As
a
local
Dublin
resident,
I
wanted
to
share
my
disappointing
experience
with
this
store.
I
purchased
a
merino
sweater
for
my
mother
two
months
ago,
and
to
my
dismay,
the
knits
have
completely
disintegrated,
resulting
in
a
large
hole.
What
made
the
situation
even
worse
was
the
manager's
rude
and
defiant
attitude
when
I
approached
her
for
a
resolution.
Despite
knowing
that
the
damaged
sweater
was
purchased
from
their
store,
she
repeatedly
insisted
on
seeing
the
receipt.
When
I
offered
to
show
her
the
proof
of
purchase,
she
claimed
that
since
the
sweater
had
been
washed,
I
was
not
eligible
for
a
refund.
This
reasoning
is
illogical,
as
I
am
not
someone
who
intentionally
damages
clothes
and
then
demands
a
refund.
My
concern
genuinely
lies
in
the
low
quality
and
poor
durability
of
the
product.
If
the
manager
fails
to
respond
to
my
sincere
request
for
a
refund
or
replacement,
I
will
be
compelled
to
refer
to
the
Consumer
Protection
Act
2007.
This
legislation
clearly
states
that
consumers
have
the
right
to
expect
products
to
be
durable
and
of
expected
quality
for
normal
use.
In
such
a
case,
I
would
have
no
choice
but
to
pursue
legal
action
against
Carrolls
Irish
Gifts
using
the
Small
Claims
Procedure.
I
hope
that
the
store
will
address
this
matter
promptly
and
uphold
their
responsibility
to
provide
satisfactory
customer
service.
