đź‘Ť A nice little museum with a very nice reception upon entry. The friendly lady at the checkout gave us a lot of interesting information, as unfortunately there was no tour taking place at that time. But we will certainly come back. Thank you! A real Krefeld gem. Still relatively unknown, although it has been around for a long time. Even though it is the only one of its kind. Only here can you experience an original weaving room in operation at the original location. In addition to special exhibitions, you can trace the path from the silkworm to the finished fabric in this small museum near the train station (5 minutes on foot). The museum shop stocks exclusive products related to silk culture. If desired, the museum team can also organize your company party, birthday or other events. And even with catering.

Nice little museum. I recommend a guided tour, only then can you really immerse yourself in the history of the house and the weaving mill. We were lucky that a group had registered during our visit this afternoon and we were able to join for €4 per person - it was really worth the money. It's crazy how much work weaving used to be! Everything was explained very well and a short film was shown before we were able to look at the old looms and were shown the technology of the looms and the work on them by a weaver again on site. A lot of new knowledge was acquired about our “city of velvet and silk”. Oh yes - there is also the smallest functioning loom there, registered in the Guinness Book of Records! 🙂 Currently (until November) there is an exhibition on bead embroidery on the ground floor.

(Translated by Google) Particularly noteworthy is the Jacquard handwebsaal. Here, the old textile craft is shown very well on eight wooden looms from the 19th century. Noteworthy are the many events such as workshops and special exhibitions. A guided tour with a specialist in the field of weaving is, however, the culmination of a visit.

A beautiful little museum, with a very informative tour after registration, although you can also walk through the rooms on your own, but it's not that nice.

Today my fairy and I were guests. It was more than a visit to a museum. We were warmly welcomed and fully informed. The digital tour via tablet rounds off well. As people from Krefeld, we got a different kind of insight into our hometown. The atmosphere of the house, the looms and the floors and the smell of old times... When I closed my eyes I could literally hear the old days. Impressive. I would love to come around with my fairy again. Maybe for a drink and or to go shopping. The selection of silk textiles is great. And it doesn't always have to be soap or juniper or brown bread as a souvenir from Krefeld. Thank you for the lovely afternoon and your friendly welcome. Sunny

Rommelige ontvangst.

🫤 Very disappointing as I live in Krefeld and try to show my visiting family from England a great museum. Only one floor was open , but they still charged the full entrance fee. All bags had to be locked away even though there was nothing exhibited that possibly could have fitted into any of them. Ex...
