A beautiful island close to Dublin city and north county Dublin. Great for long peaceful walks and water sports. Also if youโ€™re happy to brave the cold waters thereโ€™s designated swimming areas. There is also a very small but super nice cafe (the only cafe) on the island so you can grab a quick bite or drink.

Overall I was pleasantly surprised by this 5km beach. You will immediately notice and enjoy its talc-soft white sand which stretches back to the tall grass nature reserve behind. You will generally find it with less people than other beaches around the Dublin Bay, giving you more free space to enjoy yourself. The only issue I found was the southeast end of the beach near the Statue of Our Lady, located at the end of the Wooden Bridge entrance. This area had a very strong fishy smell caused by the accumulated seaweed piled up on the beach. That being said, if you walk a few minutes northward up the beach you will no longer notice this. The farther away from the southeast region you are, the more pleasant the experience. Access to this beach is easy from the city, be it by foot, bike or car. There is a car park near the Statue of Our Lady (located at the end of the Wooden Bridge entrance).

Great area for walking. Wild bird sanctuary and a very long sandy beach. There are several wild flowers to be seen, including Wild Orchid.

The island is beautiful, close to Dublin, and easy to access. The cafe on the island is perfect, and the paved path makes it easily accessible. The beach did have a strong smell of fish on the southern shore, but as you walk north, it dissipates.

Love this place. Great coffee Dock with nice hot chocolate and Tisted sandwiches. There is a toilet and nice walk down to the statue at the end of the pier. Watch the boats come and go into Dublin's busy port. At night there are foxes that make an occasional appearance. Also you can walk down the beach at bull Island. Please do not disturb the seal if they are resting in the bank. Also keep dogs under Control as this is a sanctuary for various flora and fauna. There are areas for changing for sea swimming but obviously take care with that and make sure you are competent and try to go with someone as not a good idea to do these things in case you get into difficulties. Really love this place and worth exploring.

Bull Island is a good place to go to spend a Sunday afternoon. It is not really an island, it has been formed due to human action by creating a wall and the natural effect of the tides. Sometimes you can find a seal near the coast. The sunsets on Bull Island are spectacular, with the chimneys of its decaying factories visible in the background, reminiscent of a distant industrial Dublin.

Beautiful place to go to! We went on a school trip and it was a lovely alternative to the busy and crowdy city center. It's really windy and a little bit cold in May but that takes nothing from it

Lovely place. Always quiet, no shops, no buildings apart from 2 which are out of the way. And 3 which are even more out of the way, completely let out to wild, brilliant place to go for a walk and even is home to a group of about 40 seals, nicest place in the whole of Dublin I'd reckon

Nice place to walk, pity that swimming is banned on most of occasions. Anyway good place to walk and chill. Very pleasant view.

Bull Island, having a sand structure, is located in Dublin Bay in Ireland, about 5 km long, lying roughly parallel to the shore off Clontarf, facing Sutton and Howth peninsula. The island, with a lovely sandy beach Dollymount Strand is a relatively recent, result of human intervention in the bay. Always feel magical there.
