I can't say enough about this place. I ALMOST didn't want to put a review to keep people away so it's not busy when I want to go. Their food is top notch and delicious. Dubuques food is normally bland, NOT HERE!! We have been a few times and each time it is amazing. Plus the country kitchen vibe is a nice accent to the breakfast meal.

September 28th my wife and little lady had breakfast for the first time at birdies and WOW was the chicken an biscuits n gravy, “all made from scratch, light breading and juicy chicken, gravy an biscuits, all very full of flavor without being over salty”, wife had the special, Irish Benedict and cakes aren’t on menu but are getting placed on it soon. Will be back 😋

My wife Patti convinced me to come here to try their food. You see she has eaten their food three times in the seven weeks they have been open. She raved about it. Today I wanted to do breakfast and I am glad she brought me here. As you walk up they have posted their specials for the day just outside the entrance. Enter into a warm welcome by the staff and notice the spacious seating. After reviewing the menu I decided on two eggs over easy, bacon, country potatoes, wheat toast and one pancake. Eggs were perfect, the bacon was REAL bacon and it kept its shape cooking. The potatoes are flavored just right. The wheat bread was more than your typical bread. Let’s talk pancakes. I ordered just one to give them a try. Boy! I am glad I did. Out came a plate with one large pancake with their home made butter spread. That put the great food over the top for me. I love a great tasting pancake! Birdie’s Bristo is a farm to table restaurant. You can’t say that about to many places that I know of. If your looking for a new, fresh, home made place for breakfast or lunch you better come here! Check out the menu I am posting as they also do carry out and some catering. I can’t wait for coming back for lunch and a piece of Key Lime Pie!!! Thank you Shannon for the great service and part owner GM Amy for stopping at our table for a visit. Greatly impressed with the breakfast, service and atmosphere. The food was delicious, the potatoes were seasoned and super tasty! The best food we had in Dubuque by far! I wish we had lunch and dinner here as well!

My husband and I just recently heard of Birdies and decided today after Mass to check it out. Such a nice, clean, comfortable, friendly, and pretty spot! Service was great and food was delish. I had the special - tomato and bacon eggs Benedict - it was wonderful! Wanted a slice of key lime pie but I was too full. 😉 So many great menu options. We’ll definitely be going back!

Had to wait about 45 minutes to be seated, tables were available but there must have been a staffing issue. Got seated and ordered our food then had to wait 30 minutes to receive our food. The bread was hard and cold as if it was sitting out. The bacon and sausage was cold. The eggs were the only thing that was hot. Service wasn't great, The waitress didn't seem like she knew what she was doing and couldn't make simple adjustments on menu items. The atmosphere was bland. Nothing on the walls and surrounding area, just tables and chairs. Overall a disappointing breakfast with my mother and grandmother who were also displeased. I'm not one to normally complain but this was warranted.
