All I can say is wonderful, absolutely wonderful. Do not miss this experience. From start to finish, they make this experience about you. The staff is kind, knowledgeable, and exceptionally witty. Everything is presented beautifully, and the tea is no exception. The black teas were wonderful, my favorite being the the Irish Whiskey Cream, with the Irish Afternoon Gold a close second. The menu offered vibrant and delicious bites, especially the salmon! Do not fret if the trays look small, you are given additional sandwiches and desserts, as much as you please. You can also bring home anything that is uneaten. The most impressive aspect of this experience is the staff. The individual who waited on my wife and I was a gem. She was not only attentive, but incredibly knowledgeable about the tea being served. She educated us on the process of learning all the teas by smell ( I believe there are 30 or more teas), which was quite interesting!

A seductive presentation accompanied by a quality service by friendly staff and relaxing music in this prestigious building can change your day. The pastries and little sandwiches were very tasty and a perfect combination of flavours and colors, also have the very good options of different type of tea.

My partner and I went for afternoon tea on bank holiday Monday. We booked it weeks in advance, and it was very busy on the day. We opted for the Classic Afternoon Tea €65pp (non champagne option). Our server was great at explaining everything to us. There was a menu full of teas and coffees to try, and a 4 tier afternoon tea stand full of goodies. It had plain and fruit scones, lemon drizzle fingers, a selection of sandwiches and marble cake, and mango éclairs to top it off (literally....it was the top tier 😋). They replenished the sandwiches, and the tea kept flowing throughout the 2 hours we were there. The room was beautiful, the atmosphere was so calm and tranquil and overall it was a wonderful experience. We also got a doggy bag to take home our leftovers! FABULOUS!

Lovey afternoon tea experience. This is a wonderful time & tasty treat. From the scones and spice bread through to the whiskey smoked salmon sandwiches & feta with tomato on pumpkin bread to the lovely deserts were all spectacular & scrumptious. This is seriously legit!

One of those places where if you can it's a must to experience. The place is gorgeous, with fabulous artwork and glamorous chandeliers. The staff working there are enjoying and are good at what they do. Sandwiches, cakes, tea and bubbles are pure delight.

We went for afternoon tea and the experience was underwhelming for the price we paid. We've been to other afternoon teas and we've felt better assisted than in the Shelbourne. The reason why it didn't match our expectations is because it seems like a massified activity that they offer, full of tourists and they are very busy. As a consequence, it feels that the service isn't as ceremonial or exclusive as the price should include. Tea was good and they make sure your cup is always good. I recommend the Irish whiskey cream tea and the nana's Moroccan tea. The food was okay and you can order as much as you want. I especially liked the chicken sandwich, éclair, and the lemon drizzle cake. The rest of the treats are nothing special... The bathrooms weren't sparkling clean as you'd expect. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the welcoming plate of chocolates at the end of the dining experience.

I'm an American tourist, I love tea, and I am a vegan. I saw from other reviews that there is a vegan tea option if you make a reservation ahead of time. I made a reservation with about 48 hours notice and they had the vegan option ready. Everything about this event was exceptional. To start, the reservation process was very easy. They also called me to confirm all of my information and make sure they had all of my dietary restrictions correct. When I got there they had a table ready for me and my friend who were celebrating some career milestones. The aesthetic of this place is exactly what I am looking for when it comes to a tea event. It's a little dressed up and the whole room is gorgeous. The waitress was so friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. She talked to us about the expectations and explained our meals and tea in detail. We also had conversations with her and enjoyed getting to know more about her. I have been to different high tea events in the US and in England, but none of them have been this good. The teas are poured into your cup so you can try as many flavors as you would like. They will not just leave a huge pot of one flavor for you to finish and not have room to try something else. The Vegan food was delicious and came with scones, tea cake, finger sized toasts with different spreads on them, and two desserts courses. They also would bring you more toasts if you wanted more. My friend Julia and I were so impressed with our entire experience. I have already told family and friends that when they come to Dublin they have to make this a stop.

If you’re looking for a fabulous high tea experience in Dublin, look no more. You are bound to have the most delightful experience at Lord Mayor’s Lounge. From the ambiance to the tea, to the small finger sandwiches it really makes the overall experience well worth it. They have a fixed menu, which is priced per person. If you are simply just having tea it is slightly less. If you opt for the glass of champagne it’s a bit more expensive. The food is unlimited within both prices, so don’t worry about running out. While the finger sandwiches, scones, and desserts are small, they are mighty. I highly recommend the chicken salad sandwich along with the pistachio raspberry dessert. These were the two I enjoyed the most out of the entire experience. If I ever return to Dublin this will be my first stop.

Nice experience having afternoon tea at the Lord Major's Lounge in the Shelbourne Hotel. Your booking is for an hour an 45 minutes. This does not feels like an adequate amount of time, but could be nice with a little longer. The staff is really nice, friendly, and very helpful. They are very good at asking if you want refills of your tea/coffee or if you want to try a new one. The scone selection is really great, but I must admit that I had higher expectation to the cakes and sandwiches. Do not get me wrong - it was all really great, but compared to what I have tried in other cities' top afternoon tea places, this is not near their level. Still expect this to be best in Dublin. After the tea we went next door in the other side of the hotel and got a gin and tonic. Great location.

This was the most disappointing Afternoon Tea I have had. The standard and variety of the food was very poor. Only one type of bread, bland toppings, tasteless scones, one type of jam and pre-whipped cream. Even the 'ham' on the child's sandwich had to be removed as it was just fatty and inedible. We were also squashed at a very small table without room for everything, as a result our teapots were not left with us and we had to keep looking for staff for refills. This was not a good experience and they have a cheek to charge people €49 for this sub-standard tea. They should pay a visit to the likes of The Westbury and Gallagher's Bistro and sample the quality of their food.

Went here for a birthday treat and absolutely loved it. The food was plentiful and delicious and they had a really interesting selection of teas. The service was also impeccable. I would highly recommend this if you want a treat!

We had an outstanding experience here for afternoon tea. The staff (Abigail and Imelda-it was wonderful to see Imelda again!) were utterly professional kind amd attentive throughout. The food was gorgeous and extra sandwiches were provided. The champagne option adds that bit of decadence too amd I encourage people to try one of the amazing cocktails. All in all we can't wait to return! Hanks everyone

It was great to talk to Executive Chef Garry Hughes & his team, who prepared the fabulous afternoon tea. A big thank you to our waitress Vanessa who made our visit so very special with her knowledge of the menu. My wife Philomena & myself would highly recommend The Lord Mayor's Lounge.

The Perfect Afternoon Tea in the city centre in the marvelous establishment that is the Shelbourne Hotel. Service : The service was impeccable from start to finish. They pick your coat, they give you the opportunity to state any dietary requirement, they make you aware of the time you’ll have to leave the table, they explain to you how the Afternoon Tea is organised. The waitresses are very attentive and discreet, you won’t be missing anything. They will offer to take a picture of your group if you want one. Pros : unlimited sandwiched, teas and coffees. The service is also a big plus. The room is lovely. The music suits the ambiance and it isn’t loud. The staff will address a little attention (little amuse bouche) for special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries…) . They offer lovely takeaway boxes if you don’t feel like eating everything. Cons : honestly… none. I recommend the following teas : Sweet Nana, and Strawberry & cream. I will be back and I’m already looking forward to it.

Quite nice surroundings but very mediocre compared to other afternoon teas around Dublin and the rest of Ireland. Food not bad but nothing special. Very overpriced. Rushed and unprofessional service. Overall nice enough but definitely not up to its competitors and not worth the price tag.

In general - beautiful place. Food was so so. Too flate tast, desserts did not look impressive for the price we paid. Service just horrible. Our teapots were placed on the windowsill, near neighbour table. Most of the time I was seating with empty cup and were waiting for a waiter to add new tea. (What was the issue to place teapots on our table? It was enough room for this. People at the neighbour table had 2 coffee pots at their table.) Extra sandviches were offered only once. Scones were also avarage, perhaps they were baked yesterday. I had an afternoon tea experice in several places in London. One of them - Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London. In Mandarine, they undestand how to treat customers (I did not have an issue to seat with an empty cup for 20 minutes, waitors always kindly offer us new sandviches, deserts, scones). € 62 per person for avarage food, poor service - a way too much. The manager of Lord Mayor's Lounge should better visit afternoon tea at Mandarin Oriental in London to see how looks like a good service. (Afternoon tea was 31 of December at 16:30)

Great spot. Perfect for a quiet pint, a bit of a dance or a lovely bit of grub. Staff are fantastic and it's definitely one of my favourite pubs in Swords.
