Wow. I’m puzzled to see why this place does not have a Michelin star yet. The food was amazingly delicious. It’s the best food we’ve ever had in Dubrovnik hands-down, and possibly in Europe, too. Especially the black ink risotto was mind blowing. Every other food we tasted was perfect. The customer service was a top notch. We could not find any flaw about this place and we will for sure come back again and again.

I stumbled upon Lucin Kantun while meandering the lane ways of the old city in the early afternoon. Reviews sounded promising. So I returned for dinner and was pleasantly delighted to find that the food is really top notch! Nice waiter and chef attended to me. It was a quiet evening but certainly a memorable meal.

Amazing experience! I went to try their black risotto with cheese and it didn't disappoint. The house red wine was really good, unlike house wines normally are. They don't have lactose free options, so mind that. Service was very friendly and polite. The corn bread on the side was unusual and delicious, from a local bakery. Highly recommend!

Brilliantly served authentic dishes - super fresh and extremely tasty food, great service and intimate modern ambiance within the historic urban tissue. We had a refreshing tuna tartare, smoked mussels for tapas, then a divine black risotto and lovely baked octopus, and ended the night with a lemon tart. The prices are well balanced and true to the quality and quantity.

The best food in Dubrovnik! It’s the unique experience to have great seafood. The server was so nice and explained the food in details. We went to this place twice during our 4 nights stay (as we missed for 1 night due to the full reservation). Highly recommend!!

Certainly worth the wait. The restaurant doesn’t disappoint. Staff were great! The restaurant doesn’t accept bookings after 6:45pm. So go there get on the queue outside, get a drink, sit on the stairs and people watch. Once seated service is quick. We had a main & 3 tapas for two people. Local wine. Delicious and would say it’s a must place to try the black risotto, tuna tartare, octopus.

This is one of our favorite meals that we had in Croatia. They have a tapas style menu so you can get as much or as little as soon as you want. The restaurant is located in a small alley in Dubrovnik. The waiters were really nice and quickly got us seated. We had the black risotto and the tuna tartare. We also had the house wine which was delicious. Overall, an excellent meal and would definitely come back.

Cute place in a narrow alley with kitchen in sight. If u don't get a table right away can sit on the stairs (they provide cushions) and have a drink while u wait. Eclectic menu, we'll presented and good for sharing. The rose wine by the glass was very good. Nice crew and crowd. Good prices for the experience. Recommended if in the old town.

Good solid cooking which never quite hit the mark. My Osso Bucco was well prepared, tender and moist a rich sauce. The sweet potato mash that went with it though was a little too sweet, and a touch underseasoned to make the perfect accompaniment. Rather less mash (and better seasoned), and the addition of some veg of some kind, would have made for a more balanced dish. Similarly the meringue with the lemon tart was over-sweet, as the tart itself was quite sweet. Overall an enjoyable meal but not one that will linger in the memory as long as some.

Tasty food, a bit pricey with not so many choices on the menu. Polite personnel, clean facilities. Card payment available, wheelchair access in the restaurant is available but to reach there are many stairs.

Definitely top place to eat in Dubrovnik. The food was delicious and you must try their black risotto. Loved the tapas style to get to try a little of everything. Loved the spinach cheese rolls, carrot soup, hummus, and mussels also! malvazija (sp?) wine was lovely.

Quiet and homely style restaurant with a lot of class - great indoor and outdoor seating but close to your neighbors. Top items were the black risotto, the cheese and spinach rolls, and the veg risotto. We stayed away from alcohol and pork due to personal preferences. Came in around 3PM and service was lightning fast.

They were really flexible with sitting inside when we had a booking for outside, and generally the service was excellent. The food was really lovely - we had the sardines, spinach and ricotta rolls, followed by the duck breast and veal. The duck dish was amazing - so well balanced. We enjoyed the veal but felt it was missing something as was very rich. We finished on the chocolate orange mousse which was 10/10. Great atmosphere inside. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place!

It's a small restaurant in a city full of tourists. Because of all the touristy places and menus my expectation regarding the food was not too high. But this place proofed me wrong - heavenly food! Also the service is extremely friendly and the ambience is also nice. I can wholeheartedly recommend this place - it's a true little gem. Thanks to the entire team for this amazing experience.

This is one of the best restaurants In Dubrovnik. We enjoyed the seafood platter so much, in particular the grilled squid. The restaurant is located within the old town, the atmosphere is fantastic!

Food was and service was very good here. My partner and I got the black risotto to share and I got the duck breast for my main which was amazing. I also highly recommend the green bliss drink, it was so refreshing especially during a heat wave.

Was good, if you want something to eat, we didn’t even reserved a table, around 3pm we order something to share , octupus , hummus, Brie cheese , black risotto, all the food was good maybe should be more salty the rice and the octupus , bus the pull pork was really good. Waiters very gentle.

I have been trying to reserve a table via email, and nobody replayed back after 3 emails, and when getting there they told me that reservations are only done via email… Finally, we decided to show up at the restaurant. We had to wait a bit to get a table but it didn’t take long. We had the cheese table and the tuna tartar as appetiser. They were average. As a main, we had the octopus which was really good. To finish we had the lemon pie which deceived us a bit. We were expecting a bit more about this place. The service was really good and the outside sitting is very nice :)

Tapas style restaurant where you can try a lot of the Croatian delicacies. There is usually a wait to sit, so it is best for couples or small groups (3-4). You sit on the steps right by the restaurant and can order a drink while you wait which is nice and honestly a great ambiance. For dinner, we had the fried sardines, cheese medley, black risotto and baked octopus. I have had better cheese medleys, however everything else was really good, especially the black risotto (it wasn’t too salty so I think they’ve read the reviews and adjusted since!). They usually recommend 2 small plates per person which was enough for us as well. The service was friendly but you had to get their attention if you needed anything since they were a little rushed because of the number of people waiting. They never made us feel like we had to rush through our food however which was nice. The wifi was down so we had to pay cash for dinner which would have been nice to know prior to sitting down, that was not the best surprise at the end when we had to pay however it was okay and understandable.

Our favourite restaurant from our Dubrovnik trip! The service was friendly and fast, with such delicious food to match. I would particularly recommend the pulled pork and traditional dessert from Dubrovnik. Both were so tasty I didn’t manage to get a picture before they were gone.

Very good food and lovely atmosphere! I highly recommend the black risotto, by far the best risotto I had in Croatia! And the wine is delicious, we liked it so much that we wanted to go to the winery itself to buy more. What I did not like was the service, the waitress are indifferent and not very welcoming.

Fantastic experience. We ordered a seafood platter for 2 and the traditional cream Caramel pudding. The tuna steak, as many others recommended, is very juicy and tender inside, so far the best tuna steak I had in Dubrovnik. The grilled white fish(I think is sea bass?) is also awesome, I love the crispy fish skin. The caramel pudding is fluffy and not too sweet served with a scoop of cream and some berries, perfect combination. I also ordered a glass of lemonade, very organic (as you probably noticed there are so many lemon/orange trees in the city), though a bit sour. Could not recommend more. :)

We stopped in for lunch off season in November so no crowds, but it is rather small. Lovely ambiance and smelled heavenly from the street. The food was all delicious and well priced for the old town. Service was good and no problem with using English. We got the tapas Sardines, Spinach and Cheese rolls, Mussels, and Beefsteak. All were great. The beef was my favorite. Lemon tart for dessert was a large portion and very tasty. Not too sweet nor too “lemony”. Would recommend and definitely would be worth going back to!

Amazing food here! We came to Lucin Kantun after our tour guide recommended us this restaurant. It did not disappoint! We tried the shrimp Cesar salad, the pea soup and the duck breast. Everything was delicious, especially the pea soup and duck breast(cooking was spot on). We'll definitely come back next time we visit Dubrovnik. Also, staff was very friendly.

Had to wait for 30 minutes but it was worth it. Small place with limited seating. Black risotto was really good, probably their most desired menu item. Duck breast was also good. Fat rendered nicely and potato puree was tasty with great silky texture. Dessert was good, not too outstanding. They can definitely be more creative in this area. Good experience overall and I’ll go back if get a chance

One of the best Oso Bucco ever. Sea food risotto from the tapas was delicious. 100 recommend this place.

Really fantastic, interesting food and friendly attentive service. Our waitress helped us choose from the tapas menu, and everything we ate was vibrant, nicely balanced and flavourful. The kind of meal you feel fantastic after eating. Great, fresh, cold draught beer too.

The beef with pasta was great; very tasty and spices were on point. We also orders the fish platter for two and got a feast. Everything was delicious but the prawns were a little over cooked. Overall the atmosphere is great and the cocktails and wine were good as well! I would totally recommend

Very nice restaurant. Great service. Food served with style. Some of the dishes were great, others were ok. The best plates, that we loved:: black risotto with cheese ice cream, grilled octopus, and baked brie cheese. Not so good: tuna tartar, and fish soup (not good). Overall great restaurant!! Nada

The food was great, the service was excellent and the restaurant is very well located - Away from the crowds but close to everything! My partner and I went there and were lucky enough to get the table right in front of their kitchen; it was impressive to look at them cook and prepare every plate with so much care. If you’re looking for something that will leave you satisfied, look no further, this is a must-stop in Old Town. The wine was also very good! I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Great dinning option in the alleys of Dubrovnik! They don’t accept reservations, so try and either come early or ready for a 1 hour wait or so. You can still have drinks while you wait, so it’s not that terrible. The food is really good, diversified and offers some of the great local selection. We had the seafood platter and the staff was also kind enough to offer us alternatives to some seafood we don’t eat. Service was great, along with the homemade bread.

  • 5/5 Alissa O. 2 years ago on Google
Fantastic meal! It’s in a shaded alleyway with little traffic so quite the relaxing meal. The cocktails were all absolutely delicious. The octopus salad was one of the best we had in Dubrovnik. The other appetizers and mains were all delicious too. It can get very busy though so get there early (by noon) for lunch or make a reservation for dinner.

Wonderful place for dinner. The grilled seafood plate and risotto here were amazing. The cuttlefish risotto is the best I have tasted compared to all other places.

Very cozy atmosphere with good service and quality food! We got the seafood platter to share between 3 of us along with two mains (duck and octopus). We were all full afterwards and loved the flavor of all of the dishes.
