I was a patient of this surgery for a number of years. From nearly the start of my experience with them I found one of the receptionists to be horrendously rude, and I used to feel anxious about calling to make appointments as she was so belittling. Initially I was happy with the medical treatment I was receiving however looking back now (since I’ve moved GPs) I can see how inconsistent it was. I was passed around different doctors and not taken seriously. The customer service (mainly relating to the receptionist previously mentioned) was by far the worst experience. One time I walked into the surgery one evening to pick up a prescription and the doctor and receptionists were discussing me, which I heard but didn’t confront them about, but they said “oh we were just talking about you” as it was clear I had heard. The very last straw (and there were many “nearly” last straws) was when I had a phone appointment in summer 2020, mid-pandemic. When I made the payment with the infamous receptionist over the phone I asked her to send me a receipt. She told me “you can come and collect your receipt in our reception”. Bear in mind this is when people were being discouraged from making unnecessary journey. I asked her to email it to me and was told “we don’t do that”. She told me I needed to send in a stamped addressed envelope to get my receipt. In the end I asked her could I pay the €1 for the stamp for her to send it to me. So after already taking my card details for a 5 minute phone consultation that cost me €40, she proceeded to take the details again for the price of a stamp. On my last (phone) appointment with a doctor I mentioned the horrible temperament of the receptionist and how over the years she had treated me rudely and belittled me numerous times. I was told “oh she’s actually a lovely woman but that’s the way she is sometimes”. I joined this surgery loving that it was an all-female surgery, but it has been by far the worst all round experience I ever had with any surgery in my life. My physical and mental health were both stunted in the years I spent there and I can see that so clearly now in the 12 months since I joined a new GP. I would recommend Suffolk Street Surgery to no one.

Used to go to this GP practice, but stopped for two reasons. First, appointments always run late, and I mean, extremely late, once I waited 1.5 hours to see a GP. Second, seen a GP at some point, I had some issues, but was dismissed. Went for a full VHI scan which detected thyroid problems. Went back to the same doctor, who seemed likely unhappy that I went for a second opinion, told me that my symptoms can't be due to thyroid issues (results indicated these were my issues). Needless to say, I wasted some years and finally was diagnosed properly and being treated. Avoid at all costs.

I realize that not all doctors will be able to help someone straight off the bat, but I do feel like a level of care and attentiveness should be taken. Throughout my visit I felt the doctor both didn't take me seriously and treated my appointment like a burden, an annoyance, and wanted to get me out the door as fast as possible. She was borderline impatient and while she was not outright rude, I left feeling written off and like the doctor felt that I was both crazy and wasting her time. Fair enough, I don't need to come back. I was really hopeful to get in as a patient here, and left in tears. Not recommended.

They scheduled me for my 2nd Covid Vaccine and told me to go to the "clinic" instead of the vaccination center. I'm a diabetic patient and needed to get the vaccine as I fell within cohort 4/7. Because of this mishap, it's now been 6 weeks since my first dose and the GP has not been able to schedule me for a second vaccine till date. Really disappointed at the lack of professionalism and communication shown by the GP and will avoid them in the future at all costs. Edit: Reply to the response below: Hi Team - The reminder email did not "clearly" state the venue of the vaccination center. The email said "Thank you for attending The Helix, for your first dose of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine. We are asked to advise you that you should attend the clinic for your second dose of the vaccine at the same time as your first appointment." Clinic is generally meant to be a place where medical treatment is provided (GP). Further the email referred to "The Helix" and "the clinic" separately. Lastly, I'm not sure what you mean by "we are asked to advise you". This clearly shows that there is a change? Lastly, the email was sent by your team whereas for the first appointment the email was from "Calendly" which added to the confusion. So no, this was not "clear". I appreciate everyone has put in a lot of effort on this but please be clear in your communications. I had to travel urgently which I wasn't able to as I didn't get the 2nd Dose and now the 2nd dose is scheduled for 8 weeks after the first dose (WHO recommendation was within 6 weeks).

I've been to this clinic for just routine testing before, and have had only pleasant, professional experiences with the GPs, nurses and reception staff involved in the whole process. More recently I had a consultation with with Dr. Antonia Courtney at this clinic, for quite a complicated medical issue, and she was incredibly sensitive, helpful and supportive as a GP. The receptionist I spoke with initially, Deana, was once again super helpful and friendly, and put me at ease about booking in for this issue. Couldn't recommend this clinic highly enough.

I was in Dublin on a recent business trip and needed to see a doctor in a hurry after the pharmacy couldn't help me. Dr Coughlan put my mind at ease immediately when she recognised my issue and prescribed treatment that brought me relief almost instantly. The entire team at Suffolk Street was friendly and efficient.

What a lovely relaxed professional doctors surgery. Very welcoming reception team and nothing was too much bother. Never felt rushed or as if I was just another patient, I was listened to.

The team at Suffolk Street couldn't have been more helpful - from the lovely receptionist booking me in, to a professional and friendly consultation with the doctor, to sorting the tests I needed really efficiently. My doctor took time to discuss options with me and I felt really attended to, and all my questions were answered. I was really impressed by the care and compassion, and the overall high quality service delivery. Thank you to the whole team!

Im brazilian and It’s very hard living in Ireland far from my family, mostly talking about the weather conditions, which makes me very sick during winter time. Dr. Orla is literally so kind to me, she’s always willing to listen to me and trying to help me the best way possible without judging. I go to her office all the time and she always provides the best appointments, a very human person. Highly recommend this place and Dr Orla!

I have just been to Suffolk Street Surgery for the first time where I got the most professional help from the receptionist to the Dr. this was my first visit & I had looked at the reviews before going but it didn’t put me off. The surgery was spotless & the receptionist was very efficient & chatty. I had about a 10 min wait to be seen & the Dr spent a long time with me , listening & explained everything in plain English. Great service. This will definitely be my choice of GP for the future. Highly recommend, don’t be put off with the previous reviews, make up your own mind.

Disappointed! I decided to have this clinic as my GP. There's time where I was told by the phone that the doctor would not be able to see me for more tha 15mins, ok I did not agree but I accepted. Last November? I did a blood test and I told the doctor that I needed to check the Vit D. After a fews weeks the doctor called me and said the blood test was fine. So, I decided to get the blood test printed so I could check it myself. Surprisengly, I could not find the vit d test there, so I called the Gp and I was told that I should wait till December and after till end of December to get it. However, when I called in January I was told to go back to the GP to get another blood sample, its seems that the doctor did not request the Vit D at all or not sure what happened noone told me anything. Conclusion, the information came to me wrong since the beginning but what made me disappointed is the fact that I was not told the truth. This is about heath matter we must be more responsible! I have not come back to clinic after that, I am still needing to check my vit D and I will.

I have been a long time patient at Suffolk Street Surgery. I would like to say a thank you to Dina the office manager for her help in getting my results that I was very worried about from the Mater Hospital and Dr. Courtney and Dr. Olra Coughlan are both excellent Doctors. Highly recommend this Surgery 😉
