Located in Yacolt Washington, lies Lucia Falls. It is truly a stunningly beautiful and picturesque Pacific Northwest gem!! To all of my fellow nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts, you must check this place out! My husband and I had such an awesome time here today, and I am completely convinced you will too! You are surrounded by nothing but lush green forest and big open waterfall areas along the Lewis River. Simply breathtaking, and sooo serene! Another perfect 'getaway' spot! Apart from the 1 mile hike that is Lucia Falls, there is a 2.5 mile hiking trail connected to this short trail called Moulton Falls. There are quite a few other trails that branch off these trails too. If you are looking for a longer walk, this place has got you covered. Do go chasing waterfalls, because there are 4 of them in this area! 👍🏼

My favorite place to take small walks. It is small, maybe 2 miles for the whole whole thing. I love walking on the rocks by the waterfalls. Can be a little slippery if not correct shoes! Have fun

Easy and free parking, multiple picnic tables, real bathrooms, and easy trails. This place is beautiful and climbing on the rocks in the river is a ton of fun!

Lucia Falls trail is a quick one mile loop with several branch-offs that lead to the river and the falls. The trails are well kept, free of debris, and mostly accessible. The view of the falls is great. There are picnic tables to sit and watch/ listen at the falls. Lush greenery and abundant wildlife make this an excellent quick hike. There are restroom facilities near the trailhead.

Great park! Enjoyed walking there,it has limitations for visitors, you can't touch water! Because they are doing their best to preserve natural conditions for the salmon. Water is crystal clear, lovely views! Highly recommend if you're looking for a peace, quiet, and private time with nature!

Hidden gem. Found this place by poking around on maps because it doesn’t really appear on hiking lists. Beautiful scenery, easy to medium hard hiking depending on how close you want to get to the water. You can hike for 1 mile or up to 6 depending on how much you want to walk. Dogs are allowed on leash but no contact with water allowed. Parking was easy and free. Best to go before 9:30am on hot days

I recommend visiting this very lovely and impressive spot. If you are passing by, make sure to stop for a picturesque moment. My photos were taken a warm summer evening.

I regularly find myself driving on beautiful wooded country roads, catching glimpses of rivers, and wishing there was a convenient place to pull off the road and safely get to the water's edge. Lucia Falls is exactly the kind of place I hope to find. It's basically a parking lot leading to trails that more or less parallel the river. Walking west from the parking lot, it was hard to tell when the park ended, but it's a pleasant walk in the woods. Going east from the parking lot is a longer loop, and a direct shortcut to Lucia Falls itself. It's a short walk with a beautiful payoff. There are picnic tables near the water, and paths giving you great views of the rushing water. If you've already been to Moulton Falls Park, and then stopped at Lucia Falls, you can complete the neighborhood hat trick with a visit to Pomeroy Farm and Winery, just to the west.

Pictures don't convey the actual experience. Lots of picnic tables, trash cans, abundance of lush foliage, real toilets that actually have paper seat covers, BBQs, but most of all... Calm.

Absolutely worth the drive!! This waterfall is accessible just by a short walk (yes you heard me, NO HIKING needed!) and is the most majestic view you will ever see. Summertime is ideal due to the low water and easy access to the other side (if you're down to climb the rocks). Wintertime the water is high and the current fierce. This place has become our favorite go to waterfall. The tail is amazing as well.

Beautiful falls. I don't know that this is much of a hike. It's more of a walk. Very family friendly with picnic tables and lots of spots to have a picnic. My family loved it.

I went to Lucia Falls frequently when I was a kid. I missed going! Things have changed a bit... As you can no longer go in the water and fishing but it's still very beautiful and a great place to picnic and hike.

It's a nice walk along the river. It was very hot outside, and a jump into one of the pools would have been refreshing. But, the river is closed to swimming and all river contact to preserve habitat for the fish.

Beautiful park with crystal clear water. Lot's of spots to explore. Several spots to have a gathering/picnic. Public restrooms open during the Summer, not sure if open during Fall/Winter. Great place to enjoy nature.

My recent visit to this park left a lasting impression, albeit not a positive one. While the park's natural beauty and potential for an enjoyable experience were evident, the hazards at the entrance overshadowed the visit. The narrow entrance with poorly marked warnings led to a series of unfortunate events, resulting in flat tires and a prolonged wait for assistance. The entrance to the park presents a significant safety concern due to its narrow width and inadequate warning signs. The difference in width between the entrance and exit is confusing for unfamiliar visitors, and the unnoticeable separating post poses a serious risk to vehicles. The absence of prominent warning signs in a clearly visible location makes it easy for drivers to inadvertently choose the wrong path, leading to tire damage and significant inconvenience. In my case, the lack of proper warnings resulted in flat three tires. The wait for a towing truck to arrive and assist us lasted an agonizing four and a half hours, significantly dampening the overall experience and adding unnecessary stress to our day. Upon speaking with the towing truck driver, I was disheartened to learn that incidents like ours are not uncommon. It's concerning that the towing truck driver, who shared that he comes to assist stranded customers at the park frequently, highlighted an ongoing issue that needs immediate attention. I strongly urge the park management to take proactive measures to enhance safety at the entrance. Placing a warning sign in the middle of the entrance and incorporating a flat tire warning would greatly help prevent similar incidents in the future. Additionally, reevaluating and redesigning the entrance layout to minimize confusion and clearly demarcate the correct path for vehicles is essential to ensuring a safe and pleasant experience for all visitors. In conclusion, while the potential for an enjoyable visit to this park is evident, the safety hazards and lack of appropriate warnings at the entrance pose a significant risk to visitors. Urgent improvements are needed to address these issues and create a safer environment for all. I hope that the park management takes this feedback seriously and prioritizes the necessary changes to enhance the overall safety and experience for visitors.

Great park! We went the week of Thanksgiving. The waterfall was gorgeous and a very short (< 5 mins) walk. The park itself was well maintained with lots of picnic tables, space to run around, and trails. We will definitely be coming here again.

Nice small area park with access to a waterfall on the Lewis river. Got to witness salmon trying to leap up the falls to spawn. Easy access to a pleasant outdoor experience.

A hidden gem north of Battleground and east of Kalama. We're planning a picnic, next year, across the nearby logging road bridge (8 picnic tables on the bluff above the East Fork of the Lewis River! Bells Mountain Trail offers an exercise regimen that is more vigorous than doing the stepclimber in the gym (and more scenic to boot!)

Beautiful area. Nice sized parking lot. Bathroom on site. Easy walk to falls. Nice event area with 3 tables & bbq/grill. Friday at 4pm the event area was available. There is no swimming or water access allowed here, which is a bummer, but the focus is on riverlife preservation. Well maintained.

Over a footbridge and into the woods. Lucia Falls has both park and wilderness features. A short walk down an easy path leads to a large maintained grass area with picnic tables and a bathroom. Head down the slightly steeper natural trail, and the view opens up to the featured Falls. Adventure through some of the short loop trails, or down (and up) to the falls themselves. Sit in the mist, or hop the rocks for a beautiful view. There is something for everyone, and furry friends are welcome! Parking is a paved, gated lot (closed at dusk). For safety, there is no roadside parking. If busy, I suggest driving a little further - practically across the street - and visiting Pomeroy Farms (weekends only). Using gps to be ready for the parking lot turn is appreciated by locals who regularly travel the river road; the drive is winding with marked speed limits between 40-50mph. Keep this in mind to safely enter and exit the parking lot. The main path from the parking lot to the bathroom and picnic area is moderately standard wheel chair accessible with a limited view of the Falls. Other areas could become difficult for both standard and motorized chairs. No other motorized or electric vehicles are allowed at Lucia Falls. As always, be a good steward of these nature areas. Rural parks generally have only one or two people to maintain their beauty, help them out by always removing your trash (including raw veg/fruit peels, dog waste, etc), and being flexible with your visit, when possible, to avoid overcrowding.
