Absolutely phenomenal!! Food, service and atmosphere all deserve two thumbs up, totally amazing!! After scoping the menu online, I was sold. After experiencing it in person, I know I'll be back! Smoked wings are so flavorful and the Smoked OMC Plate (with the extra pulled pork added) was perfectly shareable by two people! Complementary pork rinds alongside a variety of their signature sauces was such an awesome touch! Easy to stick to a ketogenic lifestyle here, well done!!

Some of the best barbecue I’ve ever had! They start you out with house made pork cracklings so you can try each of their four homemade sauces. Shockingly I loved every single one, even the one with a little bit of horseradish kick. My husband and I split the OMC plate which gave us a taste of chicken brisket and ribs. The beef fat fries were fantastic! Our waitress was super professional and the food came out quick - it’s no wonder people wait more than an hour to come eat here!

We arrived right at 3pm when they open and there was a line out the door by the time we left. I had the Smoked OMC plate and my friend had the super nachos. Both were fantastic. The brisket was a little salty but delicious, the ribs where great, firm enough to hold, dip, eat but the meat easily came off the bone. The chicken was ok, I could have done without it. I got the Mac n cheese and potato salad for sides, both were good but the potato salad I'd get again. Service was good, friendly. They have a disclaimer about the 5% surcharge for kitchen staff and how it's not a gratuity. I'm all for people getting paid, especially fairly. I don't love surcharges... why not just increase food costs 5%? I just don't like so much math with my food...

My wife and I stopped at OMC on a weekend away from the cities because of the glowing reviews. Well let me just say they did not disappoint! The staff was some of the friendliest people I have ever met and very attentive to your needs. The food was out of this world smokey, savory, food coma inducing bliss! (I ordered the platter/combo that came with a bit of all the meats and two sides which I chose Jalapeño grits/Mac and cheese).... I also have to rave about their grits quick as well. They were slap your momma in the face good (please don't) but you get my point... I'll be seeking out a grits heavy meal next time I'm in town they are that good. (I love grits but it is an easy food to mess up and OMC is the best I've had since I was down South in the Virgina/Carolina area.... Oh! I almost forgot... Try all of their sauces as well each one is packed with mouth punching delicious flavor! (Most of all the White Sauce and Carolina)... 10 out 10 I'll be back and suggesting this to anyone that will be in Duluth even for a day.

Good sauces and meats. The fries, coleslaw, Texas toast, are a pass. The big turn off was an extra charge for the cook staff added to the bill along with a service charge for using a credit card. Please just charge what you need to on the menu items. Won't go back.

Stopped here while on my latest trip to Duluth. I was blown away. My brisket sandwich was the best I've had. The brisket was not overly fattey and was gloriously marbled. The flavor was so dang smokey and good. That added fried onion was the $. The mac and cheese was amazing and so much more rich and cheesy than your typical mac. I am a tough critic when it comes to bbq, but this checks all the boxes. Hit this place up next time you're in the area!

We’ll for some fun, let’s get to the most important part first. What on earth does OMC stand for? I didn’t ask here, but I ate at another place later that was owned by the same place, so I finally had to ask. So for those of you wondering, OMC stands for Oink Moo Cluck, to symbolize the popular varieties of animals we like to smoke and eat. On to the establishment, even tho is was later in the evening, it was pretty busy and with a lengthy wait. They did opt to tell us that we could get an order to go, and that there was a place a couple doors down, the Tap Exchange, that allowed you to bring food in and eat there. We were hesitant, but opted to do so. Food didn’t take very long to wait. Staff stayed very busy but were pleasant to us. Place was decorated quite nicely, and everything seemed up to date and as if they took care of things. They had a nice selection of merchandise to buy as well, including sauces and clothes, so there must be some local popularity for it. We took our foot to the Tap Exchange, and sure enough, they were happy to let us eat there. They have tables and you could order drinks right there as well if you’d want. That’s was a whole additional experience that I’ll review as well, but let’s just say if OMC doesn’t have room, don’t hesitate to use the Tap Exchange as your backup place to eat your OMC food. Our food was quite good, and we wouldn’t hesitate to go there again. Only drawback is, we travel all over and also like to try new places to eat all the time, so it’s always a battle between trying something new and going back to something that was really good. OMC will surely see us return at some point.

2 stars due to food. Chicken wings and ribs were way over cooked. When I bit into a rib, the bone crumbled. I've smoked my share of ribs and these were way over done. The wings were very dry as well. At $40 for a rack of ribs, I expect much better. The side of Mexican corn was ok, not great but mediocre. The Now for the good: The server was punctual and polite. The four sauces to try on the pig skin pork rinds were very good. We don't care for pork rinds, so a different option such as corn bread would be nice. The side of blue cheese bacon potato salad was interesting. I enjoy bourbon and rye which the prices were fair, but we didn't have any though. The establishment was clean and fresh which is likely carrying the positive reviews.

Come for the food, but leave with a bottle of one of their amazing sauces. When you dine in, they give you a plate of pork rinds to help you sample their saices. We had a bit of a wait, but they took down our phone number and texted when the table was ready. The drinks were delicious and the food was just as good. The mac and cheese was creamy and definitely worth choosing over the other sides. Can't wait to come back and try more off the menu someday.

The 5% “Kitchen Team Service Charge” and the 3.5% “Service Charge” should be included in the COGS (costs of goods sold), like every other restaurant I’ve been to. The brisket was dry, but the sauces and fries were quite scrumptious. In all, it was $55 for a lunch for two. Not a great value, considering the brisket was a 6/10 at best. (I’m from Minneapolis, where we have higher standards for food.)

We first had dinner at OMC about a year and a half a go, and we had some great ribs. We so looked forward to our second dinner two days a go. Unfortunately, this time the ribs were overcooked, dark in color, dry, and only slightly warm. We made the best of it by adding extra sauce combinations to be able to enjoy eating them. We are glad we had the bacon blue cheese potato salad it was amazing, and our server Cori was great.

This place is amazing!! I got the barbacoa tacos and my boyfriend got the Caribbean smoke sandwich and they were both so good. I usually don’t love smoked meat but it was delicious. We will absolutely be back!!

OMG for OMC. What a super awesome atmosphere with friendly staff. BBQ at its finest, with a great flavor profile. To top it off the story of how it happened in their cook book. Hats off to this gem of a place.

All I can say is the food is is fantastic. Absolutely amazing! If you haven’t been here you are missing out on truly delicious food. The sides are also amazing. I ordered the meat platter with brisket, ribs, and chicken. Everything was so good! The special Korean bbq sauce was amazing. Ask for it!

Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. The pork rinds were a pleasant surprise. The sauces were very inoffensive. Variety with no risk taking. Cream cheese peppers were good. Cranberry sauce was weird but the smoke flavor on the outside of the peppers was a pleasant surprise. Country fried ribs were interesting. Way too much salt on the breading, but despite the double cooking of the ribs...inside the breading they were juicy and tender enough. Claims to be St Louis style. A bit of a stretch but not unimaginable. One of the sauces the waiter called Korean BBQ flavor.... It would be laughed at in Korea. Negative points for phoney fusion flavor. The "Alabama" sauce was probably the best of the sauces but needs a LOT more kick. All the sauces were ok, but very mild. Cole slaw very tasty but a bit dry. Collard greens very average. Overall fine. Better than many, but not 5 stars.

There’s nothing about this place that I dislike. Our service provided by Jaida was nothing less than perfect. Every menu item I’ve tried has been absolutely delicious. The establishment, immaculate. A well deserved 5 out of 5 stars!

We LOVE bbq therefore every time we travel we search for the best around. We have been to about 45 different bbq spots and this was top 5 for sure!!! Food was delicious! Smoked to perfection. The jalapeño brisket bombs are a must! The ribs were fall off the bone good! I got the country fried ribs and was not disappointed. They were lightly fried and flavorful. Our server, Mariah I believe, was a whole vibe. She was confident and led us in a great direction of what to get. The drinks were tasty and we will definitely be back!

It lives up to the hype! The ribs were outstanding. As were the sweet potatoes, cornbread and cocktails. The cute little paintings of livestock in various Duluth locations are comically dark. 😏 Good vibe, friendly and efficient.

Amazing!!! Delicious food! Everything was spectacular! We shared the Korean bbq pork belly sandwich with Mac and cheese and the haystack brisket sandwich with the fries! The cocktails were also very good! Our favorite out of the 3 was the oaxacan old fashioned! Oh and the sauces were awesome too!

Ordered the BBQ plate and pork belly. The pork belly was wrapped in veggies. But it was a little bit hard to eat it. And a bit salty. The chicken in the BBQ was delicious. The ribs and the beef was fine but not impressive. The fried pork skin was delicious. The service was awesome. They would ensure we all knew about their BBQ sauce and provide good service to help us. Overall I recommend it but need to wait for a long time!

First time checking out OMC. I was heading back from the fall colors & North Shore, so I ordered takeout to eat at the Thompson Hill scenic overlook. The restaurant is located in an up-and-coming neighborhood in Duluth on West Superior Street. It’s part of the Lincoln Park Craft District and near Bent Paddle Brewery. With Lake Ave and the Arial Lift Bridge area getting crazy packed this new/old area is a great option for food or drinks off HWY 35. I ordered the half rack of St. Louis ribs ($20), good as I’ve had in Minnesota. Nice bark, seasoning and pulled off the bone with the right tenderness. Loved the variety and taste of their different sauces. I enjoyed the Chipotle Cilantro, Bent Paddle Carolina-style mustard-based sauce and Alabama White, tangy sauce with light horseradish flavor. Went for a side of Mac & Cheese and Coleslaw. Both were good with the ribs. Missed out on the pork rinds, so will have to stop in again. BTW: It was packed on a nice Sunday at noon in mid Oct. So, plan ahead. My food did come out fast after ordering.

Delightful Sauces Sitting down to a platter of crispy fried pork skins accompanied by four exceptional sauces was a novel experience for me. Choosing a favorite proved to be quite the challenge, given how delectable they all were. We opted for the brisket haystack and the classic pulled pork, served with creamy white grits, double cheese, and thinly sliced jalapeños, as well as the blue cheese potato salad. To our delight, they lived up to our expectations. Both the pork and brisket boasted remarkable flavors. It's not every day you find well-prepared grits in the Midwest, so I couldn't resist indulging in them. They were cooked to perfection. Our child savored a side dish of homemade mac & cheese, which he adored. It was so rich that he couldn't finish the entire portion. It's worth noting that they do add on additional charges here, such as a 5% fee for the kitchen staff and a card surcharge. However, the service was exceptional, and we didn't have to wait for a table, even around 3 pm on a holiday weekend. All in all, it proved to be an excellent choice for sampling Midwest BBQ while passing through Duluth.

We had our name down on the waitlist and got a text stating it’ll be about a 30 mins wait but we waited over an hour for a table of 7. It was very cold and windy but luckily they have bonfires setup outside to keep people warm. When we got our table it was split up into 2 tables versus 1 big table so that’s probably why we had to wait the extra 30 mins. The waitress could’ve been nicer but they were super busy so I’m sure why she was a bit moody waiting our table. Food was absolutely amazing except for the ribs were a little too dry for my tasting. Ordered a full rack and we ended up eating half. They do give out s’mores if you ask the front. I would recommend this place to others but would give them a heads up that they don’t take reservations.

Great food and service. About an hour wait on a Saturday night. The omc platter was good. Brisket was the best of the platter in my opinion. The bacon/blue cheese potato salad was very good and refreshing. The hush puppies were actually good, which is a first for me out of the 50+ bbq restaurants I've been to and reviewed. They're very soft and fluffy on the inside but a nice crispy on the outside. The jalapeno bombs were delicious. The catfish & chips was 4 stars out of 5. Was a good portion and the fish tasted fresh, but it wasn't toasted bread that came with it, it was regular bread and wasn't sure if that was correct or not? Seemed different... Drinks were good. The mulled cider was warm and good.

From the cities and friend recommended we try! Was not disappointed, they give you pork rinds to try the sauces. All were good. Got the pork belly lettuce wraps which were amazing!! The only downfall is the maple sauce was liquidy and got all over me Our server was amazing. Can’t wait to come back next time I’m up there!

Yum! My husband and I stopped for lunch. Our server, Tanya, was extremely friendly and helpful. The bbq was great and you have to get the beans as a side. The beans are a meal within itself with so much flavor. Portion are generous. We even got a large order of pork rinds for the road! They rival the pork rinds in Memphis

Very nice place Went for the first time and ordered the house special. The dish was bigger than I expected but I could handle. The waiter was really helpful and gave us many sauce options. Will get back for sure

This Barbecue restaurant impressed me and I even live in the South. Pork and Brisket were juicy and flavorful on their own and all the sauces were tasty. The collard greens, baked beans, and sweet potato were super well done sides. They have the fine details down. The Elderflower Gold Rush cocktail was one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. Great local beverages.

We were traveling back from Voyageurs National Park and was recommended OMC by the local resort. We are traveling from Houston (the couple we were with from Chicago) and intrigued to try some familiar foods so far north. Unfortunately though we thought the food was mediocre ... Granted we ate at 9:30pm, so it may have been the last of the day's lot. For appetizers we ordered the pork belly tacos and hush puppies. The taco toppings were bland (tasted like overcooked pork with shredded cheese and lettuce). The hush puppies weren't dense enough, the dough was too fluffy. My husband ordered the smokehouse plate and all of his meat was very dry. We are from Texas and don't typically put sauce on our barbecue, but this meat was so dry and overly seasoned. We were disappointed ... I was craving soup as we have been camping all week in the 40s. I ordered the gumbo, but it tasted like a very tomato rich chili. Not a true roux at all ... the smoked chicken within was great though. Positives - Our gin drinks were EXCELLENT but the boys old fashioneds were watery and too sweet. The service was super amazing - very fast and attentive ☺️ and the reason I gave this a 3 star instead of 1 star.
