Worst stay in a hotel in the last 5 years. Though the staff were very polite, professional and the locations is amazing, the pictures of the pool are very deceiving, it's much smaller than expected and constantly full and with very loud children. The breakfast was utterly disappointing with coffee the tasted burned and bacon that tasted like cardboard. During the night it was hard to sleep as the elevator door "dinged" so loud it echoed in the rooms like someone was ringing your doorbell. In one night other guests were partying in the hallway talking in loud voices and at some point playing music keeping the floor awake. It took 2 calls at 12am to the front desk so that security would come and at 4am the group came back and started it all over again. I do not recommend staying here.

Overall great location in regards to beach. Rooftop pool is nice but very crowded, hotel breakfast is not worth it poor selection and ridiculously crowded. The rooms are on average “good” but for 5 star expected a lot better, more like 3 star. The service is overall good and room service menu very limited but overall good quality food. The drinks on rooftop bar are dreadful and water down but same as all the windsors in area. Hotel is packed with a lot of kids so do not expect mostly adults.

Excellent hotel! I fell in love with the beautiful, high-end design of the rooms. The the bed was comfortable, the blankets were nice and heavy, breakfast was good. They have plenty of well-trained staff so it was an overall highly enjoyable atmosphere. I will definitely come again.

We arrived during the Rio Carnival so prices were high. Check in was poor and we had to change rooms as our room number was said out loud in earshot of a suspicious person not a hotel guest. We were not issued bracelets then , which is part of their security! The pool at the top is tiny and takes about 6 people! Lifts are very quick. Staff on the main desk were helpful. Room cleaning was quite inconsistent, good to poor. We didn’t eat here. Beach location was very good.

We had a great stay. Hotel was excellent, with excellent location at the beach, clean rooms and good sound insulation. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Buffet in the hotel restaurant was very good quality with ample choice. Beach in Barra de Tijuca is great (water was a bit cold for the time of year), with many not so crowded areas within walking distance. We had a great city tour with Sr Bello from Wintours which can be booked at the hotel. He was extremely helpful, provided great explanations (in Portuguese but we could understand), and took us to some interesting places outside of the official tour.

LUCAS at the front desk is absolutely TERRIBLE! This man has no sense of customer service. I was waiting in line and saw he argued with two other GUESTS and thought the guests were rude. Then it was my turn and turns out he was AWFUL, didn't let us finish speaking and lastly told me that in a 5 star hotel I need to ask for my room to be cleaned!!! This is not a STAY or a motel for me ti be asking for what I pay for. The housekeeping was okay, and the organization was not very good. Don’t come here in high season because you will not the full service you pay for. Lucas was truly awful,

A hotel’s primary purpose is to keep you alive. A bed and water that’s what it takes. If I book a hotel I should rely on that. This hotel charged me extra for drinking water and in my opinion failed its primary purpose. I don’t care any more how good anything else is. I might be to biased, but for me charging your clients for basic drinking water is the worst thing you can do. If I could give 0 Stars I would.

The best hotel I've ever been to! All wonderful! Incredible place, I will be back again.

The hotel does false advertisements of rates and room occupancy. Reception blames adherence to its policies. Hotel management uses the online booking agencies as scape goat. A typical example of companies in the hospitality industry without extensive experience in international tourism. Bad policies and lack of hospitality culture of the management translates into lack of proper training for the staff. Don't stay at the hotel if you expect - as advertised - a five star service.

Amazing hotel. I love the food and service. The location is good for walking and seeing the ocean.

The hotel staff was the best part of our stay, they are all very helpful, polite and friendly 5/5. Breakfast is ok, nothing special. 3/5 The room is very spacious and comfortable, the soundproofing needs to be improved. We kept hearing guests from the room next door doing you know what at midnight and ringing the doorbell starting from 5:30am. 3.8/5

The hotel was nicely appointed, and the staff was friendly and ready to help you with whatever you needed. Bellhop was also kind and held our luggage during check-in and check out. Our room had a nice view of the mountains and the beach. The fitness room was also well kept. Keep in mind that they are not USB-C ports in any of the equipment and had a charger for the iPhone 3 attached to it. Pool was nice, somewhat noisy at times, and very windy. When going to the beach, you need to be very patient and careful crossing the highway as they don't always stop to let you cross. I'd recommend staying here.

Great hotel, right on the beach in Rio. Beach is a 30-second walk from the hotels front door. With traffic - about 1hr 15 min to the airport (GIG). The rooms are well maintained and looked after. Air conditioner, mini fridge, safe, 220V plugs w/USB outlets. Stand-up shower or bathtub in the bathroom, your choice, along with a bidét and toiletries. Daily housekeeping services. Laundry and iron per request. Great restaurant downstairs, serving buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as a la carte. Service in the restaurant is pretty slow, so don't eat here if you are in the rush. The gym is on the top floor but is very small and limited. A cpl of free weights, 3 treadmills, an elliptical, a bike, a leg extension mashine, and a pulldown machine. Very much just for up-keep, not for a serious workout. The pool is on the rooftop, along with a bar, which make for an awesome view of the beach and the ocean. It's a pretty good spot, and I would stay here again in the future.

For a 5-star hotel, the rooms are too basic and the rooftop pool facility is lacking in tearms of appearance. Compared to Other similarly ranked hotels, this hotel does not deserve more than 2 or 3 out of 5 starts. Definitely would not book again.

Simply not a 5* hotel. Everything was fine, but nothing was good/great. Service at reception especially was super slow. Took me 30 mins to check out.

My mom and I really enjoyed our 5 night stay. There was a minor hiccup with the family room doors which can be a little invasive and loud so make sure to know about that ahead of time. The general manager was very accommodating and moved us to a room which did not have a family room door and we were extremely grateful for that. Other than that the location is perfect and the rooftop pool is so nice. Definitely would recommend and will be back the next time we’re in Brazil :)

Barra da Tijuca is around 20 minute cab ride from Ipanema / Copacabana area. When we arrived the traffic was pretty bad (at a standstill) and took us more than an hour from the airport. The upside was that the beach is a little less crowded and felt a lot safer than other areas. For us it looked prettier/ cleaner too. No complaints about the hotel service at all, even received a slice of cake for my birthday! A point for improvement would be to provide more variety for the breakfast buffet. The options were the same for the 5 or 6 days that we were there. Tried room service one night and the burger was tasty. In the surrounding area there weren’t a lot of great dining options, all the restaurants we tried were just okay. We would have loved to use the sauna but it wasn’t working for the duration of our stay.

Great hotel. Staff very pleasant, helpful and professional, most speaking very good English. Comfortable room (though the aircon in mine was not powerful enough and it for stuffy). Breakfast was exquisite. The food served in restaurant and poolside bar was alright but was expecting a bit more based on the overall standard of the hotel (tried pizza and pasta, as these were the main veggie options, and both were pretty disappointing). I’d definitely stay here again but probably try to eat dinner elsewhere!

We loved our stay here at Windsor Marapendi. We appreciated the fact that the tour agency hadn’t made the payment to the hotel - and yet, they treated us nicely, respectfully, letting us check in and helped us to solve the problem. Throughout the weekend, we enjoyed the comfortable rooms, delicious food, pool, sauna, and a great beach service as well. I hope we can come back to stay with them. Top notch lodging!

Very clean hotel in a safe neighborhood. Great variety at breakfast buffet. Clean room/bathroom, comfortable bed and pillows. Pharmacy and Supermarket one block away. Clean and safe beach across the street with beach umbrellas and towels provided by hotel. Nice pool area on 17th floor with food and drinks to purchase and great views.

Great hotel situated in Barra. Walking distance from the beach. The area is safe & easy access to public transport, taxi/buses. The hotel has a rooftop pool with great view of the beach, pity it's small & does get crowded. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. I was treated to a slice of delicious cake on my birthday, thank you.
