I would give zero stars if I could! No organization whatsoever, it was complete anarchy. We were supposed to fly out and waited hours in a line that never moved. We ended up leaving and flying out of Amsterdam. If you need to depart from this airport, good luck, you're going to need it.

A manageable and modern airport. Relatively clean, there is still room for improvement when it comes to toilets. WiFi works quite well. There are plenty of benches and a large selection of shops and restaurants.

I recently traveled through Düsseldorf Airport and, overall, the facilities were well-maintained. However, the processing speed at security was notably slow, causing some stress as I nearly missed my flight. Despite this hiccup, the staff remained professional, and the airport's amenities were satisfactory. I appreciate the cleanliness and organization, but hope they can improve processing efficiency for a smoother travel experience in the future.

Poorly organized: Post-Covid travel chaos. Departure queues for evening checkin (no priority for business class given) and chaotic situating at late evening arrival on Saturday, packed area at baggage claim as NO bags have been delivered. First announcement after 15 minutes that delay occurs due to staffing shortage. Another announcement every 15 minutes, same content. Waited for 3.5hours after the plane touched ground and got the bags at 2am - most had left empty handed to return next day. Disappointing ... Updated to add pictures how it looks a week later, similar instance, bags piling up everywhere and available to everybody passing by from any flight ...

Dusseldorf international airport is a very convenient and beautiful place. Passport and other transactions are done very quickly and well. The staff is very nice and makes practical solutions. It has become one of my favorite airports. I wish everyone a nice flight. Two years later I'm back at Dusseldorf airport. I found this place to be dirty and chaotic when crowded.. Toilets were inadequate and staff were rude.

Our recent flight from Düsseldorf to Keflavik was extremely satisfactory. The organization was exemplary and the security check went smoothly and efficiently.

Everything went smoothly on the second visit too. The DUS with its three gates (A-B-C) has good transport connections. Whether by train, car or racing bike, it is easily accessible. Wifi is stable in the building, there are enough seating areas and shops. I can't say anything about the friendliness of the staff because everything is well signposted and I didn't need any help. Hygiene in the toilets was good (early in the morning). A drawback compared to other airports. In all waiting areas, whether in the entrance hall or after the security check, etc., there are no options for charging mobile devices.

Well connected airport, with its own train station. Also you can easily travel between terminals using SkyTrain. If you have a flight with departure from this airport, be there EARLY. Arriving 2 hours before my flight at the airport made me almost lose it, because of the long security check queue. Stayed in the line for more than one and a half hour. At Terminal C there were only two lanes for security, which is unacceptable.

Very good Air Port. The travellers using the train to Dusseldorf airport station.. . from the railway station .there is a skytrain. very easy to travel to the departure point ....Enjoy the travel .👍👍👌. I liked the trip. I went to Dusseldorf airport travelling to Ireland Dublin. Returned to Essen by this way. Nice trip.

This is a greatly designed airport, one of the best in Germany. It is very efficient and modern. The terminals are all easy to reach, you have a variety of shopping options, eateries and cafes. What I dislike is the SkyTrain connection between the railway station and the airport - overcrowded and while it moves every other minute, it would have been nice those two are better connected as one loses another 15-20 min. to check-in!

Dusseldorf international Airport The ticketing and check in counters are quite spacious but the sitting area and shopping area is very less. Food court counters are very limited.

I like this airport because it's big and you can find everything. Also, staff reacts quickly despite the crowd. However, parking has been quite challenging during the summer period as we prepaid for parking it took us more than 30 min. to find a free spot in July and August. It would save us tons of time if fhere were signs showing the available free spots beforehand. Try to put your liquids into plastic bags beforehand, and remove all the electronics as requested. Otherwise you loose lots of time as well.

Always friendly staff. If they solved the P3 parking problem it would be a very good airport. They arbitrarily close the P3 parking spaces even though the lower floor is empty.

Worst airport ever. Make sure to be 5 hrs in advance prior your flight. Baggage check in queue: 2 hours Security control queue: 1 hour Only 1 opened Restaurant at the gate, queue: 1 hour Toilets: a complete cleaning disaster, you’ll barely hold your vomit from the odors In general hygiene and cleaning problems all over this third world airport

The airport is very big, no question...and that not everything can run smoothly. But the new suitcase task is bad. And the people control is also bad, just checks. And then the bad air at the Geat in the waiting area Zohne phew... but the flight with the Eurowings was very nice.

It’s a bit confusing trying to get to the train station from this airport, different staff told me different things. Eventually took Sky train to train station and I had bought all trains tickets from DB Navigator app prior to leaving the UK, so I knew I had the necessary tickets from Düsseldorf to Bonn. On my return I arrived 5 hours early because of the train strike last week, I didn’t want to risk it. Eurowings let me check in early which was great. Duty free small, limited choices of food, not enough seating areas for busy airport. Immigration control ok. I wish people would pay for their luggages in advance, rather than trying their luck and slowing down everyone when they had to pay for their cabin bags before boarding the plane.

+ Decent facilities + Excellent connectivity with the Bahnof Düsseldorf Flughafen - Little to no sockets near the chairs at the gates (some people were using the ones for the vending machines near the walls); There were some sockets in some odd places (see pictures) - Slow and painful security check

On June 19 2022 I flew from DUS to Turkey end of noon. Was afraid for chaos due to many given comments, but everything worked out fine due to a normal amount of passengers. Only 20min waiting to check in luggage, a hardly populated Gate C security was max 15min. Friendly staff with a smile so 5 stars for the experience. So: there is still a possibility to go on your journey in a relaxed way in these times but no one can predict how crowded it will be. Returnflight on 30th of june early morning and had to wait 30min for luggage. Bit longer than normal but not problematic at all. Cheers!

I had a poor experience. I have used this airport hundreds of times and have never had a negative experience until today. I had to catch a 7.20 a.m. flight; the departure time was 07:20. In order to reach at the airport by 6:20 a.m., I departed the hotel at 5:55 a.m. I arrived on schedule, at 06:10, giving me sufficient time to relax in a lounge. I left the hotel early in the morning, so I did not eat breakfast there; instead, I planned to eat at the airport. After completing check-in, I headed towards the security entrance. Oh, there was a lengthy line. Approximately one hundred people were waiting to pass through the gates with scanners. I had access to the priority lane, where approximately five people formed a short line. One woman from this airport was speaking out to the folks in line. She spoke only in German. I was unable to comprehend the lingo. Many individuals began to go. When I inspected the gates, all of them had a large "X" on the screen. I assumed they had closed these gates. But I wanted to be certain, as well as understand what it was about and where I should go next. I approached the woman making the statement to the audience and questioned her. She began speaking to me in German despite my English request, and then simply stated, "The gate is closed." Of course there were others who interrupted me and asked her questions in German, and of course she glanced at German speakers quickly and spoke a great deal of words that seemed like a great deal of information, which I did not understand. Finally, I realized that I needed to travel to the area B security area. I was in area A because my departure gate was located there. I began heading towards location B. At that time, the long line was nearly gone. I suppose everyone has already relocated to B. There were not as many people there. I passed through security, got in, and then had to walk to the A section. It was already 06:42 when I arrived at the boarding gate, eight minutes before the scheduled boarding time. I have no time to visit the lounge. Okay, let's let me starve. I mean, large crowds can occur. However, it would be wonderful to receive a proper explanation and attitude when this occurs, which they did not supply. If the woman had also spoken in English while addressing the throng, I would have been able to comprehend earlier and be at the entrance sooner. If she had given the reason, it would have been easier for me to accept the circumstance. Instead, I received only the single word "closed" and was ignored thereafter. An awful encounter at a purported international airport. Parking personnel are quite disrespectful. They do not speak English and are visibly irritated by anyone who do not speak German. I pre-paid for parking and received confirmation, only to be required to pay again upon my return because the ticket stub was tampered with. Instructions on the machine are only available in German. There is no response to the assistance button on the exit bar. Backing up and causing a traffic bottleneck. There was no parking attendant on duty, and when one finally appeared (it was barely 6pm on a weekday), they could not understand English and did not care to verify that my reservation was pre-paid or issue me a new ticket. Was essentially instructed in sign language to either pay again or remain there in a disrespectful manner. I paid more money to leave. A week after sending an email requesting a refund and including all supporting evidence, I received an automated answer email stating me that they are still working on the matter. Not only are the personnel at Düsseldorf Airport completely ignorant of passenger experience, but so are their automated email response bots. All of this transpired during a Covid-19 travel hour with notably little traffic. Can you image when traffic returns to normal levels? Avoid at all costs unless there is no other alternative.

It’s just a beautiful airport with a big space in there! I have flown to this airport many times and it is the 3rd. biggest airport in Germany. If you want to know what’s the biggest airport in Germany, it’s the Airport in Frankfurt. But now to this airport again. The Arrival is VERY big and I like it.

A middled sized airport with limited personnel and shopping options. After COVID 19 this airport has worsened significantly. Restrooms are often dirty and the waiting lines for the security check are beyond reasonable. It basically lacks personnel almost everywhere

A smaller airport (in relation to Frankfurt and Berlin), simple, clear and easy operating your path from check in, going through security and boarding. Nothing special, nowadays traditional walking through shopping stores finding your gate. Early in the morning, early flights, expect very long lines for coffee, water, anything. For a 6 am flight the gate area after security were packed.

in general, it is a nice small airport where most of employees are helpful and polite... BUT... Horrific impression from a security check personnel at the airport - very arrogant with no manners or ability to communicate. I was staying with a child for 10 minutes trying to find somebody we can approach in order to pass our security check, but they were only gesticulating us to go further ... We were going rounds from beginning to the end and then back like about 10 times (despite the airport being pretty much empty)...then finally I looked at some guy asking "can we proceed?" and he with all annoyance on his face said something like why do you think i am staying here ... So yeah, i mean i really don't need your attitude, just check my bag and let me go...

Total chaos! 3 hours to get through security and missed my flight along with dozens of other passangers. Staff very very rude and unhelpful with one member even shouting in my face!! Whilst Queing for the 3 hours, I mentioned that my flight was at 7am to 2 different members of staff (service & security) but they just shrugged their shoulders. After my flight had departed, i asked another member of staff where we go and she shouted in my face!! Totally unacceptable. Now there are people everywhere laying on floors sitting on the steps. Tables and chairs in any area are like gold dust. People are running everywhere like from a zombie movie because theyve been queing through security like me for hours and are now rushing to get their plane. Everywhere is dirty, the dust gathered on the floors is unreal and the toilets are disgusting.

Dusseldorf Airport is very light and airy. It is simple and and from the most far point to the other you will have walk maximum of 20 minutes. Especially the work space (paid) is such a relief. You may sit down and edit your footage or spreadsheets. Don’t forget the ride on the sky train. It is free and a fantastic experience.

The airport is huge and some of the facilities are a bit old. Nevertheless, I like flying from Düsseldorf because the airport is run very professionally, the toilets are clean and the selection of food, although hopelessly overpriced as is usually the case at airports, is large and varied.

I'm retired now, but used to fly in and out to go home, then back for work and i just love the airport, security in and out was ok, no problems when upgrading in the early 2000, now the bar's/restaurants/shops are looking good, (W.H.Smith) for English papers and im sure Jamie Oliver had a wagon there, no problem with language and skytrain to train station was easy, it's clean, modern attractive terminal, information easy to follow, the parking was no trouble when i had to use it either, on the whole a great airport and im missing using it 😥

Wow what a big airport. All in one: it’s a good organized airport with friendly staff and a good overview for all passengers. The airport offers plenty of shops and restaurants and looks also very clean. Big plus point is the closeness to the city (I needed 15 min by Uber and 21min by train to the city center). It’s unfortunately not my favorite airport, but has a place in my top 5 in Europe:) keep the good staff - super helpful:)

A big airport from the main entrance it throws you directly to the A section for the Gates but you can go to the other sections if there is a lot of queue but you have to walk longer if you don't mind it. The last confused part is the Gates for entring and exiting from your flight is the same and you need to find an exit from the duty free shops.

(Translated by Google) Top airport. With long-distance flights, the suitcase issue takes a long time, annoying. We waited 1 hour for our suitcase after our Thailand (February 2019) return flight. Bad organization or lack of staff! Especially in the Corona period, it would make sense to hire additional staff at the airport to do a Covid test control. We already did this in Spain (Gran Canaria) 24 hours before our return trip, on arrival at the airport, but nobody was interested.

First time was entering Germany. Asap left plane police wanted to see anreiseanmeldung after that it was 10 mins walk in corridors, stairs up and down left and right. Till i reached the immi counter. I had a fresh passport with 100 pages and only one visa. The officer (mann) was searching and didnt find it so asked for my resident card i said i am on visa so again he searched... asap he found visa HIDDEN in so many pages he said, " yesss found it" with a quirky smile. Supre refreshing attitude. Otherwise most immi officers are likeas if spanked by their deptt before letting them on seat. BUT no this guy was super happy and gave me a very warm feeling. Airport is very large. Clean and yet busy. The baggage was right at the exit door. Super convienient for traveller. Perfect and one of best experiences on any international airport

My father couldn't go to the bathroom. That doesn't work at all 😞😞😞 Then my parents were through the control and my 87 year old sick father in a wheelchair was so massively searched and trampled by the control staff. Just like any other airport. Clean toilets, friendly staff and extremely quick procedures (e.g check in). My flight was delayed today and so was another flight to Turkey. Overall very nicely built airport but not many switches -to charge devices- some of the switches connected to the chairs do not work.

The queue for checking Covid papers/qr-codes is insanely long! If you can't arrange a proper check - do not check at all, instead of holding people from several airplanes in a narrow hall. Very higenic, what to say

  • 3/5 Fawzi M. 2 years ago on Google
The airport was kinda small and straightforward. 1- When you arrive, there is a long hallway that had securities for checking your Covid registrations which made a long line, and people weren't even taking a safe distance 🤷🏻‍♂️ 2- After that you get two ways to passport control, one for citizens and one for other nationalities. 3- Next step is to pick up your luggage, but you need to pay for your cart which is at that time 2,50€, and they don't accept coins so the only way is to pay with credit card and then you're good to go. I expected it to be more alive with shops also (e.g. prepaid sims, money exchange)

The staff working there were generous. I needed help with something in German language on a phone call, and a lady at the help desk helped me with the talking. A kind stranger just strolling in the terminal helped me with directions because "he had time."

Very organized airport, huge, clean but not the toilet 🥴, really friendly staff (I know a lot of people think Germans aren't friendly, but I think this belief is wrong, frankly I adore them🤗🤗🤗).

In my honest opinion, some guides are not well marked, since you might ending up standing and thinking for 5 or so minutues "where should I go now".. Or maybe it was just my bad day 🙂

From the outside, the Düsseldorf Airport doesn’t look like much but inside it is more than you’d expect. The airport is clean, well maintained and looks like a modern airport you’d find in the United States. There are many shops for you to get snack, drink or whatnot before going to your gate. The ticket counters are well organized but it can be hard to read the signs for the airline. When it comes to the security checkpoint, that’s where the airport struggles because it flowed well people were skipping in line especially Checkpoint B. This caused a few arguments among other travelers because everyone is trying to get through security. Once you do get through security, it’s easy to get to your gate but I noticed that if you’re going to the C concourse, be prepared to have your passport ready. There are many shops including duty free and some designer shops lining the corridors of the airport. Also you have many choices of restaurants as well. Overall, I enjoyed the Düsseldorf Airport.

Nice airport, a quick arrivals Immigation from outside EU flight. The car rental companies have full service desks inside the terminal just as you come out after crossing customs. Then you take a short walk to the car rental building. Not very far away, would take you approx 5 minutes and you are good to go. Departures experience was very smooth, quick check in and very quick and efficient Secuirty checks, the Luftansa lounge is pretty decent, but they could perhaps have more food options. Overall a good airport and it does the job well.

Not sure why all those negatives reviews exist but I believe they were circumstantial due to COVID restrictions and a lot of departures/arrivals occuring at the same time. Never experienced anything like the other people describe. I have arrived and departed from this airport at least 10-15 times and I believe they are pretty organized and everything is as to be expected. It is a huge airport with nice business lounges and many shops. I have always been satisfied with my experience.

Dusseldorf airport luggage storage was super convenient as we had some bags we needed to store for about a week. Just bring the bags, your passport and a credit card. Even when the claim check got lost it was still easy to reclaim. Friendly staff. Saved bag fees on inter-Europe airlines by storing what we didn’t need. Check holiday hours but regularly opens very early.
