been in so dissapointed .I made management aware of my concerns three times to no avail .

If you like to swim in seawater but its cold outside this is the next best thing, seawater swimming pool. Truly a wonder to behold, the friendly staff will show you the jacuzzi, cold plunge pool, a sauna and dry heat rooms all around a lovely pool. You'd think you were in a luxury hotel !

Really great gym, really nice receptionist and trainers. Equipment is great and spa/pool is lovely. That being said I really think they could do with expanding the car park absolute joke having to wait for parking every time when they have a huge empty green there that could expand the parking. Please expand the car park!

Lovely pool and spa area. However, swimming is a little disorganized with most of the members ignoring the swimming directional swims resulting in a bit of a mess, this is frustrating when trying to swim proper lengths. Perhaps if lane ropes were installed it would encourage people to swim in line. Also a separate "walking" lane would be helpful as there is a lot of people walking up and down the pool (as its only 1.2m deep) when others are swimming.

First of all for those who consider to becoming a member of Westwood Sandymount. It's small club based on small grounds with small/limited parking available. There is no parking spaces available Almost all the time. 2. Gym floor: in general ok... However, Many machines are outdated and some of them are just 1 of each. 3. Changing room area (women's) Outdated too, along with showers area. There is a lot of hair everywhere...All the time.. Spiders on the cellings and in (private small changing area) 4. Pool and other facilities area. The worst area. It's starting with stairs you go down ... always dirty and again, fully of hair and unpleasant smell. Then that disgusting 100 years old brown double doors... witch are unpleasant even to touch it. So you open that doors...and enter into the pool area...And First what you feel is ...Very unpleasant smell...like in the toilet ...But it's seems nobody from staff or management are care. There is a lot of people who didn't wear a cap or even flip flops... walking around that dirty and hair floor and then enter directly into the pool.. Pool: Along the pool wall, jacuzzi buttons etc...there is a black coats of dirty witch stays there for years ...very very disgusting...on the other side of the pool, people trows their chewing gums and other rubbish...and nobody clean it ...I personally see same rubbish for months...again disgusting... Steam room ... Unpleasant smell again ...(however in steam room should be a smell of essential oils... that's what you have to breath...but instead you breath a dirties (witch wasn't clean for months or even years) after people's sweat etc etc etc...I've seen an person who trowing his nose dirty on the wall and seat. So it's seems that steam room or sauna etc ...are not cleaned every day/regularly basis. It looks like that happens no often then once a year. So, I'm came in to improve my health here but ended to feel dirty after and more than that ...that I may get lots of bacterias/infections.. you even breathing bacterias... As steam doesn't kill all bacteria/fungal/infections...witch growing on the wall, seats, floors etc..I'm thinking to cancel my membership. As instead to be a pleasure...It's disgusting experience.

Great spent day with my girlfriend with three different types of saunas and a swimming pool with massage jets. Silence has prevaed all day at the pool that we have even slept on the heating lees. If we'd been through the working week, we'd have been on a massage, but unfortunately it was Sunday. Still, it was priceless.

One of the most affordable clubs in Dublin! For being affordable you can't have everything, the gym equipments are a bit old, but they do their job! Staff were all great with us. The place is clean and well kept! Lively for a weekend break at the sauna, different options for relaxing and enjoying time with yourself or a friend. I went with a friend for free, she invited me and I am definitely becoming a member as soon as my membership in my current gym is over!

I love the fact that it's sea water, adult only and no aqua gym or swimming classes. So you can swim in peace....

Incredibly unpleasant and unprofessional. I made an error with parking and received a rude sticker on my car, I popped back in to ask the manager what I'd done wrong so I could avoid it next time. I was shocked by the conversation that followed. It was judgemental, sneering and scornful – a deeply unpleasant and rude experience. As a family we are members at UCD, David Lloyd Riverview and take our daughter to swimming lessons at Westwood Clontarf as well – we had been considering reducing these memberships and this interaction makes this decision incredibly easy. They are by far the worse of all these facilities.

A tiny Westwood Club but provides you with everything you need. C1, C2 and the 47 bus will drop you near enough to the gym. The gym has tennis courts, a tiny weight room, a swimming pool and spa area. The swimming pool has very salty water. There's also a jacuzzi like thing on the side of the pool and gives you a nice massage. There's a steam room (which is way too loud), a sauna, a room which has heated seats, a room with seats to lie on and a nice ice pool. Changing rooms aren't the biggest but they are clean. The gym isn't that busy either.

It’s a busy spot and always not enough equipment. Unless you’re coming with kids to keep them busy during your session, stay away from it. It’s mainly a family spot rather than gym or relaxation place. Lately it became a place for not nice people that don’t respect others, that would bring phones in the SPA area and won’t respect any rules whatsoever. Showers are always dirty and cleaning team would start cleaning SPA and showers with power wash just after 8-9, when closing time is 11pm, splashing all over your towels. After 10pm staff will start kicking you out, explaining that they have to start early in the morning, they would turn off the music. Once still training at the machine at 10:30pm a staff member turned off the lights! Also there’s always smell of mould and if you try to train on the bars you will do a good dusting for them! Overall disappointed, not worth the money, extremely busy, full of kids running around and jumping on the machines on the ground floor.

Giving a 4 overall due to a few issues (cold water sometimes, ladies gym very uninviting, poor parking facilities) BUT the reason I'm writing the review is to talk about the staff; they are 5 star all the way! Nicole at reception and Zach in particular are so unbelievably helpful, friendly and kind. They always make me feel so welcome. Thanks guys!

The swimming pool was smelling like a sewer, the small plunge pool smelled like they poured 100 gallons of chlorine on it, the sauna was closed and the steam room not powerful at all! I meant why don’t you close the whole area? What a waste of time! Total Dissatisfaction 📉

Disappointed to sign up for a trial and not get it. After filling in the info, correctly, they said my number was incorrect. It wasn't. I emailed back my number, didn't get a response. I got an automated message saying my trial had started, this was not communicated. I wrote back to ' svetlana' email. No response. I called reception, it didn't answer. Overall the experience was one of trying to fulfil their own processes and didn't really take into account the client journey.i called 3 + times and send 3+ emails and still no responses. I won't be going for a trial or joining. Disappointed to say the least.

They are not doing trial passes due to Covid which is fair enough, but charging people 50 euro for a day pass isn't okay.

Lovely facilities. Saltwater pool and climbing wall. Can get a little busy at peak times unlike the Dun Laoghaire branch. Parking is very tricky too.

We went for a swimming pool on the evening We waited for 40 minutes just to be told that we cannot use the swimming pool. There is advertisement for 4 days free pass. When we mentioned we were asked by the sales agent to pay 50 euro for that free pass per person. After some conversation the guy decided to give us a discount on the FREE passes and sell it to us for only 50 euro. Wasted time, unpleasant experience...

Fairly spotless. The free weights section is a bit small but it has everything you need. Went around lunch time and it was fairly empty. The pool, Sauna, steam room, jacuzzi section was of good quality. Price is steep but it's luxurious compared to cheaper alternatives

Well managed adults only Fitness/Wellness Club with a warm thalasso (sea water) pool and thalassotherephy areas. Good trainers and classes in splendid gym areas. Some if the members can be shy of following the club hygiene guidelines.

Horrendous staff experience provoking my first negative google review. Not only were they not accomadating, they were extremely passive aggressive in their communication. If a customer needs clarity (was told mixed information regarding a deal from different members of staff) help them out, don't act as if they're a criminal! This was a completely unexpected and negative encounter as I was in good form intending to simply check out a local gym in a new neighborhood. Needless to say I will be signing up elsewhere.

Should not even get 1 star!!!! I am a member at Westwood clontarf and decided to come give this Westwood a chance. I came all the way from coolock just for the receptionist to tell me I don’t belong here because I’m not 18!!! I find this ridiculous as I go to all the other gyms no problem but I can’t go to this one. The receptionist should fix her attitude when talking to customers.

Visited the spa only. It has a heated seawater swimming pool. A spacious jacuzzi with hydromassage beds. Also a caldarium, sauna steam room, relaxation room. I left the place feeling a new person. Highly recommended.

'Luxury' vibe Social Fitness club in which "something is always broken!" A facility which gives you access to gym, pool and some warm sauna rooms - sounds like good 'all in one' value, until you realise, that the conditions leave a lot to be desired, even if offered at an affordable price. Club seems understaffed and mismanaged, with average workout atmosphere and inadequately maintained rusty equipment, poorly air conditioned area with dominant fragrances of sweat and mold. The fact that cool humid air is not warmed (to me it feels like below 17 degrees celsius) leads to poor athletic performance and could potentially result in injury. The pool and Jacuzzi is the best bit as it's a natural underwater spring full of healthy minerals. As for the Sauna and Steam room which are usually overcrowded and only warm enough to keep you warm barefoot - and if you don't sweat, the sauna is a waste of time. This coupled together with members not following Sauna etiquette leads to an unpleasant experience. The staff are friendly, but often are unable to take action on poor facility conditions. While going to sports club is healthier than going to the pub, it's still underwhelming how a club with so much potential is managed so inefficiently :/// *I was a member for a year. I would be happy to pay more, but only if the conditions are set to adequate standard. P.S. David Lloyd in Donnybrook, is the only half decent club in Dublin, double the membership price, but at least it ain't a health hazard.

VERY FIRST DAY myself and a couple of other people got expelled of the pool area by one of the personal trainers. Its been a while since I saw someone being so rude with customers. Turns out that due to the holiday season they are closing earlier, totally understandable. however this is nowhere in the facility and I had to figure it out myself after being completely upset by a horriblecustomer service.

I went there few days ago to join the gym again after a break for about 6 months I give up going to this gym club because saw so many people without wearing a hat and had very long hair boys and women I wonder how the management do nothing about this for 79 euro a month they should give very nice Service to customers and professional not to leave people without any hats on and phones in the swimming pool .

3 months ago in Sandymount Westwood club, I was going about my own business in the gym and I was verbally abused by another member. When I was in between weights, this member dropped his weights very close to my head. After the next set I got up and he was standing in front of me very confrontational and for the next few minutes he spoke to me very aggressively on how I had taken his machine. The more I said I didn’t know it was his machine the more aggressive he became. I walked off in tears and went to a member of staff in the main reception who said they would follow me up. I waited at the reception upstairs till another member who had witnessed it came over to see if I was ok. We waited another 5 minutes and still no one came up to me. We went back together to the main reception and he said it to the same people and he had to actually tell them they needed to do something. By the time we got back up he had gone. For a club I felt so unprotected. There was not one person on the floor to help me. The club contacted me to say my story was right from what they said on CCTV. I got my money back and have not heard a word since. It’s absolutely appalling no one has ever made contact with me since this happened. I have been unable to go near a gym since and wouldn’t recommend here to anyone.

We went to its beautiful swimming pool with sea water and yakussy. It also has sauna, turkish bath and relaxing room. Very nice.

I have been a member for over 10 years. Friendly , highly skilled professional staff. The classes offered are excellent- plenty variety with good support from those teaching. Standards of hygiene are and always have been high. The relaxation suite is as good as any top class spa.

I hate location of female gym, I saw a big group of golf guys watching women in the gym . There Glass wall before you entered the gym. So guys don't even have to be members to watch women in the gym. Manager didn't care when I said it. Very rude.

Love sandymount. However disappointed the we are not kept up to date with developments in clontarf. The sauna and steam room have not been open now for over two years. This is not what I paid for.

Arguably one of the nicest, best equipped gyms in Dublin (this counts for all West Wood Clubs, but particularly for this one!). Staff are excellent, especially Andre at reception. No phones allowed in the gym = people are there to actually work out, as opposed to posing and texting. Very highly recommend West Wood!

Westwood Club Clontarf with non functioning spa area since last year and the staff keep saying it will be back soon but still the same. The other branches doesn’t have parking, need to wait hours in the queue to park. High amount of fees being charged with not providing all of the services promised when the membership was bought.

The gyms haven’t been open in January or February due to COVID however the January payment was still taken from our accounts incorrectly. Members were told an additional month would be granted for free once gyms reopened rather than a refund. I was originally willing to let this slide as it didn’t make much of a difference. I then had to cancel my membership mid January as I’m moving home. I served my 30 day notice period due to end 13th Feb however they are refusing to refund the January payment saying it forms part of the 30 days cancellation period despite the gym being closed. Customer service are rude and condescending.
