As a local resident of Durango, this is my children’s favorite playground. It’s big and new and nice. I can get pretty busy on the weekend sometimes but usually very manageable. It’s right on the river so you have to keep an eye on the water to make sure the kids don’t get in. It’s OK to dip your toes, but the water can be rapid very cold so beware with young children. Playground is fabulous though highly recommend for kids.

It is a friend and family favorite for birthday parties and other occasions. The Animals River runs next to it and that adds to make it an awesome park.

Visited the playground with my kids during Labor Day weekend. Pretty epic play structure, just wish there was more playground shade. My kids had a blast and also ran through the sprinklers here

Nice park for lots of activities and river access. Cool train engine here too. Also have access to the river walk path from this location.

A Family Favorite!! Awesome Views! Lots of fun for an outdoor spot, whether you're out for a walk, jog, or run... or taking the kiddos or animals out and about! Lots of grass, the river, a trail, a playground, the train statue... lots to view!

I love this park for so many reasons. There’s tons of parking available. Changing room, restrooms, basketball court, volleyball court, huge playground. There are multiple watercraft launch points. The park lies along the Animas River Trail. About a hundred yards or so NW off the parking lot is the whitewater park where you can always find kayakers and river surfers playing. Best rapids for rafting too. Also, there’s a huge field for sports activities. Plenty of picnic areas, and a pavilion. I’d consider this the biggest park in Durango with the most amenities. Fishing & swimming great here too. Always kept clean and nice, huge plus.

Nice park for walking and exercise. Has a basketball court, volleyball area, bike path, nice field area and most importantly public restrooms. In addition you can watch rafters go down the river daily

Beautiful park along the Animas River with a decent playground, volleyball court, a beautiful iris garden, and... NO BATHROOMS! Do not plan on spending an extended amount of time here unless you plan to try and find a private spot in the greenery along the river...
