Love the food and I will return for the entertainment. This place has been on my list of places to try for almost a year. I was not disappointed. The ribs were delicious and fell off the bone, well sauced and the options for sides was extensive and delicious.

This bbq spot was delicious overall. Those ribs and mac and cheese was too good. The pork bbq was tasty. I didn’t really care for the okra. The restaurant is cool it gives old school blue vibes. The service was good and the music selection was on point. This is just a spot I stumbled across i’m glad I checked 🤗.

We saw a couple of blues bands here, had dinner, and danced. While the dance floor was cement, it was acceptable since there aren't many places with live music and dancing right now. Our server, Kathy, was excellent and very friendly. The black bean burger and fried pickles with ranch were delicious. We had the buffalo cauliflower hoagie (DELICIOUS!) and The Nosh (celery stuffed with pimento cheese is a local delicacy). Our meal was rounded out with a refreshing Blue Note cocktail. Additionally, we tried a whiskey lemonade and a few local beers. There was one band we heard whose sound was unnecessarily and uncomfortably loud, so you might want to bring earplugs just in case.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere at Blue Note Grill. The people were nice and the energy was high. The music was wonderful. Food was okay, it wasn't anything to ride home about. Pro tip: don't sit too close to the stage, the sound is way too loud.

I like to give honest reviews! This is the most honest I can be. This is the best d*mn BBQ ribs I’ve tasted in a long time!! Fall right off the bone seasoned to perfection good. I can’t tell you about any of the customer service beside the service I received over the phone. It was great experience. I did a pickup order. The amount people waiting to get in blew my mind.

THE BEST BARBEQUE IN DURHAM. Fried okra not only tastes like FRESH OKRA but like my mama’s. Seriously one of the best down home tastes. Pulled pork (!!!!) sandwich on a deliciously toasted and appropriately soft, buttered bun (which for a lot of barbeque places is a missed opportunity), with slaw, as the good lord intended. Good sweet tea. Dill pickle fries DELICIOUS. A+++

Sat outside, there were 6 of us. Service was super quick and friendly. Everything on the menu looked good! I had the catfish po-boy and give it high marks - not as good at Bullock's fried catfish plate but still heck'n good. Give this place a try.

Came during the afternoon just to eat and was not disappointed. Worth a trip just for the BBQ - smoky and delicious. Service was excellent. Will be back one evening to check out the music - and for more BBQ!

I've never eaten in the restaurant. But the bar/performance space is fantastic. Bill has an eclectic taste in live music, and it's always good. The bar is well stocked, and well staffed, and the food they offer is fantastic. Pick a night with some good live music, arrive a little early, order the chips with pimento cheese dip, and the deviled eggs, and your favorite cocktail - you will thank me later.

I hadn't been here since before COVID, but I remembered it being better. The food was alright and our first server walked out. Great bar service though, with a nice selection of beer. The music wasn't quite what we were looking for, but nice to have the option.

The atmosphere is great! It is set up for very good acoustics, and it shows with the live music - speaking of which the performers when I went were just amazing. The bartender was fabulous, and the food was very, very good. I will absolutely be back.

I had the Smoked Pulled Chicken, side order of salad and mac n cheese The chicken was well seasoned and juicy. The smoky flavor was just right and not overpowering. I did try it with the BBQ sauces and it wasn't needed. Its fine by itself. The Mac N Cheese was good. It had a mild creamy cheddar sauce that did the trick. Wished it had more of a kick to it but it was good none the less Smoked Pulled Chicken & Mac N Cheese portions can look small from the first glance but its a lot packed in there Side salad was good. Everything looked and tasted fresh NOTE: The side salad doesn't have nuts in it. However if you do order a main salad, be warned that it does contain nuts. The atmosphere is really chill and give a nice warm family vibe. The people down to the server and waiters were really nice. Also the band that played that night was awesome and got me out my seat dancing. Great experience and will come back again

Stopped in with friends and family. The band was phenomenal. 8-Track Minds. It was so much fun. Service was great, and the intimate seating was perfect for the evening's musical experience.

Make sure to get the ribs. You won't regret it - absolutely fall of the bone tender, with perfect seasoning. Slap some BBQ sauce on there and you're in heaven. Portion sizes are really generous, the half rack is more than enough for a normal human. They also have live music and dancing, what's not to like?!

Quintessential southern style BBQ, ribs and sides. Better or equal to what “Momma” used to make. It’s a hard decision about what to get, but have no fear, you’ll be delighted how glorious it all tastes. No matter how full you get, be sure to order the “shooter” size of hot pecan bread pudding for dessert. The R&B music, live stage performances are superb for an added dining ambience. worth checking out The Blue Note!

Neat place to eat and hear live music. Service was great, not the best bbq I’ve had but it is good. Fun! Downside, parking was VERY hard to find in a Friday evening.

HOLY MOLY! Stopped in here randomly for lunch and boy am I glad we did! The bread pudding is to die for. We got the “shooter” size first and loved it so much we ordered it again to get the full size. My husband and I agreed it’s one of the best desserts we’ve ever had. He joked we would come back to NC just to have this again. We’re on a road trip from MI and this is the best BBQ we’ve had in years. The ribs were falling apart, perfectly delicious! The mac and cheese also deserves a special shout out. 10/10 would recommend this spot!

We came earlier in the afternoon. The food is soooo worth the fact that parking is an issue for the moment due to construction. I'd love to come back when they are doing live music, which apparently is most evenings/ nights! We had brisket tacos, brisket sliders, salad, fries, and pickle fries! Everything we tried was great! Our waitress was really wonderful.

unexpected Saturday afternoon visit before another venue, fast friendly service, perfect combo of shrimp basket and brisket sliders, all that and then some.

The food at the Blue Note is ok but what really attracts the crowds is their live music every night. I go on Tuesdays to dance to blues and swing music and it's always a blast! The drinks are priced well and the vibe is great 👍

We sat outside with our family away from the music. The service was fantastic as was the food. We ordered fried pickles and they were good. I ordered the "Cow Jumped Over the Moon* and it disappeared real quick from my plate. All the sides are great too, especially the mac and cheese.

Very nice place to listen to live music. Super friendly staff and service. Had the sweet potato fries which were deliciously good with a cinnamon butter. The tables near the bar are good for watching because they are at a higher level.
