Menus which light up we're not just appreciated, but were a first time Innovation that every restaurant should follow. The greeter was superb with his friendly and accommodating style. The food was delicious, although the steak was a bit over seasoned and salty. Still, the service, atmosphere, live music and overall experience was very much worth the trip.

Wow, from start to finish - the dining experience was amazing. Paul was our server and when he was describing each dish to us, I couldn’t help but want to try them all! We did the “date night” pre fixe and it was such a generous amount. The food was amazing and we are already planning our next visit!

Outstanding service and food at this wonderful steakhouse. Beautiful ambiance and live jazz music, at least on the day I went. Service is attentive, but not overbearing! The steak was perfectly prepared as were all the sides. The sweet potato casserole was a standout!!! Will be back again!!!

Exquisite! Go here !!! Shea was attentive and made excellent recommendations! Everything , I mean everything was delicious. Crab cake , scallops, lobster tail , lobster fried rice , clams , oysters , drinks , steak , EVERYTHING! My only complaint was the parking. It was difficult finding parking on the street. There was a parking lot across the street but the entrance was closed so I had to park around the corner.

My husband and I frequent the steakhouse on special occasions, it’s our favorite place to go. The food and service never disappoints. Last weekend I had my wedding reception here and it went above and beyond my expectations. The service was amazing and everyone’s food was cooked to their liking. Natalie did an amazing job from the planning of the event, all the way to the end. She made sure everything was perfect. Thank you all so much, we will see you soon!!

We had a business meeting last night. Steakhouse 85, Rutgers Nation. I was blown away by the menu. It lit up & didn't need to use by phone flash light to read it. Genius. Very interesting appetizers & they did not disappoint. We especially Luke the Sizzling Smoke Bacon 🥓. The Steaks were delicious. I ordered the Prime NY STRIP with the Sweet Potato Casserole, Shoe String Potatoes & Classic Mac n Cheese. Service was excellent.

Our server and the staff who cleaned our table and brought our food were very attentive and friendly. However the food itself was subpar and not worth the money in my opinion. Also, I was personally not a fan of our utensils being placed bare on the table with no napkins. We had no complaints of the service otherwise.

My husband and I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary at Steakhouse 85 and we had such an amazing dining experience! We really liked the restaurant’s interior layout as it reminded us of our favorite steakhouse in Chicago - that swanky yet cozy vibe. Our waitress was SUPER attentive. Since it was our first time dining there, she provided us great recommendations while going over the entire menu (which lights up btw, so cool!). My husband got the wedge salad to start off the night. He loved it so much, he already made plans to come back just to get that salad again! I ordered a petite filet and added the bone marrow butter on top of my steak. It really made my steak extra tasty and juicy, however, it was a $19.00 steak add-on. They gave me a big heap of that butter which I was able to use some of it in the mash potatoes that we shared. Most likely wouldn’t order this again, but we were celebrating, so I wanted to treat myself :) My husband and I had the banana split sundae for dessert . The waitress included a candle with a little chocolate sign that said “Happy Anniversary” on our dessert. It was such a sweet ending to our special night!

Steakhouse 85 is such an amazing restaurant. My husband and I got engaged there last year & have been going for Valentine’s Day and our birthdays every year for 5 years now! We met at Rutgers and it’s always such a nice trip down memory lane. The quality and consistency of the food and service are unbeatable and the live jazz music always makes the night even more special. Looking forward to visiting for years to come.

My server was Dan and he was so sweet and made me feel extremely comfortable since it was my first time here and I was alone. The drinks were really good I also had the smoked Manhattan 10/10 for the appetizer I had the meatballs they were really tasty and easy to eat. For my dinner I had the petite steak medium well which came out to perfection it was cooked perfectly as well as seasoned amazingly! I was actually surprised. They did have a date night menu I thought was interesting but did not try . The regular menu has super bright lights but it’s pretty cool and definitely helps making reading the menu easier. Dan did give me a heads up with the menu so I wasn’t shocked which was much appreciated. I will definitely come back again. & making a reservation for the weekend is a must!! If you come in December be sure to participate in toy drive. They also did have live music playing which I definitely enjoyed

This place is awesome and a staple in New Brunswick. The food is outstanding and reasonably priced as well! The steak is incredible perfectly seasoned and cooked as I ordered it. The tomahawk with the blue cheese on top was my favorite! Sides were very good as well. Definitely would recommend a visit!

Phenomenal! We went out to celebrate my brother's birthday and it made my week. Their steaks were superb (obviously) but their lobster mac and cheese and waffle dessert really made my jaw drop. Everything, ranging from the servers to the takeout bags, was excellent. Their menus even lit up! If I could afford to do this once a week, I would definetly go.

Right when my wife and I entered the restaurant, we were made to feel like we were special. We chose our seats and met our waiter, Nick. He was very knowledgeable and courteous. When my wife's cocktail was not to her liking, Ezra, the bartender, worked patiently and adjusted the drink. We didn't have to wait long for our food and the temperature of my Dry Aged Delmonico steak was perfect. I must say that Nick went out of his way to make our 43rd anniversary special, and for that we are truly grateful. If you have a special occasion that you want to truly be made to feel special, check out Steakhouse 85. You won't be disappointed!!!!!

This is the best steakhouse around. Quality of food is great and service is borderline too much! It's better than all the chains and better than the specialty spots too! Parking right across the street! Didn't take pics of the food for some reason and we ate insanely fast! Just remembered to take a pic of this tequila special! I'll have to return to take more pics!

I have been to Steakhouse so many times. Love their food and excellent customer service and wait staff always. I just had a private event dinner for my husbands birthday yesterday. I coordinated everything with the event coordinator Natalie Bien months ago. She was by far the sweetest, kindest and easiest person to work with. Not once did she hesitate to answer any questions and ensured the room looked as I described. Our Waitress for the evening was Grace and she too was amazing!! Thank you so much ladies for making my husband’s event a beautiful and memorable one. You guys are AMAZING!!

Great experience at this steakhouse. We had Nick as our server, and he was very personable and answered all of our questions. He gave great suggestions for both drinks & food. We ordered the porterhouse & colossal cowboy ribeye to share, along with 5-6 sides including: steak fries, shoestring fries, mashed potatoes, sautéed spinach, mac & cheese, and sautéed mushrooms. For drinks we ordered sangria, and pineapple cosmos, all drinks were enjoyable as well. Dessert - we ordered the chocolate lava cookie & crème brûlée. Can’t go wrong with either, they’re both amazing! Everything met expectations, we had a good time!

Always a great meal at Steakhouse 85. Started with the complimentary bread service and butter. The bread was not warm, but was still chewy with a crunchy crust. Next up were three Blue Point Oysters and the prosciutto wrapped mozzarella. Both appetizers were delicious. The oysters were very fresh and flavorful. The mozzarella was warm, served with delicious roasted tomatoes. For my main course, I opted for the burger because this is truly one of the best burgers I have ever had, and had not eaten it in awhile. It never fails. I asked it to be topped with cheddar cheese, and the burger is incredibly fresh and juicy. My wife ordered the sirloin, encrusted with bleu cheese. Steak was cooked to perfection and the topping just added an extra layer of flavor. Have been here over 20 times since it first opened and have NEVER left disappointed. Highly recommended.

Steak was great cooked perfect the coffee drink was great but the sides , dessert and appetizers were just ok . Our waitress was excellent . The place seems like it’s from back in the day and that’s ok . We liked the band . Three stars because the ambience, seat placement and because of the food besides the steak

Food and drinks were delicious 👌🏼!! The only 2 things I didn’t like was that the table for 2 people are so SMALL. They sat my husband and I by the kitchen, it was a little annoying to keep looking at the kitchen door opening every 5 seconds🫤.. even though i did my reservation as a birthday one. Everything else was good.

Live music plays here which was a nice touch. The server was very nice and customer service was very good. The food here was great, everything from appetizers to dessert was very tasty. Ordered the ribeye for my entree and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I don't drink much but my fiancee really liked the Grow a Pear cocktail drink and kept ordering it through dinner - that's how much he liked it. The atmosphere is very intimate, definitely a good date spot or for special occasions with your significant other.

I was here 10 years ago and don't know why I waited so long to go back.We came to celebrate my wife's birthday and they didnt dissapoint. Their steaks and food are as good as any of the best steakhouses in NY. The owner is very much involved in this restaurant to assure it's always top notch and makes it a policy to come around to every table to make sure everything is satisfactory. The wait staff is super attentive and knowledgeable and very friendly ad pleasant. My wife thought the flavor of the porterhouse was the best she ever had. I've been to many steakhouses and think they make the best sides. Most of the steakhouses in NY drench their sides in butter. She did not like the taste of the first bottle of wine and they corrected that with a different bottle. The banana split for dessert will really make you smile with delight.

This place is excellent! The service from Lauren was outstanding. The steak was near perfect and the spinach salad was pure bliss. This is my new favorite in this area.

Solid NJ steak house. As a SHU grad was tough to walk through the Rutgers garb lol. Steak was very good. Get the crab fried rice. Asparagus was cooked to perfection.

One of the best pork chops I ever had. Food was great. Fast and friendly service. Place was super clean. Recommend this place
