Lovely day out today. Haven't been since I was a child and it was much improved since then. It still has all the charm and old school feel it used to have too. Great selection of animals to see. A lot of the animal enclosures have been revamped and modernised, which was great to see. Some animals have been moved in to bigger and better places and all seemed happy, active and in good health. A nice little fun fair for the kids near the entrance and the gift shop has been redone to a higher standard. The train and chair lift are both still operating to take you up to the castle and back, should you choose not to walk up. The castle itself is great to walk around. The ghost talk is very informative and there are birds of prey being exhibited in the courtyard. There was an owl today. Highly recommend a trip up the spiral staircase to the top of the castle for a fabulous view across the Black Country. Parking is much improved. Only £3.50 for the whole day (token operated gate system) and most of the site is wheelchair accessible, which is great. Toilets and food outlets were all clean and well stocked. Will definitely return again soon!

Me and my other half came to Dudley zoo on Sunday I would highly recommend arriving around 11am as we got parking easily and there was no wait to get into the park and when we left people were waiting out the door to get in! Overall we had a lovely day, facilities are good and a nice day out.

I visited on a cold November Sunday morning. Plenty of parking and a quick check-in. The train was waiting to pick passengers and the staff were very informative. There's a restaurant and cafe at the end of the train bus journey near the castle ruins. Not too many animals, but they all seemed to be in good health. A well equipped gift shop on departure.

Really enjoyed our time. Lots to see and do. Loved the range of animals and the castle was beautiful. Lots of food places. But there is so much walking! We got there at opening time and jumped straight on the train to the castle (cut out the hill walk). The train drivers were very helpful and friendly. We explored the castle grounds and the left hand side of the zoo, then ventured to the right. The right side of the zoo had a huge staircase so definitely recommend coming down, not up that side. The kids loved the 2 small playgrounds. The castle creatures were really cool, although very smelly. I've knocked a star off because the food was expensive (I do expect this but it seemed really hiked up) and there was no clear route around the zoo, so we weren't really efficient with our time. We went on Saturday in summer holidays and although it got busy as the day went on, there was so much to see it didnt feel crowded.

Very beautiful and breathtaking day with the family around nature and the animal. They provide discounts and free days for kids, so keep tuned and booked online.. Parking is available for 3.5 pounds the whole day. It takes 2-3 hours to enjoy the facility and have a close touch with nature here. I also liked the castle... Beautiful and gave you the chance to see the dudely from above. I strongly recommend visiting this place at least once.

Great zoo with some different animals. Lovely to see the different varieties of animals. We had a lovely day out here and it is nice to see the castle too. It is great to see the improvements being done to some ofthe enclosures too. We will certainly be back again.

I was there 3rd time today. I really enjoyed. A lot of animals at Dudley Zoo. Some very exotic. I could do plenty of colourful photos and be very close some of animals. Nice view from the castle. Interesting flight show of two birds. The animals were awesome. I spent there a nice day and I had a lot of fun. I can recommend this place to families with children, for the animals lovers, the photographers and everyone else.

This would have earned 5 stars from me but loses one for my visit due to unfavourable weather and some areas closed. The site is huge, you could spend a whole day walking to get round every Zone. It's nice to see animals in enclosures, not cages, ethically scores well. On a fine day, the east side would give you fine views across the Downs, the areas around the Penguin enclosure and River cottage in particular have great views. Plenty of picnic tables dotted around the site, but would advise bringing your own food as catering quite expensive. Perhaps my favourite enclosure today was the giraffe enclosure as I was able to see them quite close. Bring good walking shoes and also a good zoom camera if you want close ups of the animals as, given the size of the enclosures, they can be some distance away. I would go again, but next Spring in better weather and hopefully with everything open.

Rainy day out at the Zoo! Love the train to the top so you can work your way down, especially with little ones. Things that would make the day even better; - Indoor packed lunch space for guests (for rainy days) - Glass on all animal enclosures could do with anti glare film as you can often see the reflection more than the animals - Treasure hunt for kids on signs etc The Zoo shows it’s age in some places and appreciate this time of year a lot of renovation work is carried out ready for the summer. After covid and lack of revenue it’s understandable that some elements look derelict but great to see new enclosures being built too! Will definitely return in the summer

Great for the kids, food a little expensive if you have a big family, but take a pack lunch there are loads of picnic areas and grass areas. My kids love coming here, great little fun fair at the end for little kids not to pricey. There are also a few play areas for kids to play so you can have a stop and sit down with a coffee. Great feed the birds. Great walk about with the animals at the farm bit. Great zoo

Great little zoo in and around the castle grounds. I would recommend taking the chairlift or the train up to the top of the hill and work your way down to the fair rides. Great variety of animals and plenty of places to eat on site. Has parking.

Wonderful place to visit in the heart of Dudley Town centre. Parking is to the rear of the zoo which is easy to find. Ample space and a pay on exit system £3.50 for all day parking. The Zoo has an extensive range of animals to see and activities for the children to keep them amused. The farmyard area is worth a visit too. As part of your preparation I would suggest you studied the map, there are a lack of signpost to assist your travel from attraction to attraction. The castle ruins are also impressive and on a clear day the visibility is uninterrupted. The land train is also an added bonus. Animals looked well and there was a flurry of activity from feed to cleaning out by the Zoo staff. It must also be mentioned there is a fair amount of uphill ascents so a pair of comfortable and supportive footwear must be a vital consideration. Food outlets were plentiful although we didn't partake. A small well maintained zoo, friendly staff and an extensive range of animals to see.

We had a lovely time here at Dudley zoo. You’ll definitely get your work out with the hills and castle ground. They are also building what appears to be a new enclosure. Lots of staff cleaning the animals cages a lot of love looking after each one. Even the staff in the cafe were rushed off their feet but still served with a smile (this is rare). A fantastic day out and the cheapest around regarding animal days out. Plus a free return which is fantastic so when you book its two days for the price you pay.

Very good layout and lots of viewing points to see the animals! All animals we saw looked healthy, however some enclosured could of been more spacious. Good eating places, and not crowded at all (went on a Monday however). Not expensive. Train ride was good to get to the top and worked our way down the Zoo.

It was our first time here and it was a nice experience, the day was perfect. Location was very relaxing and enjoyable as it had a nice view of the castle. The animals are well taken care of and the cages were clean and big enough for them to move around in. We had a wonderful time here and hope we come back again soon.

It had been a while since I'd last been to this Zoo. We found it to be extremely well run and laid out. Fantastic array of animals and feeding the little birds intense as they land on you to feed. Handy food stops though out the grounds with a splash of history about the castle its self. We managed to spend a full day exploring. Walk though the lemur enclosure for a fantastic close up experience.

We had a great day at Dudley Zoo. Easy parking, and check in, the train was waiting by the entrance, the chap working on the train was very very helpful, popping out pram in the back. We went on a very cold January day, but there was still alot to see. Some of the animals were in the warm in various enclosures, but there was easy viewing. They all looked in great health and everyone we spoke to was very helpful. We're looking forward to using our free return later on in the year when the weather is a bit warmer!

Love Dudley zoo. I wish I lived closer so could visit more often. Very clean zoo.very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Nice collection of animals. It would be really nice if some organisation could help fund Dudley tho.the buildings are dilapidated, and rely on visitors to help their renovations.

Lisa and Steve do a fab job looking after and caring for their stunning birds. I've worked with them twice, once here and once on location, on separate group photoshoots and both have been exceptional. As a photographer, it is great to see welfare of the birds comes first and foremost, but a close second was working tirelessly to ensure we get excellent images. Whether you’re after one of their experience packages or want a tailored commercial, advertising, filming or photographic package they are thoroughly recommended.

It's a nice place to visit, learn, walk, and relax. The animals are in good hands, everything is spot on and the staff are awesome. One thing, don't eat there, in the restaurant. The portions are very small and expensive.

Been going here since l was a child. Brings back good memories so has sentiment value. Went on a Sunday so was fairly busy. Parking was adequate and is chargeable. Tigers were awesome as were other large cats. The two giraffes were interesting to observe. The little train ride to the castle entrance is nice. Meerkats were nice to watch and are cute as they instinctively stand upright to watch their surroundings. The views from the top of the castle ruins are simply breathtaking. The restaurant is were it starts to go horribly wrong. The food is mediocre at best and very expensive for what it is. I would suggest taking sandwiches and snacks.

I’ve been a few times already, but it has not disappointed. Love the animals and even managed to see the lions. I personally will recommend to get your own food as it doesn’t really cater for halal food. Well not that I saw. We took subway and had it in the cafeteria. Prices for food is ok. I have seen worse in other places. Plenty for everyone to see and definitely place I would recommend. It was raining but we still loved it

Was so impressed with this zoo. Probably the best one I have ever been to. Can see and observe the animals really well and take brilliant photos because there are very few cages. It is on a hill, but there's a free little train or cable car if needed. The lemurs, sea lion and orangutans were the must see for us. Totally fascinating to watch. Only downside was finding our way around without missing anything. Nearly missed a whole section because we came down the hill instead of full circle. The castle area is relaxing and beautiful. Food/snacks were dotted around the zoo and had a good choice. Can easily spend the whole day here.

What a better way to spend a day with your family and grandchildren. The excitement on my grandson's little face when he saw the animals was beyond my imagination. The squealing of that little boy made it worthwhile. History can be re lived in the ruins and the surrounding views are astonishing. There is a play area, rides and gift shop. Good park as well.

A great day out for the whole family. Social distancing in place but generally down to yourself to maintain with many kids around during the holidays. Staff, though didn't see many were friendly when approached. Following the map is straight forward and covered the whole park in the day. Will be going back to visit with the family again

A very enjoyable zoo within castle grounds. It is much larger than I expected as it is located so near to Dudley town centre. A good array of animals on show, this is also a conservation zoo with breeding pairs. An interesting area within the castle ruins of animals that would have roamed the castle in its day ie: mice, rats and bats etc of course behind glass but interesting to see. A good cafe with a good menu and a good shop. My only criticism is that the car park could be better signposted, other than that an enjoyable day out.

My 13 year old son and I spent a magical time yesterday with Lisa and Steve. The setting was beautifully clean and the welcome warm. Steve and Lisa are obviously besotted with their amazing birds and happily told us so much about each one. It was fascinating. The atmosphere was wonderful and relaxed and felt more like we had been invited to their home to be introduced to and spend time with the family. My son suffers from anxiety but this didn't matter at all, he was able to have a fantastic experience with many thanks to Lisa and Steve. I highly recommend this hidden gem in Shropshire.

The kids always love a trip to Dudley Zoo, and it's lovely to have something like this in an area you wouldn't necessarily expect. Bar some rude other members of the public in the gift shop (which, obviously, can't be helped and is nothing to do with the zoo itself), a lovely day was had by all.

Plenty to do here to fill your day up, easy booking, easy parking, easy admission and probably the cleanest, well kept animals and grounds I've been too.wasnt expecting it to be as good, plus there a schedule sheet with your ticket for times on talks about the animals.few climbing/park areas/fayre/picnic areas/foods stall etc Good fun-filled day here.

This is an affordable and great place for a day out with the kids. There are tigers, giraffes and other animals we don't often get to see. There is also a mini train that takes you up to the top near the castle, where you can go up into one of the turrets and get a glorious view! When you're hungry there's a delightful picnic area near a cafe that sells great food ( roll over hot dogs!) And refreshments. Kids are restless? There's face painting available at a reasonable cost too! Don't forget to ride the cable car to round your day off! A fun day out for all the family.

Fantastic day out. Well planned site around the remains of the medieval castle, which in most places would be an attraction on its own, not the centre point of the zoo. When we arrived we were concerned due to my wife's mobility issues Vs the steep hills, however the well planned layout means you can catch the road train to the castle at the top, the circle around the whole zoo heading down. The animals are all settled and looked after, and the wife choice makes it worthwhile for animal fans if any age. Nuf I had to complain about anything, it would be the timing of talks (at least in the day we went) were all at 12, so you had to pick and choose which ones you went to (birds of prey in the castle field us brilliant)

fascinating zoo. The area is not very large and you can see all the animals in 1 half day. It was amazing to see snow leopards and sea lions. On the territory of the zoo there are interesting signs about the preserved structures. therefore there is a feeling of a special retro style. It is clear that the animals are cared for. Be sure to visit the castle - it will take about 30 minutes - but you will definitely remember it for a long time

It is a fantastic place to visit for the whole family, though some parts may not be assessable for people in wheelchairs or electric scooters because of the medieval castle location, so the zoo is on an hill . But overall such a wonderful day out and the staff are kind and polite . You can get meet the animals days and many other experiences plus the castle has some shows sometimes.

We loved our recent visit to the zoo, we got to see some amazing animals and learned quite a bit, too. The site is much bigger than I remembered it from when I was a boy, and we barely got round half in the 3 or so hours we were there. So much to see that you could easily spend most of the day here with all the enclosures, interesting talks, and the castle of course! Can't wait for our next visit.

Haven't visited in years and wasn't disappointed. I love the aesthetics of this zoo, little surprises as you go along. There is a lot of work going on to improve things for animals and visitors alike. All the animals are well cared for and it's clear to see the passion the keepers have. The children loved the sand play area, on a fairly bleak, but dry, day in February they were in their element. We also all loved the leema's walk through enclosure. They are brave inquisitive little animals who kept a close eye on us. 😁. All in all great value for money with a free return visit as part of the ticket price, which we will definitely be using. Oh and the views from the top of the castle are spectacular.

Me and my partner went here back in June this year! Absolutely brilliant! The food was nice though a bit pricey😊, view from the castle was amazing! 🤩 Animals were fun to see, lots of opportunities to take photos and have a lovely experience. I did see wheelchair users and pushchairs having difficulty getting round to each animal/areas. But apart from that, lovely zoo to go too, animals are well kept and looked after💖

I had a truly incredible experience visiting the zoo today. The vast array of animal species was truly amazing and left me in awe. From majestic lions to playful monkeys, the variety of animals on display was simply breathtaking. I was thrilled to see so many different creatures up close and learn more about their behavior and habitats. Overall, it was an unforgettable adventure that I will always cherish.

A good scenic route with some beautiful animals. Avoid visiting during winter months due to the limited number of animals that come out of their shelter. Excellent covid precautions have been taken. One line passages for everyone's protection. Plenty of parking is available.

This place was an unexpected find. Placed on a hill in the middle of town, it’s really well laid out and has a great variety of animals, with good size enclosures. Unexpected treat is the house/castle at the top and the art outside. Definitely recommend a visit!

This is a local treasure... My daughter and me love going as often as we can... Great day out no matter the weather.

Great place for a family day out! Adults and kids will enjoy the variety of animals and activities like the sandpit, funfair, historical castle and play areas. Plenty of outdoor tables and benches to take a break and eat if you've brought your own parked lunches or buy food and drink at reasonable prices from their cafes and kiosks. Wheelchair accessibilty is ok but challenging in some places. Plenty of parking nearby too. Covid has meant some attractions are unavailable - some animal areas, cafes and the chairlift taking you up the hill - but still a very packed day! Just check beforehand if you wanted to do specific things when visiting.

I've been generous maybe worth an awful lot shut (50% at least) but credit where credit is due: Social distancing signage and clean stations were plentiful. Lots of toilets. Animals looked well kept and "happy", some small enclosures but that's just me being a secret activist at heart. Loads of areas to rest and pushchair (double) friendly, just. No food stops open. Shop was decent enough with some fiver priced items including plush toys and named gift mugs, hip flasks etc. No feeding allowed and some empty units. Most kept to social distancing. Probably a few more staff policing that would be good at the moment. Castle mainly closed and more of a ruin now with only a small walk through some stinky bats (that were kept in far too light an environment). Very reasonably priced. Potential for a 5 star day out, realistically a 3 at the mo so giving it a 4. :)

Best zoo in the UK, still a lot of walking to see everything, but good selection of animals, the zoo has worked very hard to upgrade enclosures. Lemur Wood is the best, you get up close to the lemurs, the most cute animals

Had a great day out with the family. One of the finest attractions in Dudley. With it being so big we spent the whole day there. This is the first time I had been there even though it is on my doorstep. The children had a great time and we would all go back again when it is possible.

I came to visit this zoo with my college on a trip and the state of some of the enclosures devastated me. I had a zoo keeper tell me that the point of the enclosures was so that people could actually see their animals and that is not right, you should be conserving species, not letting your tigers pace in an indoor area so small that he was hitting his head on the glass with every turn. The giraffes were drinking water from a shed gutter and the large male had the loudest crepitus I had ever heard. I will not be spending my money here again, absolutely awful.

There's lots to do and see and the gift shop is great too. The Zoo is doing a conservation project which is very interesting. All ages are welcome . • 4/5 Rashmi B N. 3 years ago on Google
Lovely zoo, grounds are maintained nicely and clean. Animal enclosures also look well maintained. Four stars because the space allocated for animals is not very big, it will be so much better if they could increase the space allocated for animal enclosures, feels sad to see these lovely furry beings kept in small enclosures (especially the big cats and giraffes, elephants).

  • 5/5 Zoe R. 3 years ago on Google
I went here after it reopened, the place is very vast so really easy to socially distance, it was a really nice day out, pack food with you as most of their kiosks are closed at the moment and it's quite a vast site, so you want not want to walk back to the main shop area. But the toilets are still open.

  • 3/5 Denese H. 3 years ago on Google
I really enjoy the freedom of the zoo and the safety factor for children.😊 However atm there aren't many animals there compared to the last time I visited..alot of the cages were empty to the point I felt we should have had some kind of Discounted entry price 🙄 Due to COVID 19 the show's weren't on I.e birds..sea lions ..farm animal interaction, and the playgrounds are closed!! Large Cats slept pretty much all day! kids were disappointed because the viewing area didn't provide good view of them😔 We were there from 10am to 4pm. Best View Butterflies, Elephants and Giraffes 🥰🥰 Zoo is tidy, bathrooms are clean. Some animals roam free I.e mini kangaroos, hares and some birds.

Another fabulous trip to ZSL Whipsnade today! The staff are really going above and beyond to help people move around the zoo safely. Hand sanitising stations are everywhere you need them to be and the very friendly staff help control how many people are going in and out of indoor spaces. Everything looks really clean and well maintained including the animal enclosures. Can’t wait to go back!

Love coming to this zoo. Big, wide open spaces. Great for a day out and walk in the fresh air whatever the weather. If you enjoy photography this place is superb with the large animal enclosures and surrounding countryside. Free parking as well which in today’s age of charging for everything is very welcome. Would be good to see incentives for EV cars being allowed in to the zoo without paying extra or at the least at a discounted rate.

Amazing Zoo. Every easy to social distance. Highly recommend going over the covid festive period. They really need to do something about the speed of people driving round the zoo though. Twice we nearly got run over because people broke the speed limit, made worse with young excited children running around.

  • 5/5 FT K. 3 years ago on Google
Brilliant. The 7 year old niece absolutely loves the place. Very educational and leads of things to do - including a fabulous train ride. Above all though, are the animals. Plenty of them, easy to see and looked well looked after. In truth I'd rather see animals in the wild (only) but Whipsnade appears to have found a (humane) balance. All he animals looked in good nick and well cared for.

We had a very wet day here but still managed to have a good look around. There were not many places to find shelter from the weather and queues were very long to get into cafes and butterfly house due to Covid19 restrictions. We had boots and trainers on but really could have done with our wellies! We made the best of the unpredictable British weather but it would have been a nicer experience and more enjoyable on a dry day. This is a full day out if you want to try and see it all, the place is huge, you will be walking lots so sensible footwear is a must. It will be nice to go back again with less restrictions, hopefully when the sun is shining and play areas are open 😊

It is a massive zoo.very spread out. However there were not many animals. Since each area for specific animals are so big, it was hard to spot them and they were too far away. We were thinking of buying annual pass but don't think we will be revisiting.

  • 4/5 Zo S. 3 years ago on Google
Whipsnade is a huge place, I don't think its possible to see everything in one day especially if you have children with you. The enclosures are great and there was so many animals to see, it was a good day out! The only bad point is it was rather busy and crowded so it was hard to social distance and there wasn't many sanitiser stations around.

  • 5/5 Jocelyn D. 3 years ago on Google

An excellent day out, the residents look well cared for & have a good amount of space. The current pandemic restrictions caused a few annoyances, but that's not ZSL's fault. A great destination for a family day out or even just for a couple. Worth taking the car in for £12.50 (winter rate from beginning of November) a bit steep at £25.00 for the summer rate, but it is a charitable venture so it's a way of raising funds without making the ticket prices too high for everyone.

  • 5/5 Uma D. 3 years ago on Google
This zoo was amazing! My family I really had a great experience. We went during covid 19, the lines were busy and it actually felt normal apart from the 2 metres apart and wearing face masks. The staff were friendly and people we who visited were ok...apart from one lady I asked if she could take a pic she nodded her head to say no as if I was the human covid plague😂. Other then this we had a wonderful time! Definitely do visit this zoo x

Half an hour drive from Birmingham city. Definitely worth visiting once. PLEASE DO BOOK IN ADVANCE IN THE WEBSITE as they don't allow any on spot entries. Loads of animals inside and definitely kids would love it. You have toilets and place to eat too inside. Reducing one mark for the lack of maintenance of certain spots like kiosk which is now like old buildings

Went to the zoo having been to the Black Country Living Museum the day before. What a delight. Friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable staff and great animals in a lovely setting. Many historic 1930's art deco animal enclosures still in use. A hilly walk around as the zoo is built in a castle grounds, but a tractor-bus service runs regularly. Get to the top and there is a well-preserved, large, ruined castle with views of the area. Met a couple of guys doing the zookeeper for a day experience - they looked like they were having great fun feeding the giraffes and lions! One for another time. All-in-all, a great day out for everyone, from kids though to adults.

The Dudley Zoo and Castle it's a such a good place to visit! There you can see many different and rare animals like a Snow leopard, a Sumatran tiger, a Humboldt penguin, and so many more. Dudley castle was built 11th century. From the top of the castle there is an amazing view and you can see the whole city.

Well worth visiting, a place also worth going back to. Plenty of animals to look at, if you love birds you might be lucky and have one or two land on you👍, we were lucky that we saw most animals but not guaranteed. Castle 🏰 well worth a walk around, great seeing the bats👏

Lovely zoo great variety of animals. Lovely area and surroundings. Some animals looked very sad and lonely doesn’t feel like a happy environment. Staff in gift shop were rude

Great day out. The view from top of the castle was beautiful with great scenery all around. The animals in the zoo were hiding because of the cold weather but the kids had a lovely time in trying to spot the animal

We were lucky enough to go on a really quiet day which made the day brilliant, we got to see the animals up close and they were all active and happy looking. Usually though on busier days, there just isn't enough space to spend any time admiring the animals as people want you to move on so quickly so they can stand in the limited viewing spaces. Staff clearly work super hard and are brilliant with children and adults alike, the cafe is terribly over priced however, and the hot drinks are terrible, take a picnick!!

Amazing day out with my girlfriend We went on a weekday and it was relatively empty which was really nice as it allowed us to take our time and enjoy the enclosures in peace. Our day lasted 5hours in which we were able to see everything. The staff were lovely and helped to direct us to the red panda Ember when we couldn't find the new enclosure.

Went to the under 5's Teddy Bears picnic with my daughter and her Nan. We had a lovely day out, plenty to see and do. My daughter loved the giant sandpit, the play equipment and the clown. I liked the bats in the castle and the monkeys. Lots of photo opportunities. Spent the whole day there.

Haven't been for a while but can see there's lots going on in terms of new enclosures and things. Really liked it. It's needed a good make over for a long time. Keep up all the good work. It's really coming on.👌

I would love to give this 5 stars just for the hard work and commitment the staff give. Having been here on quite a few occasions, it's obviously changed not for the better. It's apparent the whole place is lacking funds and looks run down in places. The castle grounds seemed neglected Work is / has been done to try to improve the animals environment. Some of the animals didn't seem interested in their environment, no movement, no interaction for them, plus there don't seem to be as many animals as their used to be. This aside, it's not all bad. We enjoyed walking around, and some animals were a delight and put a smile on our faces. On this occasion, several schools were visiting, and the kids seemed to enjoy themselves.

Amazing little hidden gem. Whole place is very well kept, animals clearly very well looked after and a surprisingly good variety of animals also. Staff were also very friendly and helpful...especially as we booked the wrong day!!

I went with my daughter for a zoo keeper experience. Had a great time getting close to and feeding the animals, the keeper's are friendly and knowledgeable. A great day out and well worth it.

What a fantastic visit to Dudley Zoo we had this weekend! Quality family time spent learning about a variety of different species, many of which are on the endangered list. Highlights were definitely the Snow Lepoards,Red Panda and Sloths, but it wasn't just watching the animals, we got to walk amongst quite a few of them too. Check out the lemur video!! Not only that but it gave us a chance to be brave and try the zoos chair lift....not for the fainthearted for sure but lots of fun! 😅The zoo also had a clear and strong message of sustainability and conservation running through it with incredible sculptures and artwork around the grounds supporting this. It was also great to see so many new enclosures and on going improvements being made to support the welfare of the animals they house. A gem of a zoo, we can't wait to go back!

Lovely zoo where you can get pretty close to a range of different animals, from wolverine to chimp, sea lion to snakes. The castle is an added bonus and worth climbing the spiral stairs of the keep to have an impressive view of the surrounding town. There's a nice display area in that part too, about the animals that inhabited the castle in times gone past. There's also a chair lift to give the zoo an extra spin which is a good experience, though children must be 7 or over and there's a minimum height requirement.

Wonderful Zoo with a large variety of animals, who all looked happy. Expect to be able to get close to a whole lot which you wouldn't be able to at other places. There's free-roaming peacocks, as well as a lemur, a wallaby and a bird walk-through exhibit. There's a small farm area where you can also pet some small farm animals such as goats, pigs and chickens. When we visited, the tigers, lynx and quite a few other larger animals were right up next to the glass or mesh wire, making it an even more enjoyable experience. As we went during a slightly rainy day, it wasn't as busy as it could be, which was nice, as the animals were still very active.

Great day out took grandson to see the animals such a well presented Zoo plenty of places to eat and the grandson loved his train ride you can see that the people who run the zoo and staff are taking great pride in there work the animals looked happy and we'll cared for. some of the enclosures are old but very well maintained. Castle grounds well kept, some areas where closed off but could clearly see that renovation work was being done. So if you want a day out with your partner on your own or it's a day for the whole family Dudley Zoo and castle is the place.

A fantastic day out, I've been to many zoo's but this one, you get up so close to some of the animals. The orangatang Benji is adorable ❤️❤️. The zoo offers animal experiences, I was lucky enough to see the giraffe one, and I definitely want to go back and feed them. Most of the experiences are £110 which is for 2 people pretty reasonable. If you take children, I would definitely recommend taking a packed lunch as food is a little on the expensive side. We had two burgers and a pot of fries that was £16 which I think is expensive.

Great day out with the kids with plenty to see and do. We especially liked the walk in Lemar enclosure and seeing the giraffes. Food pricing is pretty competitive with other places in the area we ate.

Love this zoo it's a great place to walk around and spend the day. If you would like something to eat at the restaurant it can get very busy. It is best to use the qr code and order the food and pay at the table. They will bring the food to you. It's steep walking up hill in some parts but you can hire a mobility scooter or take the train to the top by the castle or the cable cars. If you arrive at the zoo by car there is a large car park which is £3.50 all day.

I really enjoyed visiting and seeing the huge variety of animals here, as well as the amazing view from up by the castle. We came here on a Tuesday afternoon in October, so it was very quiet and nothing was open to get something to eat or drink.

This place was great, the only thing we didn’t see was the lion, everything else was out, I’m very “anti zoo” … or was. Very informative, and extremely knowledgeable people who work there. I loved every second of it and it was raining all day 😳 I honestly didn’t mind, will definitely be going again.

Had an amazing day and the sun was shining and it was warm considering it was November! Wasn't too busy and food in the café was really nice. Staff were friendly. Free kids tickets with a paying adult was great. Loads of the animals were out and about and they are very well cared for. Love having the zoo on my doorstep.

Amazing experience, full of memories for my family. I recommend absolutely. I've been to other zoos and this is the closest I've been to some of the animals that are there. Staff is friendly and helpful. If you need something to eat do not go to anything outside of the zoo. They have lovely tea rooms and burger stalls , freshly cooked that made us regret eating at Frankie's and Benny's.
