Place is easy to locate but limited parking around especially during busy hours, try street parking. Plenty of seatings in-house but quite crowded and makes it really hard to have a clear conversation amongst guests at your own table and without having to speak louder than usual otherwise place is well maintained. Food doesn’t take long to be served and all appear to be well presented and also tasty. Tried 4 different types of cakes and most of them were quite dry and not really to our liking except for the orange cake. Staff and services were great but bear in mind they are very strict with closing time and will want you out on the spot at closing time.

Great all day menu, plenty of space between tables. I had the Soul Sandwich and my partner had the Poke bowl. Both dishes a solid 11/10. We waited no longer than 6 minutes for our food.

Organised a high tea for 7 of us. Absolutely worth it!! Amazing service and atmosphere. Staff were so accommodating and they even had a special plate for one of us with dietary requirements. Bottomless coffee and tea was a winner. Thank you so much and for those thinking of going, I highly recommend!

Food is well-presented and generous in portion. On our first visit, we tried the waffle chicken which was just the right mix of savoury, sweet and spicy. On our second visit, we had the beef brisket hash and salmon potato pave. Beef brisket hash perfect. The sauce had a nice kick to it. Salmon potato pave was yummy too. Cafe does get busy and your orders might be bit slow to come, but otherwise it’s a lovely place to eat and catch up with friends.

Was in the Freo area and always wanted to visit this place. Finally had the chance as heard a lot of good things about the food. Ordered the Beef brisket hash with poached eggs, Poke bowl KFC option, side of fries with aioli and the Korean Fried Chicken burger. Everything was yummy but the K chicken burger didn’t look like the standard of the other dishes. The cafe also has Purezza distilled and sparkling water on tap which is nice.

We came here for lunch and had a good experience. The coffee/matcha latte was great! Food was also very nice with plenty of flavour and uniqueness to them. We came on a public holiday, so there was a surcharge which made it a little expensive but overall we had a positive experience.

French toast is excellent, perfect sizing and toppings. The coffees however were awful, flat white was very burnt and the soy hot chocolate tasted like water. Do not recommend for a coffee.

One of the best brunch I had so far. The chicken waffle was absolutely delicious. Nice menu and place ! Will definitely come back.

WOW! So impressed by the MSL crew. We hired the space for a private high tea function. The team couldn’t do enough and were extremely patience and accomodating to our needs. Not to mention how DELICIOUS the food was. Went beyond our expectations (and met every dietary need!). Thank you guys!

May Street Larder is an artsy cafe on the outskirts of Freo. The Peach & Berry Cheesecake French Toast (pictured) was very sweet and a bit too heavy on the vanilla mascarpone. The Breakfast Burrito was too heavy on the egg. It has great seating, is very spacious, and suitable for families.

The cafe looks very nice and comfortable, with warm lights and plant but unfortunately the service and atmosphere left me disappointed and made my decision to not came back. Firstly, I had to wait to order for a while even though there was no line, staff members were cleaning tables instead and kept telling ne to wait. Once my two coffees were ordered, I waited 25 (!) minutes to receive the coffees. The background noice was loud due to polishing cutlery. People who ordered after me got services before. When I asked for the coffees after 20 mins I was told there were a couple orders before me. Staff members seemed unmotivated and tired.

We had an amazing high tea experience at May Street Larder. We were quite last minute in booking (within 48hours) and they were thankfully able to accommodate. The Cafe atmosphere was nice, laidback friendly. The high tea menu is special, check out the photos. Couldn't fault any of them.. the kfc slider was on point, brownie and macaron weren't too sweet. Definitely coming back again, and would try other ala carte menu too

Booked High Tea for me and my family and it was beautiful. You could tell that the food was all made in house with great care. The flavours in everything were well balanced. Many of our group had coffee and everyone commented on how good it was. One of our group had dietary requirements and these were accommodated. Lovely staff. We had never been here before but we will definitely go again. Thank you for the lovely experience May Street Larder

We went there for breakfast, friendly staff and good services. Tried the Korean chicken burger and a simple breakfast with egg/bacon/mushroom ($23), the burger is alright, but the breakfast is a little pricey.

Had a family brunch on Sunday. Booking wasn't necessary for us but it did seem get busier quicker. I had a lamb dish and my husband had a beef brisket dish. Every single dish didn't fail us.

Definitely enjoyed our dining experience here. Quick service, friendly staff. Nice ambiance. Great food. Good choices of breakfast. Popular place for breakfast. Love the sashuka with bread and chorizo. Coffee is good also.

The shakshuka here is basically egg in tomato soup. No flavour, no texture. Coffee was okay, but much better places to go in east freo/freo. Looks nice but no atmosphere. Service was quick but no follow up to ask how the food was. Edit: You can really tell from the replies that the management don't care one bit

We had a party of 10 people for the high tea and it was absolutely wonderful. Amazing service, we were so well looked after. They catered for our dietary requirements without a fuss. The food and drinks were 10/10. Highly recommended.
