I had a fantastic stay! The rooms were spacious, breakfast was better than most hotels, and I loved that they had a fire pit for guest to use at night. It was a little far from the downtown area, but if you don’t mind driving a few minutes, then it should be fine. Side note- I know it’s probably not a big deal for some, but I thought it was so exciting that they served Jimmy Dean sandwiches for breakfast.

Great location, clean rooms, good hot breakfast but not as good as it was before the pandemic. No evening meal provided now. Accessibility is good, but a zero height step in shower would improve things a lot. The kitchen is ok for accessibility but not great for reaching things like glasses and plates from a wheelchair.

Other than bring nestled away from the shoreline, this hotel is a great find! The staff is friendly. Excellent continental breakfast. Clean rooms. Having the kitchenette was the best. We really loved having a full sized fridge and dishwasher! You are close to cub foods, target, and even costco is nearby. I really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

The rooms are nice and the front desk is friendly. My big complaint is that selections you make on the app don't seem to get read by the staff. I had checked in with my mobile device the day before, my app showed me as checked in and awaiting my mobile key, but when I arrived the next evening the hotel did not think I had checked in so my mobile key wasn't sent. I prefer to skip stopping at the desk. I travel weekly and I prefer using the app over face to face. It's faster and less stressful. I had also selected on the app during check in that I did NOT want housekeeping at all during my stay. Housekeeping came in the very NEXT day. Personally, I don’t like my things touched by strangers or for them to be around my stuff when I am not there, especially since COVID. They had moved my pajamas, which feels like a personal space invasion to me. It left me very uncomfortable. I sleep in those, please don’t touch them. In fact, don't come in when someone opts out of a service. Things like this are why I selected no housekeeping so I can relax and not feel like my sleeping space was invaded. I just don't know why the app would ask whether you want a service or not if no one reads it. If I had known the app selection is ignored I would have told the front desk to avoid the anxiety attack.

Not that great for a newer hotel. Many of the issues have to do with the building itself. The front door is actually kinda of hard to find when first visiting. It is down steps or awkwardly placed ramps/sidewalks that do not lend ease of use with luggage cart and sharp turn needed to make numerous times. Property and parking is built into a hillside, so hard to get to parking/doors without long walks. Room was ok, but starting to show age already. Carpet is fraying at transitions and carpet tacks poking out. Door to room showed light on bottom (due to door sweep starting to come off) and on lock side. Door needed a pull to shut completely. Not ideal. Staff was ok to deal with, mainly at breakfast. Was pleasantly surprised that whirlpool was fixed on a Sunday morning. Breakfast was bland and after 3 days of largely the same menu, it got old. No bacon :( Breakfast seating can be cumbersome given seating options that are of varying styles, sizes and table heights especially when at capacity. It would be nice to have more 4 seat tables for families.

We were placed at Residence Inn by our renters insurance after our apartment flooded on September 11th. This hotel was a Godsend. Everyone working was so nice. The beds were super comfy, kitchen was so great we could make our own meals again. And the fireplace was a nice touch to make it even more home feeling. I wanted to do a special thanks to the amazing housekeeping crew! Lacy, Ashley and Amanda were wonderful! Unfortunately we didn't get to try out the hot tub of pool but we will be back to take a relaxing staycation once we are settled. Thank you again!

Beds are extremely uncomfortable. Housekeeping is short staffed so they skip days. Breakfast is phenomenal. All the staff is very pleasant. But for the price there could be some things done to make it seem like you're getting your money's worth.

Decent place rooms are very clean and done daily which is rare now! Very nice customer service clerks. Complimentary breakfast is consistently good. Guest are respectful. Pet friendly hotel, Hallways have no odor, and cleaned well. Gym is basic featuring a lot of cardio machines and dumb bells for weight lifting. Hotel is near a Starbucks and has a Cub grocery store near by that offers 24 hour service.

The town of Duluth is lovely, and being a loyal member of Marriott, I was really expecting a wonderful stay as usual. Staff was very pleasant, I did have an issue with cleanliness, completed the Marriott survey, and did have the General Manager reach out with regard to my concerns, which is positive. Unfortunately, I will not be staying at this hotel in the future as I am not confident that the rooms are cleaned to the standards of which they are charging. My stay of three nights totaled over $1300, and I had to bring to the attention of staff 3 separate times the issue of black mold at the bottom of the sink faucet drain which in my opinion, is ridiculous. And, to top it off, by the time we departed, it still wasn't cleaned and the cleaning staff's contention was that they didn't see any mold per the GM's email to me. In my whole Google review lifetime, I have never submitted a review that has been less than 5 stars prior to this experience.

False fire alarm caused by a guest cooking was handled well. Ultimately, DFD had to clear the building but everyone and the property were fine.

We have traveled many places. This hotel was set up the best for comfort and privacy of a family of 4. For Duluth, this is the suggested hotel. Great location, staff is professional and friendly. Accommodations are available. Thank you for a a relaxing retreat. Honestly wished more hotels would design their suites this way!!

Edit: changing my review due to multiple issues last time. GM did contact me to resolve. Housekeeping issues, spa not working until almost time of departure, check in staff not accomodating. Otherwise, very nice layout, we enjoy the extra space. We came here lots of times. The breakfast is always consistently good. In my opinion, definitely one of the top hotels in Duluth as far as spacious rooms go. Housekeeping needs improvement- Sofya M

We are staying here while waiting for our house to be remodeled. It's not fancy but adequate. Very small kitchen and living room. Average bedroom and bathroom. Complimentary breakfast. Very friendly staff.

We booked on hotwire and got a decent price. Everything was clean and they had a decent breakfast spread. They had a nice patio area that had some lounge furniture and a couple grills. We were only here for one night so we didn't really use any of that, but it's a newer hotel so everything still feels clean and fresh and modern. Our room had a kitchenette with a full size fridge, two burner stove and a dishwasher, seating area, sleeping area with bathroom attached. It was small but more than enough space for two people. We enjoyed an early breakfast and a dip in the hot tub before we left in the morning. I would stay here again.

On 12-02-22 through 12-05-22 we stayed at this hotel. We had room 214 and when we arrived on 12-02-22 we both noticed a noise coming from bathroom. Now being that we are Marriott platinum elite members it usually gets taken care of quickly. But this time it ran for our whole vacation. We call ed front seat right away and they said “they would get somebody up their to look at it”. Nobody came up Friday night. So we waited still and had to close bathroom door to sleep because it rand 24/7. On Saturday we went down and told ladie about issue at front desk and we also Needed TP, towels and Someone to look at toilet still. So they sent cleaners up to bring us items and look at it. So we came back around 6pm and still running so we asked Sunday morning and they said “maintenance will look at it Monday afternoon” and I was like ok so it can’t be fixed and all the guy said was “something’s broke”. Didn’t get a sorry or apology or anything. For closing bathroom door every night to sleep for both of us sleeping in room. On the plus side they did bring us everything else but was not to impressed with communication and how staff treated us as members or situation was handled Thanks

Loved this hotel! Big spacious rooms with a full kitchen. My partner and I were celebrating his birthday, and we had a good time. The hot tub was nice and hot 🔥

I had a nice stay here. My room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. The full kitchen was nice. The shower had good water pressure and got hot. Staff didn’t read my room preference notes so they put me on a higher floor even though I had a dog, but they quickly fixed that. My only other complaint would be that they don’t maintain the walkways in winter, so the back walkway is icy and back entrance floor is slippery. I told them and they just shrugged it off and said they knew. Other than that, a pretty good stay.

$500 for one night for one room? Absolutely outrageous. Essentially legal theft from consumers. Nothing is “free” like all the other reviews says when you pay $500 a night you bought all of it.

This is by far the best hotel in the Duluth area! Great and friendly service from all. They make me feel right at home.

This hotel has very nice accommodations including an indoor pool and outdoor grills. The service we received from the front desk was excellent.

Marriot considers someone else's bodily parts to be worth $50 in your hotel room cost. $50 discount spending nearly $400 for a room covered with someones body hair and dirty socks. It's hard to describe how filthy this room was. Clumps of black hair in bathroom. Dirty socks from previous occupants. Asked to clean and came back to clumps of black hair still in bathroom. Management was not concerned at all nor did Marriot Corporate help us out. I would avoid this hotel at any cost. "Thank you for contacting Marriott. With regards to your stay at our Residence Inn By Marriott Duluth, they did fulfill the offered $50 discount and they do consider this sufficient service recovery for the challenges faced during your stay and we do agree with their determination."

This hotel has gone down hill, first the put us in the darkest corner of the hotel, there was a light above our door but it didn't work at all. It was hot as hell in the hallway corridor I believe because they were replacing air conditioners but whoever was doing it left items everywhere. The trash near the door looks as if it hadn't been emptied for days which left a horrible smell, and the trash was overflowing near the dumpsters also. Our room had no tissue holders, no stoppers for the tub, the tubs were filthy I cleaned them myself so we could bathe. Housekeeping forgot to turn on the dishwasher so dishes were dirty. There was a hole in the bathroom floor that I stuffed with a towel just in case something came crawling out. The room door didn't have a handle and it didn't lock. The single chair in the living room was filthy, I told my son not to touch it and I sat it in the corner. The room me and my husband stayed in kept getting hot and we had the air turned to on and set at 69. Oh they said breakfast ended at 930, we arrived about 9:15 and there was nothing available except juice and waffles, our fault though. No sheets were provided for the sleeper sofa so I had all my kids bunk together because it was late and we were only staying one night. Please get room 143 together before you book it to someone else.

Service was good and the room was clean. We stayed for one night. The staff were efficient and friendly in checking Us in and out of the hotel. The main reason I gave it three stars is because it was $200 for one night, which is quite expensive for a regular size hotel room. This might be because we stayed during duluth's tourist season, however I think prices could be much more reasonable, about half the price that we paid would have been what I was expecting.
