We didn't end up staying at this hotel. We checked out a fast as we checked in. The place was water damaged and dirty. Mold was present around the electrical plugs. I am asthmatic and started getting sick and having breathing issues shortly after entering the room they assigned us. There were still spots from either soap or someone brushing their teeth on the mirror in the bathroom. The toilet and walls were dirty as well. Nothing was stocked fully in the room and the mini fridge was way past due to be defrosted. I would give it no stars. Just disgusting!

We arrived at 4pm for our reservation (made over a month ago) and were given a room that was dirty and unmade. They wouldn't accommodate our reservation saying that there was a big party coming in and they couldn't reassign rooms. Worst experience we've ever had... including traveling in 3rd world countries. Wallpaper peeling off walls, horrible customer service. We RECOMMEND YOU NOT STAY at this hotel. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!

9/10 recommend! At first I wasn’t sure about this hotel until I got there. And that’s because I’ve had terrible experiences with hotels in the Raleigh/Durham area. As soon as I entered the room I was like “Oh wow, this ain’t bad. Smells and looks good”. I’d say there’s a long desk but who really cares. As long as the room has a nice bed, looks good, bathroom is clean and well maintained, very spacious too. Staff was nice, and were helpful. Complaints; honestly none. I was going to mention the elevator is a lil slow but I didn’t mind it. They have stairs, don’t be lazy. I was just grateful this hotel actually do take care of their rooms. Breakfast is serves from 730am I believe until 10am

My spouse and I ended up leaving not even one hour after we checked in. We found bugs in our rooms and pet feculence as well as pet food in the room. I highly do NOT recommend this hotel . Some staff members will work professionally with their guest, and some will have the attitude of not wanting to work with their poor customer service.

I stayed at this location for two weeks while I was in town for work. I chose this as it was close to where I needed to work, decently priced and was pet friendly. These are about the only positives that I can point out from my stay. This hotel is advertised to have a free continental breakfast everyday. The breakfast was lackluster to say the least. Your choices were pastries, waffles and cereal (hot or cold). The options within those weren't that great either. I spent most of my time there eating it and then going to the Starbucks down the road for coffee and a breakfast that I knew I enjoyed. As for the hotel itself, it definitely needs some TLC. The building looks old and sad. There was always trash overflowing in the hall trash cans as you make your way to the exits. I was placed in a room when I checked in that did not lock from the outside and could be pushed open no problem. I brought this to the attention of the front desk and luckily they were able to put me in another room that properly closed but this needs to be looked into. The hotel itself after normal working hours was quite sketchy, especially as a female staying by myself. The room itself was basic. I did happen to kill multiple bugs in my room during my stay, confirming to me that pest control is not a concern at this location. The pillows at the hotel were average as best, I asked for extra and the only way they could give me more was to take them from a room that wasn't being stayed in. Seems odd that a hotel doesn't keep extras as this is not an uncommon request. They have signs saying that the hotel is smoke free but they allow people to smoke right at the front entrance and outside near the pool. The AC unit in my room was very confusing to use, they had a thermostat on the wall that ready a temperature and then one on the unit itself that said something different. I obviously didn't even mess with it as I didn't want to cause it to not work. All in all, I was not happy with my stay and could not wait to leave to go home.

The room smelled mildewy in the bathroom, the shower curtain had mildew spots. The tub had mildew/mold growing in the grout. The air conditioner did not seem to be working properly. The people at the desk were great. The person at the desk when checking out was also pulling breakfast trash and refilling breakfast Items. They needed help. The were also 2 small bugs/roaches in our room.

I stayed at this location from 8/26/22 - 8/28/22 for a funeral. Around 3am on 8/27 someone tried to enter my room. Apparently, the front desk made this stranger a key. This person attempted to enter the room five times...no exaggeration. I called the front desk as the man and woman outside of the door was cursing and trying to break the door down. The guy who answered the phone stated I didn't suppose to be in the room. Supposedly, I was NO SHOW according to the front desk. How is this possible when my I physically checked in, key made, and my credit card was swiped? So, I physically went to the front desk after the individuals returned to room 402 around 7am. They kicked the door so hard until the latch loosened from the door (took a picture of it). The guy at the front desk was dismissive and stated housekeeping stated the room was empty. Clearly, housekeeping lied and never came to my room. It seems like some type of scam was going on with the staff and whoever the people were trying to enter my room. The GM stated he was going to make it right and provide a refund due to the inconvenience. As of today, there's no refund. I contacted corporate on 8/28/22 and still haven't heard from anyone. Beware of this location!!!

Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The phrase "smells like cheap perfume" doesn't begin to describe the smell. Except the bathroom which smelled faintly like something burning. The toilet seat was loose and this was in an accessible room! Can you imagine trying to transfer from a wheelchair to that? Every surface was sticky. There were no hangers in the closet.

The Front Desk Staff was amazing and kind and always made sure to accommodate when they could. It was the rooms however, that made the stay unsatisfactory. The first room I was in smelled like fish, only had 2 pillows for a king bed, no garbage cans, and a broken TV. When I discovered the TV and garbage can issue I was quickly moved to another room, but this room I quickly discovered had issues too! The soap holder was held up in the bathtub with masking tape, there was no plug for the bathrub to take a bath, the ac on the wall was broken so I had to crawl under the desk to get to the actual unit, the actual unit broke and i had ro ask for maintenance to come 2x to fix it, the blinds were broken, and again the TV turned on but was unable to change channels. Since I already moved one room I didn't want to change rooms again. Especially because I was traveling with animals. Also the breakfast was only available til 8am on weekdays, which is really early. But I'm so disappointed I used my free night for a hotel that was less than satisfactory.

Ok, so we stayed here 5 years ago, and it has changed an awful lot. First of all, the rooms were clean, but the air-conditioner filter was filthy. The shower had good pressure but stopped up and took 45 + minutes to go down. The bathroom door was like a closet door. No lock. We did call maintenance to unclog the tub. The toiled had so much suction that I thought I would be sucked down. They gave a lot of towels, which was good, but only gave 1 roll of toilet paper for 4 people. (Can we say cheep) The stopper in the sink came apart for no good reason. (dont think it was attached to anything). There was no refrigerator or microwave in the room. The beds were so small, even for 2 people. Thought I was going to roll right off. The room rugs were a little gross, and the stairwell carpet smelled and was disgusting. The ice machine was in the same room as the laundry room. It was so darn hot in there that it felt like a sauna. The laundry can take coins or you can pay with Google or Apple pay. The hotel does serve hot breakfast. Parking was ok but at times very crowded. Don't think I would be staying here again.

I booked this hotel based off the most recent reviews being decent. I called to see if I could check in early and the man on the phone looked up my name and said yes, your room is already ready but if you come before 11am it is a $25 fee. I told him I won’t be there till after 11. He did tell me there is a $25 dog fee. That is fine. When I checked in at the front desk at 11:30am the attendant (sherae) was extremely rude!! She said there would be a fee since it’s before 2pm. I let her know that I already spoke with someone and he said that was only before 11am. She said that was not true but she would grant it this time. She had a horrible attitude, never once smiled or acted polite in anyway. After that we unloaded and went up to our room on the 2nd floor. The elevator was filthy, the hallways were dirty and there was trash and dirt everywhere. The key card took 6 tries before it would work and the door handle felt so loose it could fall off. The room had not been swept or mopped. There was old dog food on the floor by the door and there was a lot of water damage by the shower and window. The housekeepers were blasting music, there were people in the parking lot blasting music and dancing. A lot of trash outside. I wouldn’t recommend this place for families with children.

Nice, clean, good location, comfortable rooms. Breakfast could use more hot items beside waffle and eggs, but a touch above continental.. Recommend it overall. I guess it depends on which room you end up in, we were in 212. It was clean. People were smoking weed beside us in their room, but we were too tired to care. Stayed 2 nights for university tours.

Everything about this place is gross. The smell in the hallways. Also the room smelled of urine. There is no ventilation in the room and bathrooms. The tub clogs while showering and takes forever to drain. The first room we were assigned had a broken lock, lights and tv did not work. Second room had all of those things fixed but the smell of urine was still present. The cherry on top was the roach that came out first thing in the morning and asked if wanted early checkout. If you have children, asthma, or have an ounce of cleanliness in your bones do NOT stay here. 10 out of 10 DO NOT recommend.

Room was good. Guy named Shawn, the front desk receptionist, was really rude. Literally yelled at my mom for getting a cup for coffee (they were out). Threatened to not check us in after we fully paid for four rooms because we asked him if yelling was really necessary.

So to start off don't stay here ,the only decent thing about this place is the free breakfast. Some of the staff is nice but most will fight you over toilet paper , you legit get more in jail which is pathetic . *🪳 cockroaches without a doubt but you get what you pay for I guess , personally I'd rather just stay in my car 🚗.

Run! Don't walk away. Zero stars, negative stars. Don't think 'oh it's cheap,' don't think 'oh it's just one night,' don't think it's okay. This place is disgusting and honestly needs to shut down be gutted and start over. Wyndham should be ashamed they are running a hotel like this. First not only are you met by no one because staff is never at the front desk but you're also meet with the strongest smell of body oder I've ever witnessed. Everything is dirty, pee stains on pillows and mattress, black mold, mold in the AC, dirty vents and pet stains on the carpet. Not only is it dirty but also dangerous. Cops are there most of the night dealing with something, people sleeping in their cars in the parking lot, and people moving in! Literally bringing junk into the hotel. I stayed here one night, I'm sick to my stomach just thinking about it. DO NOT eat anything from the breakfast unless you like dust and rodent droppings on your food. Oh yeah they also don't do daily housekeeping because of covid. I'm sorry? This isn't 2021. If you want new towels you bring them to the front desk and think of how gross a bed could get before being changed or made. DO NOT STAY HERE.

The 4 stars in this review is only to the front desk manager, the rest in the hotel it's not worth the money. Definitely they should close the place first day roaches all over the place, mildew on bathroom ceiling. I couldn't sleep one night with roaches on my bed. I had to find another hotel in the morning. Don't ever go there, what a regret.

We got a room with two double beds and it's ok. The beds have clean sheets even though they aren't very comfy. It isn't the newest decor wise either which doesn't bother me. What does bother me is the stains on the ceiling, in the tub, and the hair we kept finding in the bathroom. It's fine for a night's stay i guess, but I didn't really even feel comfortable enough to shower. The customer service was nice enough. But I'll choose somewhere else next time.

I checked into the LaQuinta Inn off Hwy 55 in Durham NC and upon entry into my room I began seeing roaches. One was crawling up the wall, on the desk, dead inside the mini refrigerator, and killed on the closet door. I immediately removed my belongings and checked back out within 20 minutes. I was utterly disgusted and will never stay at a LaQuinta property again. Although the staff was very cordial and understanding having that experience was unacceptable. I hope they close down this facility so this won't happen to anyone else. No should ever have to deal with this type of uncleanliness in a hotel. I had to click a star in order to make this post but truthfully I give this location zero stars.

Walking in, the man at the front desk acted like he didn’t want to wait on us and wasn’t friendly or welcoming. Also, there was a musty odor throughout the hotel. We asked for a trolley and he said that there was any. We went to our room and the door was already open. When walking into our room we were greeted by a toy frog, used toilet paper, lights that didn’t work, and hair on the sheets. After that we went to every floor looking for a trolley and there wasn’t any so we lunged our bags in. After that we browsed the lobby store, and there was nothing but bottled water and packs of tuna. We had to leave the hotel to get drinks and snacks. When we returned we went to every floor that had an ice machine and none of them worked. After that we took a shower to realize our towels were covered in hair. This experience ruined our hopes to every stay at a LaQuinta Inn.

I requested an accessible room as my husband was having surgery that day. Upon arrival we were put in a room on the 3rd floor. The chair arm pad was missing leaving a metal plate with sharp corners. The thermostat on the wall instructed controls were on the wall unit which is completely covered by a counter. I called the front desk regarding these issues and was told we would be brought a new chair. When she arrived and saw the place of the a/c heat unit she chose to move us to a different room on the 6th floor. This room had the same issue with the a/c heat unit. After traveling since 6am that morning and spending the day in the hospital I chose to deal with it. Then I tried to turn the bedside lamps on and found them both unplugged. Again I had to get on my hands and knees to plug them in under the bedside tables. In the morning as we reached the elevator I noticed the sign "IN CASE OF FIRE USE THE STAIRS" This didn't even dawn on me the night before being more concerned in getting my husband to a room for the night. What would we or any other handicapped person who couldn't walk stairs have done?? At check out I mentioned all to the assistant manager who said the hotel was 20 yrs old and noted my chart. Never thought I would have had issues like these at a La Quinta as had stayed at a number of them before

CONS: a mouse ran across the floor and freaked us the F out, smashed a couple bugs, cigarette smoke smell in rooms, floors were dirty/stained, general cleanliness 3 out of 10 PROS: nice front desk staff, newer shower in 2nd room, provide shampoo & bar soap, clean sheets in both rooms We were moved to a different room after the mouse incident and they were nice about it but didn’t appear surprised. Both rooms smelled strongly like cigarettes. If you’re sensitive to this smell it will definitely be strong for you. If it wasn’t for the mouse I wouldn’t leave a review but thought this was unusual enough to mention.

As soon as we walked in, everything looked clean and well presented. We set up and unpack. Beds felt clean and nice. Up until we took a shower. I'm not sure if something was clogged, but we didn't have an issue since it was draining fast. Then, after a few days, it got slower n slower. Up until our last night, it just stopped draining, period. In the picture, you'll see dirt build up. We work nights, and that's from it not draining. The toilets are mentioned for like children. The mini fridge, the small compartmwnt for the freezer, had too much ice. And the worst of all was the double doors for the restroom. No lock, it was loosens, and if you had kids, the ho in n out. We had issues of neighbors smoking too much weed. Overall, breakfast was great. N the stay was still enjoyable.

The room smelled like an old folks home. The decor is outdated and dirty. The cancelation policy was unacceptable and the accommodations were gross.

I booked a room here because I live 45 minutes away and didn't feel like driving home and plus it's around the corner from my job. I like the secluded location with the main hwy in reach with many eateries, stores and mall close by. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I'll definitely stay here again if I have to.

This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Customer service was acceptable. Me and some friends where visiting from out of town. We checked in the hotel and once we got to our hallway we noticed a strong odor of weed. We got to our room and there was an excessive amount of hair everywhere, stains all over the covers, sheets and floors. A ring around the bath tub. When we brought up our complaints they quickly and nicely switched our rooms but the second room was even worse. We stayed in the hotel about 30 minutes and checked out.

I’d highly recommend staying here. We had to book last minute and the highlight of my stay was the remarkable kindness and the willingness to go the extra mile truly made me feel valued as a guest. They consistently went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. They’re pet friendly and the staff was accommodating and so welcoming towards my fur baby. The exceptional customer service, clean and spacious rooms, delicious breakfast, and convenient location makes this a great place to stay.

Quick and easy check in and out! Location wonderful. The room was a bit dated (lamp shades and pillows need upgrading). They have the tiniest toilet 🚽. Customer service representatives were wonderful!

Staff were very nice and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable bed. I do not like that La Quinta puts a $50 charge on your credit card in case you buy food or drinks. The credit is refunded but its takes up to a week to show on your credit card account. Other hotels I stay at do not do this. I prefer to stay somewhere that does not add this charge to keep up with.

Decent stay. Got a king room on the 4th floor, which was likely the quietest floor in the entire hotel. Lot of guests seemed to roam around the hotel in the evening, gathering in the lobby or the parking lot late at night. It as a weekend though. Room key did not want to work at all, had to go get them reset 3 separate times. Bed was comfy. Carpet floors were great, however, had 2 large stains on them. Bathroom was acceptable.

Rooms are terrible. Thankfully we were only here overnight in order to get a family member to the airport at 4AM. It’s bad even for that short of a trip. Won’t return. I’m surprised that this is a La Quinta/Wyndham because we have stayed at these hotels all around the country because of their consistent quality and value. This does not live up to that in any way. Beds - uncomfortable. Bathrooms - dirty. Roaches & weed smoke in the elevator. Can hear other customers in the halls and in their rooms. The person who was sleeping in their car in the parking lot had the right idea.

  • 3/5 Gavin H. 1 year ago on Google
speaking to my experience - staff was friendly, room was comfortable and clean, price was great and pet friendly. small, but decent breakfast to get you going in the morning. easy check-in, easy check-out. property overall could use a little extra care here and there.

The staff was very nice and professional. The rooms were awful. My husband and I we're very unhappy. We were booked for 2 nights. When we first arrived and were given our key card to our room, the people arcoss from us had a large barking dog, my husband went and asked for another room. Our first room had dirty carpet, the television didn't work and there was some mold on the walls. Our second room had a beautiful view of trees that were colorful and lovely. The room had a large amount of black mold on the ceiling, the walls were dirty, the carpet was dirty and stained. The cleanest thing in the room was the bathroom. My husband and I checked out the next morning. The woman behind the desk was very nice in refunding our money for our second night. I'm sorry that we didn't have a pleasant stay. I gave a 3 star rating because the staff was so nice.

  • 3/5 Heidi W. 1 year ago on Google
Very convenient location and nice staff. Clean for the most part. However they need heavier blankets and more pillows. The blanket was barely thicker than the sheet and the 2 pillows per bed were small. The room appeared clean but had a musty smell.
