During my recent stay at the Windsor Hotel, I realized that various aspects of the experience were deeply unsatisfactory. The lack of soundproofing between my room and the corridors/neighboring rooms made sleeping extremely difficult, which was further worsened by the insulation of the outdated building from the 70s or 80s. To my disappointment, the "partial ocean view" rooms I had booked only provided a view of a parking lot, requiring an almost uncomfortable tilting of the head to catch a glimpse of the ocean. In addition to the inadequate room conditions, there were numerous other significant inconveniences. The hotel emitted a distinct atmosphere of "sex tourism," with strict guest rules and reminders about condom usage. Additionally, the atmosphere was marred by charges for various amenities, such as a $2 fee for a coffee from the in-room machine and an astonishing $50 fee for a missing small towel at the beach. My experience with room service also left much to be desired. The quality of the food, including an inedible salad and soup, left a lot to be desired. Overall, my friend and I left with a deeply unsatisfied impression of our experience at the Windsor Hotel. The combination of inadequate facilities, an unwelcoming atmosphere, and questionable service has clearly deterred us from ever considering another stay at a Windsor Hotel.

I find the hotel overrated for a five star hotel. The rooms, although set up to a high standard, comfortable and well soundproofed, were in dire need of a refresh. Tea and coffee in the room were not free of charge. The rooftop swimming pool is way smaller than expected, which is partially compensated by the views. On the other hand, the gym is probably the smallest one I have ever seen in a five star hotel, with half the equipment at the time out of order at the time. A definite positive of the hotel is the egg station on the breakfast, buffet, of which the spread is also excellent. All in all a decent hotel with excellent lobby staff, in a good location, However, not worthy of a five star price-tag and the rave reviews around. Still good, but only if relatively cheap.

Our stay at this hotel was wonderful. We got served champagne upon our arrival and the front desk staff was so kind. We felt safe during our visit; which was most important for two female travellers. The pool and view on the rooftop was spectacular. The rooms are a bit outdated but worth it for the price we paid. Thank you to the entire team at Miramar, we can’t wait to visit beautiful Brazil again.

I was not impressed by this property at all. It is advertised as 5 star, but charges guest for basic nespresso. The property itself was dated and requires much work. This should not be hard since it is a boutique hotel near the beach. As far as the staff, I was personally treated in a condescending manner and not allowed to have drinks with a friend on the rooftop who was also a guest after I checked out a few day before. They claim it was a safety concern, but my friend met two individuals online and brought them back to her room with no issue. This difference in treatment lets me to believe they unconsciously participate in selective bias. I would not want to return to this property or any Windsor property for that matter.

INCREDIBLE! We stayed for a week - best decision ever. We had a late flight, arriving around 10:30. Greeted by the bellmen, we were warmly welcomed in - can’t say enough about how kind and hospitable the entire staff is - given a complimentary G&T and headed to our beautiful room. The next mornings we woke up to a tasty breakfast (buffet of meats, cheeses, fruits, breads, fresh juices, mimosas 😋, an omelette station, etc.) and headed to Copacabana, immediately across from the Miramar. The hotel offers umbrella/towel/chairs & table service which was a delight. Beds are super comfortable, the rooms nicely block out the noise from the busy area, the curtains are great at blocking out light, housekeeping did a superb job of cleaning the room every night, and their soap/shampoo smells HEAVENLY - which I really appreciate on long trips since I’m not carrying mine with. The rooftop pool is a nice refreshing break from the salty sea, the workout room is relatively small but it allows for a quick vacay workout and included is a sauna and showers. Totally missing it already and can’t wait to return! THANK YOU, Miramar, for giving me the most relaxing week!

This hotel is absolute worthy of more than 5*, from before you walk in you are greeted by the concierge, the boot was opened and the luggage removed. We hired a car from Macaé to Rio after family.. when we arrived outside the hotel, there is limited drop off space but we managed to stop outside the door and my car door opened with a friendly greeting.. I was told they would take the car and park it somewhere safe, just to go into reception and book myself in.. meanwhile the car was being parked in a secure car park opposite the hotel… The reception greeted and welcomed us with a large smile, offered a glass of champagne whilst we went through the checking-in process.. Our luggage ready to be taken to our rooms by the concierge. The food for breakfast is vast, something for everyone, personally I recommend the omelette.. but everything tastes great! (Yes I went through the entire buffet) You will see from the photo’s we had the sea view and were recently engaged so wanted to treat my now fiancé to something special.. This hotel is nothing short of special, beautiful place and wonderful staff.. Highly recommend! Go and enjoy your stay.. We will be back next year..

The service man is just phenomenal. Day one I had no cash so I apologized for not having cash. His and everyone else was we are here to make sure you have a pleasant stay no need for tips. They went above and beyond in everything. The breakfast buffet was a delight with many options

My husband and I were disappointed staying at the Miramar to celebrate our anniversary. We were placed in a tiny shoebox of a room with tiny windows viewing the building next door. This was even though we paid $220 USD/night for 3 nights. The staff offered to send us a nice gift for our anniversary.. they sent us a SINGLE PIECE OF CHOCOLATE (photo attached). For this I would’ve appreciated not sending anything. We will not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Our stay was absolutely great. The hotel might seem a little bit on the older side, but it’s kept in a great condition. However it’s the services that are just amazing. Rooms are comfortable, the rooftop pool is amazing with the best of Copacabana views and the breakfast buffet was unbelievable. The best part of our experience however was the service we received from everyone at the hotel, the waiters, cleaning staff, bellboys and most of all the reception staff. Special shout out to Daniele and Elaine, who made us feel at home from the very first day of our stay.

Top notch service and accomodations. The staff is extremely polite and very helpful. Greeted with champagne 🥂 upon entrance is a wonderful accompaniment. Along with door to door luggage handling. They know the area well and can recommend various types of food and touring experiences. The rooftop bar and pool offer a brilliant way to be at the beach with table side services. The arrival snack was also refreshing.

Great value for the price. Incredibly nice and accommodating stuff. We've got and early check in, which was such a nice gesture after a long and exhausting flight. And we've got a free room upgrade because of my mom's birthday. Spacious, clean room. Amazing rooftop/pool views on Copacabana. Stuff was very helpful, even though there is no spa in the hotel they helped us arrange an appointment at the nearby hotel. Another great thing they exchange money for us to local currency with no fees, so we didn't have to look for a bank. Highly recommend.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel, and we're eager to share our gratitude for the exceptional service we received. Although we can't recall the name of the gentleman who assisted my husband in orchestrating a surprise in our room, our gratitude knows no bounds. The surprise was a delightful touch that enhanced our stay. The cleaning crew deserves commendation for maintaining impeccable standards. Our surroundings were always pristine, contributing to the overall comfort of our stay. Feeling safe and secure during our visit was paramount, and the hotel exceeded our expectations in this regard. The hotel is beautifully located in the centre of the beach. The restaurant offers tasty meals, for Brazil quite a lot of vegetables among them and even a vegatarian will find something to his liking. You can generally communicate with the staff in English and, of course, Portuguese. The big drawback is the standard of the rooms - they are cramped. The water, which is replenished daily by the staff, is charged extra, seemingly a small thing, but it says a lot about the attitude towards guests. Note the lift doors - they have clipped those getting on several times. Outside the hotel - I saw it myself - a chain was ripped from a tourist's neck and a tourist had her phone stolen.

This hotel I recommend if you are planning to stay in Rio De Janeiro. Having spent 9 nights here, I can say without any confidence that this hotel was pure and makes you feel right at home. The staff, upperdeck pool bar, and breakfast buffet went beyond my expectations. I plan on flying back down in the future.

This has been my favorite international hotel stay ever! The hotel is right off the beach, has an amazing view from the pool, and nice rooms. The best part of it all was the wonderful staff. From the doorman to the pool staff. The hotel also provides drivers that made our trip to rio so enjoyable. Thank you Marisa and Roberto!

This is a great hotel across the street from Cococabana Beach. The service and breakfast buffet was excellent. I gave a 4 star because we had a room which had very thin walls and could hear everything in the next room. Otherwise, everything else was great. The rooftop pool area has a great view.

One of the best a hotel experiences I’ve had. I was welcomed with a chill beverage (sparkling wine). The staff was so polite and helpful. The room was beautiful and clean. The food (especially breakfast) was delicious and included champagne. It’s right on the beach with easy access.
