This is a really great restaurant with the best quality food and high level of service. Wether it is with the family or date night. Cattle Baron is a great place to sit down and enjoy a meal. We especially enjoyed the vegetable sides that come with the meals. Not to mention the prawns. 😉

My daughter and myself treated ourselves to a wonderful time at Cattle Baron once again. Service were excellent. Karen welcomed us at the entrance with a huge smile, and of course Herman's steaks were TOPS. He made me a hot habanero sauce, as I mentioned that I miss a sauce like that on the menu. There simply just aren't a better steak restaurant ever! Thanks Herman for giving us just that.

Living in the Southern Suburbs, one does not often get to Durbanville so I knew I was in for something special when my partner invited me to lunch at Cattle Baron. Now apparently, Cattle Baron Durbanville is not just any old steakhouse. It is the steak house where most business lunches take place and succulent steaks are consumed and downed with delectable glasses of wine. He was right! I enjoyed everything about this restaurant. The service was excellent, the ambience was perfect, as was our view of the water and surrounds. I sipped my chilled Chardonnay as I enjoyed a most delicious baby Kingklip with a Prawn sauce and roast potatoes while my partner ploughed into a huge juicy T-Bone. I could not have asked for more at this superb mid-week lunch.

The service was excellent and the staff are friendly. The decor and seating is really neat, it ģives the feel of an upmarket steakhouse. Our meal was excellent, we ordered steaks but the selection was limited, so for the 1st time in I can't remember the chef came to our table with alternative suggestions - An old school system that makes the dinner feel appreciated well done! There's plenty of free safe parking with easy access. Beware there are stairs. Not an issue. All in all a great experience, thank you.

If I could rate 10 stars I would! I ordered a fillet steak medium with chips and veg. The steak was cooked to absolute perfection! My steak knife glided through the fillet like a hot knife through butter! I have never experienced such an amazing meal. Chef Christo, you rock!

The Cattle Baron has old school class and standards, an upscale restaurant that specializes in melt in your mouth steak and starter that tastes like more. I like the personal touch of the chef (Frikkie) coming to my table to ask if I enjoyed the food. Amy (waitress) is brilliant, has a great sense of humor, fast service and completes the full experience.

We have been customers of this restaurant for more than 20 years. Experiencing ups and downs in service. Tonight was different. A large group came in and that slowed everything down. Waited an hour and 20 minutes for our food without one word from the management. All steaks ordered medium and arrived well done, medium and rare. Did not have the patience to send it back and wait even longer. The waitress made a few comments about lots of people arriving at the same time, but nothing was said about any delays. While leaving, I expressed my disappointment to Gert, the manager, I was told that it is just the way it is. His attitude was that these things happen and that is just the fact of it all. No apology whatsoever. Appalling response from a manager. A visit to the table to apologise for a delay is all it takes. Hiding away and not facing your customer in time of trouble is definitely not the way to do it. Sadly we will not be going back again. If you want good honest service I suggest you go somewhere else.

Had burgers. The beef patties were disappointing because they were not even close to the homemade ones at Sir Loin. So I’m glad I tried them out but I won’t be going back here for burgers. The restaurant looks great, booths everywhere - and a lovely bar area. Saw some specials on draughts. Very nice. Great atmosphere. Might go back to try their pork or beef ribs one day.

How does that work? The food was ok. Ambiance ok. I would rate it ok. The competition in and around Durbanville means I would personally rather choose a different restaurant.

Took my girl for Valentines. Very good service when we booked a table. However, our waiter Shadrack, although very polite, kept on pushing us to place our orders. Only to disappear after starters. His colleague saw our desperation and came to our rescue. When we were finished with our mains we wanted to order coffee but was merely told that the kitchen is closed. We weren't told that the kitchen will be closed for coffee as well.. Good food, bad waiter.

Warm and inviting, staff really great, food was very good, plenty parking, chilled and relaxed, did not feel I was being rushed to leave for the next patrons.

I enjoyed a delicious Christmas lunch with 3 family members! They had the plated option with lamb, chicken, gammon, roast potatoes and veg. I chose the 300g sirloin steak with mushroom sauce and baby potatoes - all so tasty and cooked perfectly according to preference (M - W). Much appreciated! For dessert, 2 of our group chose ice-cream with Bar-One sauce and 2 of us chose the delectable chocolate fondant. We sat at table 16. Our waiter and the other staff were all friendly, courteous and professional. It was my first visit to this Cattle Baron and I would definitely recommend it.

My girlfriend and I went with her friends to get dinner on a Sunday evening, we had a very enjoyable time there. The only issues I really had was the pricing. We got our food for half price as they run a special on Sunday afternoons, but ordinarily the burger would be R150 which is a decent amount of money considering what you get. Same story with the calamari, we would recommend going when it is a Sunday evening or when they run their half price specials. I had a lime milkshake, which was ok not great. She had a coke which was really small 200ml and was rather expensive considering. Burger was good, nice meat patty with a well done egg and bacon. Overall a nice 3.5/5 burger. Fries were meh, nothing exceptional. Calamari was good, similar to any fish and chips place. Also like 3.5/5. Cost is quite high, except during the specials. Service was very good, waiter was very helpful and polite. Environment was also quite nice, calm and relaxed. It was quite empty when we went to be fair.

Online order wrong, with portions much smaller than what you will get in in the restaurant. Easy for the restaurant to do this because you can't complain directly. Will not order from them again.

The best deep fried fillet strips ever. The veg is also absolutely delicious. Durbanville branch is the best Cattle Baron.
