I love the store but I had an unfortunate experience in dealing with a Sales Associate (Ms Gladys - #10992337) at the check-out counter at Macy's @ the Brunswick Square mall. Earlier in the day, I had applied for a Macy's card online and produced the details of the approval including the card # and my photo id/drivers license (since I had received approval earlier in that day and had not received the physical card) at checkout. This was in-line with the Macy's website that clearly states that the store card can be used the same day based on the approval and on producing a valid photo Id. Ms Gladys refused to accept it and indicated that I could have illegally sourced the account # from the Internet (this is inspite of her verifying and confirming my photo Id & my details on the card approval). She desperately urges me to apply for a new card with her. When I refused to apply for a new card (since I had already done so earlier and had the approval), she got very irate and started speaking in an elevated & aggravated manner. I asked for the Manager to discuss the issue. The manager (Ms Gennalyn - #71461543) showed up and while I was explaining the experience with her, Ms Gladys starts speaking to Ms. Gennalyn in her native language. Ms Gennalyn verified my Card approval details, driver’s license and didn’t seem to have any concerns. My purchase is paid for by the same Macys card that Gladys refused to accept. Ms. Gennalyn assured that Gladys would be provided the necessary coaching. Would not have expected this experience at Macy's. This particular Sales Associate desperately needs the necessary training wrt store policies, handing new store cards, not forcing customers to apply for store cards and basic communication skills with customers.

This Macy's was a nice store. There is so much to look at, and the prices are always great. The store was very neat and clean and the staff was very friendly. My grandmother was very happy she was able to find some shorts and tops that she was unable to find in other stores we went to. This is a nice quiet mall so you never have to wait in line.

Merchandise variety has declined. Men's shoes stock is minimal at best. Men's store has declined over the last 4 years. I use to spend thousands a year at this store including jewelry. Last year I spent less than $300.

I went over there on Sunday June 4 to return eye glasses I received it online. I got it with minor scratchers. The associate over there ( old lady) was so tough and very rude. She refused it to return it even though it is still under one month from the purchase receipt”s date. Really it’s not acceptable from Macy’s to let the person communicate like this with the customers. It’s really frustrating.

I can't express how amazing Pat from Men's was today. Their Menlo Park location left the tags on my suit and I was omw out the door when I realized it. I came into Macy's East Brunswick and Pat took care of me right away and I made my event! Thank you Pat! You are AMAZING!

This place needs some upgrades. Looks like they are doing the bare minimum to stay open. I understand the state of employment but let's find a way to keep this place looking like their prices. We walked in and didn't feel like searching any longer for school clothes for the kids. You guys need to separate yourselves from the other failing department stores if you want to survive. Only the big guys can save retail.

The store is neat but as usual is hard to fund an associate if you need him/her.

Got good things for good price for festive season and special thanks and appreciation to Cashier Chetan for his patience and cordial services

This store is a disgrace! It is flithy, clothing scattered all over the place. Fitting rooms are unsanitary. Some of the employees are very helpful and competent, but not all are motivated. Not much attention to customer satisfaction. In the shoe department, you're on your own. I don't understand why they keep this Macy's open and close down nicer stores.

Decrepit. Insane amount of floor space chaotically organized. Little to no team members on the flor to assist. Genuinely feels abandoned and gives an eerie vibe

Haven't seen the men's department so disorganized. These staffing shortages are showing. Nice store, but the shopping experience is not as good. Macy's use to be consistently Top Shelf. Covid affected many things.

Macys in New Brunswick mall I went to buy women shoes and the associate had an attitude. I was only able to buy one pair of shoes because I couldn’t find my size in any of the shoes I liked and with the lady’s attitude I prefer to left the store. Will not shop there there anymore!

East Brunswick, so glad its not crowded, I can shop peacefully. I'm considering these boots.

  • 3/5 Ed A. 1 year ago on Google
Two very different experiences. The East Brunswick store was dead and had very little to choose from. Plus the staff was not very helpful. I rate this store a "1". Not coming back The Lawrenceville store was alive and full of inventory, mostly on sale. We found what we needed and had several good choices. I rate this store a "5". We'll be back Macy's, you need to be more consistent to be competitive in these difficult brick and mortar times.

staff made my shopping experience truly outstanding.

I love this store because it is not as crowded as the one in Menlo Mall. The choices are just as good. There is also plenty of parking available here. I wish they had a tailor for alterations available in the store. They don’t have Gap brand here only Levi’s. The winter selection is awesome especially when you go end of season. This is when they have the most sales.

My favorite place to shop. The only issue is not enough employees on the floor to help and organize the products. Most of the time it is hard to find sizes because things are not in the proper arrangement. Overall best place to shop.

We have been shopping here for decades and continue doing it as recently as this Christmas and sales after. Great for men's and women's clothing.

Terrible! TERRIBLE! Terrible! I brought my daughter in hopes to find some underwear for her and she is 5 years old and I asked advocate in the clothing isle for her size and she made a rude comment saying try the woman’s section and I was clearly in the kids area and she is a little chubby but it’s terrible for someone to say for a 5 year old to go to a women department.

I went to try on cocktail and evening dresses. There was absolutely no one around to help. No rhyme or reason as to organization with styles and/or sizes. The place was extremely warm (and I like the heat and even this was uncomfortable) and the only dressing room that was open was dirty, smelled, and some of the doors were broken and wouldn't close all the way. Every dress I found that had any type of beading was damaged. It was a mess.

You know it's just a Macy's which is pretty good, and I hope it doesn't go away I like to see the merchandise and try things on. The rest of the mall's pretty good in JCPenney's is still on the other side so I'll hit that soon too

I shop in Macy’s store and online regularly. I’m a huge fan of Tommy Hilfiger. Hilfiger in my opinion make the best jackets and jeans. They’re light, comfy, and good looking. Add to that, I buy my colognes only from Macy’s. Wanted, Sauvage, etc. You always look good and neat when you shop at Macy’s.

Like most stores it has a ton of stuff and a coat we eventually found that was a huge bargain. It was entertaining watching people steal stuff right out the door. Sadly, there was not a team of people to intercept the thieves; alas that seems to be the way these days...

Very short staffed. Difficult to access in a wheelchair, no automatic doors at the entrance we used. Could not find elevator. Not a very pleasant store to shop in. The few employees we found were helpful and cordial.

I first encountered a rude employee while seeking assistance. Then was harassed by another shopper. This was not the experience I recall prior to the pandemic, I enjoyed shopping here before now it appears I have taken a step back into prejudice time.

The store itself is practically down to bare bones...very low stock and half the departments that were once there are just gone, empty space. Usually I shop online but I needed dressier attire at the last minute. It was hard to find a cashier much less someone to help me but one of the female employees really went out of her way and spent about an hour with me going through the store and dozens of racks until we finally found some great pieces. I really wish I had gotten her name because the time and effort she spent helping me is definitely not in her job description nor did I expect her to. I would have been a huge bind if she hadn't gone out of her way, and at check out everything was 75 percent off, saving me over $100. So, to sum it up...it's very slim pickings but if you have time and patience, you can find some great pieces at some really great prices!

it used to be my go-to place for shopping but not anymore . I hardly get any good bargains there. The quality of the merchandise has dropped from excellent to worse. There is no value for money deals. The prices are sky rocketing due to the inflations.

My dad usually buys the coco Chanel fragrance at Menlo Park mall, but he came to this location & the lady walked away from him after he asked for the price of one of the coco Chanel fragrances. She attended other customers that came after him. She left him waiting for her service and he eventually left because she was too preoccupied with others. He knows that it’s because he’s Hispanic and she thought he probably wasn’t going to buy anything. The employee was a white woman.

Really nice big box store. Well stocked, pleasant workers. Wife loves looking around here.

A worker here was rude to my friends and I as soon as we got upstairs. She told us to go back downstairs and to stop playing here, keep in mind we just got upstairs and we didn’t even say a word to each other yet. We left the Macys without the reason we came their for. She also talked to a customer she was ringing up about us saying how when girls come up here it’s worse than boys. She basically kicked us out for no valid reason.

Cynthia has amazing customer service skills. She was attentive and very responsive. Unfortunately she was the only one staffed in the men’s section and she had to maintain multiple departments on top of that. Even though she was by herself she made sure it didn’t affect our experience. We were able to get a lot of items and she explained the process for the rewards program and credit card benefits. I was shopping for my birthday and she made it stress free. Thank you Cynthia, don’t change and continue to give extraordinary customer service.

My best store online especially i go here to pick orders and also shop . I however wish it could stock more otherwise quality good and customer service excellent with multiple cashiers .

It's pretty good. Like any department store you might get stuck in a line of coupon hagglers. What's really weird is the men's room is located in the handbag area and not the men's section.

Kids dept is lacking winter clothes and it's October would've been a perfect time to shop for one. Resorted to the gap.

Extremely BAD the Lady in the Purse department keep telling me it's to expensive every time I looked at a purse she did this 2 time. Then told me go to the clearance area. Then I go to the return Center and the Lady there was extremely Nasty. But she did cash herself and apologize. You could check the video. I send Thousands in this store I'm very hurt

They used to have a Women's Department that had casual, business style and more formal attire. Now it takes forever to find anything. The store still had a lot of stock, was clean and everyone was very nice. Prices were also appreciated.
