This is a great place to stay. Held a birthday party for my son at the Lift Bridge Lodge right after it first opened so everything was brand new. The lobby is beautiful with a nice, cozy waiting area near the front desk. The breakfast area is right next lobby and they have a decent selection of breakfast foods in the morning. The pool area is really nice as well. It's right off the lobby. There is a nice size pool and two hot tubs. The hotel rooms were nice. I didn't find them to be anything special or fancy just a pretty basic hotel. The room was clean and had an amazing view of Lake Superior! The view from the room was my favorite part. The hotel is located in Canal Park in Duluth which is a great location for tourists since it's right next to Lake Superior and the infamous Lift Bridge. Overall, this is a great place to stay when visiting Duluth or to throw a birthday party.

I was in Duluth for a conference. This hotel did not disappoint. Located next to the left bridge and canal park, great for not having to drive anywhere. Service was prompt and friendly. I had two different rooms (one with and one without a balcony) for my stay and the transition from room to room was easy. Both rooms were clean up on entry. Stay came with breakfast. It was a decent breakfast, I was able to pick up biscuits and gravy, sausage link and eggs with cheese. Hotel has a pool with a spa and a small fitness facility. This hotel is kid friendly, pets are not allowed. Also, cleaning service is not daily, but you can leave a hanger on your door to request it if needed. I would recommend this hotel if you are staying in Duluth and want to be close to Canal Park and the convention center.

We had a beautiful room and view. We noticed the next morning when we turned on one of the lamps (that we hadn't used the night before) that there was food crumbs behind the lamp. I took a picture and showed the front desk as we checked out. The person made a "gross" face and said sorry. That was it. We wrote a review/comment to the Lodge directly and they said sorry hope you will try us again. That was it! I guess they really don't want us coming back.

This hotel would be 5 stars if the suites were cleaned. The service was great, the location couldn't be better and the breakfast was really good. However, we were hoping to use the fold out couch for sleeping and that was not happening with how gross and dirty it was. The couch cushions had something nasty spilt on it, and when we opened it up, there were crumbs and hairs all over it and the sheets... Luckily the babies slept through the night and we were able to all sleep in the same room together. Also, I don't think the place was vacuumed. There were dust clumps and hair in the bathroom floor. Also the mini fridge had not been cleaned. There was sticky things on each rack and I had to clean it out. However, the shower was clean and the beds seemed clean which I was happy about. This place would have been fantastic if there was more attention to detail with cleaning the suite.

Located next to the lift bridge. Walking distance to all the main lake front attractions, 10 min walk or so to the aquarium. Rooms were clean and spacious. The continental breakfast was great, with lots of options. We appreciated the hotels efforts in keeping people healthy during their stay. The pool was a pleasant temperature, and the kids had a blast. We would return for a stay.

If you get a lake side room the view is phenomenal 🤩. The room itself left a bit to be desired, more of a hotel feel than a resort. The bed was clean and comfy though. The couch/pullout bed had crumbs all over it and one of the ottomans had some kind of residue down the side of it. I didn’t need either of those so no sweat. I’ve attached a picture of the bathtub and for sure this cost a star in my opinion. The staff were great 😊. Location is prime for views and food/drinks.

The staff here, from the manager on down needs to be be educated on how to provide good service, and learn to develop a true desire to strive to help guests enjoy their stay. Unfortunately, The staff at this hotel is unfriendly, vindictive, and downright rude. They all must be extremely unhappy because they don’t even say hi and welcome you when you check in. You need to know that if you stay here, no housekeeping is provided at all unless you fill out a poorly worded, confusing request form absolutely perfectly and get it out on your door handle at 9:00am sharp. The directions on this form are not clear. We came back to our room at 2:00 one afternoon and our bed was unmade and the entire room hadn’t been cleaned. I was exhausted and simply wanted a nap. I complained, and all hell broke loose! Three catty staff members (all women) talked condescendingly to me and blamed me for not checking the correct box on the door hanger request. They said I didn’t put it out on time when I put it out at 8:36. They should have just said “sorry, we’ll take care of it” but no! They raked me over the coals to the point I cried! They were determined to berate me! My advice to the staff here is to quit blaming your bad service on the guests! I don’t need to hear that you are short on staff or that God forbid, I checked the wrong box! Just calmly say “I’ll take care of it.” We’ve been staying at this hotel once a year for the past 20+ years, and I can assure you that service has gone way way down while the cost has increased! The location can’t be beat, but that’s it. As to cleanliness, the drain on the bar sink was black and had some junk in it. The bottom of the shower curtain was tinted orangey-pink because of mildew, and the grout in the shower was black and moldy in places. They are stingy with the toiletries. Finally, the deadbolt on the door didn’t work.

We have always enjoyed staying here. This year we talked to some of the staff and asked who owned the Hotel. He said the owner was very nice and treated the staff like people and not just employees. Good for the owner and I will stay here again because of that. Breakfast was very good, great variety of hot/cold food. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Rooms were comfortable and provided comfortable in-room chair and loveseat seating facing the lake. Plenty of available parking during the week including Handicap parking. The free breakfast offered had many items to choose from but the cooked eggs, sausage and potatoes were marginal at best. Pool and hot tubs were great!

This was a quick trip for the weekend. We had room 220 which is close to the stairs and the elevator but had a nice view of the lake. Unfortunately it rained the weekend we were there so cloudy, wet and damp - certainly not the fault of the Lodge. Location is closet to the Lift Bridge, Grandma's Restaurant in Canal Park. Furnishings two queen beds, a TV, small refrigerator, a microwave, a desk, the bathroom was nice sized and had a combination tub/shower. Breakfast is good scrambled eggs with cheese and without cheese, sausage, sliced ham, American potatoes, assorted bagels, donut, and bread, fruit cups, assorted fruit, juices (apple, cranberry, and orange). Milk and coffee too. There is a separate area to make your own Belgium Waffles. There is a pool located near the entrance to the hotel. We didn't use it but seemed to be a draw for kids and teens while we were there. I'll end this here. I believe this gives you an overview of the hotel. Its not 4 star but it's nice for a weekend or week getaway with family and friends. We normally make a few trips per year to Duluth and we usually end up staying at the Lodge.

Perfect location! Spacious rooms with pull out couch bed, microwave, and mini fridge. The TV connection kept cutting in and out where it wasn't watchable so you may want to bring a tablet for kids

Had one night in a King Suite with Lake View. Parking was included with room. The room was clean. Mattress firm. Rooms seem to be soundproofed well. I thought it was relatively quiet, considering you are in a busy area of town. I liked that the hotel doors don't slam shut. I did hear the lift bridge horn once in the middle of the night, but that didn't bother me since that was why I was there. The room had a slight odor to it on arrival. I noticed that you can open the windows, so my guess is that whoever was before us was smoking or vaping in the room. It wasn't a deal breaker or necessitating a room change. I liked the fact they had GOOD coffee and ice water available in the afternoon. The patio was a nice place to sit. Breakfast had a decent selection. There were lots of messy people with children and the staff were doing their best at keeping everything clean and stocked. They have a pool which I did not use, but there were a lot of families having a good time. I enjoyed my stay here.

Front desk staff were very friendly & helpful throughout our 2 night stay at this property. We had the 2 bedroom family suite with a lakeview and it definitely did not disappoint as we had plenty of room as well as the opportunity to watch ships at every hour of the day or night. The free continental breakfast was honestly one of the best complimentary hotel breakfasts that I've ever had and they even switch up a few options every day. The location of this property was exceptional being located right in canal park which meant that even in the winter we were able to walk to a lot of our planned activities. There's no doubt in my mind that we will stay here again in the future on our annual Duluth trips.

My kids stayed here a year ago and said it was such a nice place. So when we went back to visit my son in college they suggested this be the place we stay at. Although the place is very nice breakfast was a joke. It was like standing in the lunch line in middle school. You had to have a lunch ticket and give them to the staff as they were standing be behind the tables serving breakfast. And the only options were cheesy eggs, regular eggs and a slice of ham, cinnamon roll, yogurt, or an apple, or granola bar. And there was literally no where to sit as the dinning area was over crowded with other gusts. So myself with my 2 little kids and 2 older kids had to take our trays back to our rooms to eat. The kids couldn't swim because there were so many people in the pool so crowded. It was so disappointing. My older kid's said it was nothing like this the first time they stayed and and for $350 (a night this weekend )I hope they don't keep it like that. With all that said it is a nice hotel and the view outside is beautiful and the rooms very nice and staff was friendly which is why I'm gave a 4 star review.

We came for our anniversary and got a suite with a bridge “view”. It was an amazing CLEAN room with a big jacuzzi bathtub, wrap around balcony, spacious shower, comfortable bed and cozy fireplace! We had a clear view of the Bentleyville lights from our balcony door and a view of both the lake and bridge. We got to see the lift bridge in action within 10 minutes of being there, so cool! Within walking distance of tons of cute shops and eats, my favorites are the global village and lake avenue restaurant and bar! The breakfast was actually much better than expected, with plenty of variety and the ladies working were so sweet and helpful! Check in & out were very easy and convenient! The pool is small but they have 2 hot tubs, which was nice!

Could not have had a better experience. Lovely clean room and spotless common areas. Nice pool and whirlpools. Best of all the best location to access many attractions such as the lake walk, restaurants, shops etc. Would definitely stay again

Very happy with our stay at this hotel. Overall, rooms were very clean, quiet and had nicer amenities than most. All staff we friendly and accommodating. Also, can't beat them views from the rooms and.surrounding shops, things to do and restaurants.

We had a very strange room king bed. It was a very large room with a separate alcove (no door to make it a separate room) with a king bed. Two things lowered the room. One, the insanely bright alarm clock that would not be dimmed. It looked was a blur white migraine inducing light, even when covered by a towel. Second, and more.important since you can unplug the clock, the bed was only slightly softer then the floor. Lots of small pillows was confusing, but the mattress. Lord my hip aches thinking about it. Also, be careful scheduling a room online. I accidentally signed up for a room with two queen beds that they honored. Still, I though I had booked a king room with a balcony and I did not look closely enough at the confirmation. They moved us to the room I described above for the same price, so it is hard to be upset.

Outstanding location in the Canal Park area of Duluth. The entire staff was friendly and outgoing, our rooms were spotless, very comfortable and spacious. We really enjoyed the balcony and proximity to the port and the walking path on the lakefront. I highly recommend this property, we'll definitely be returning!

Best hotel I’ve stayed at in Canal Park area. Rooms are surprisingly comfortable and loaded with little amenities that make a big difference. Very comfortable beds and super clean. Hot breakfast was very good. Scrambled eggs with cheese, sausages, seasoned potatoes and sweet rolls. Standard issue but was above average grade in quality.
