Great venue with attentive service staff that offers live ticketed entertainment. Very dissappointed with the over priced, undersized servings on the menu. Don't appreciate paying $27 for a salad that comprised of 98% corriander leaf and stem with a small scattering of chickpeas and a couple of pieces of cucumber. Will definately be eating elsewhere next time we visit for the live entertainment.

Saw Al Pithers last night and it was a fantastic night! As well as the world-class musicians, it's a great venue, the staff are top notch and the food was great! Can't wait for Al's next performance there!

Beautiful atmosphere. The place is best by far. The staff is awesome. Service 5 star, cleanliness 5 star, venue 5 star.

Service is more of the wait staff being attentive to how else to convince you order some more. The "local octopus" just meant fried calamari for $28 other than being cooked straight from a plastic bag out of Woolworth’s it's so salty that we had to request for mustard to mask the unwanted extra sodium. We went there for the live music. If a restaurant would charge that high for calamari make it least edible.

Whether it's for an intimate performance, or for the bi- monthly record fairs, this venue has an excellent ambience. Plus some tasty brews & meals to boot.

Great venue, service was impeccable. Food was great for everyone except mine. I had the pork belly, which was like eating sloppy water. Zero flavour, texture was more like jelly and so overpriced. I've had better food at a local court. Shame as it put a real damper on the night out.

I was fortunate to experience this venue when it showcased the cabaret talents of two sister chanteuses Emma Flynn Dandy McGee and Jamie Mac, both of whom are accomplished musicians and cabaret artists who delighted us with songs, poetry, musical theatre and comedy. For an intimate setting the Duke of George provided the ideal ambience to showcase the talents of local entertainers. The acoustics were great, the food was very good, all in all it was a most wonderful evening. If I were pressed to find a criticism it would be the line of sight was a bit of a struggle at times with a column on the side. The persons sitting closer to the stage might obscure visibility a bit too, so I was leaning this way and that to see the action. If the stage was higher that might’ve alleviated this inconvenience. The stationary bench seating is positioned perpendicular to the stage, therefore people sitting there must lean forward in a staggered fashion to see the performance.

Great venue, service is really good. It is quite intimate so the acts feel really close. I do wish you could stand at the bar & see the stage. Small gripe, it's really good.

The ambience, service, food and drinks exceeded my expectations. I recently enjoyed the fabulous Music of Etta James show. Highly recommend the Duke of George for a sophisticated and fun night out - my new fave place!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The food and service was great, we had the roasted cauliflower with lentils and whipped feta and the butternut & chickpea tagine and it was delicious. The small venue allows to experience the life music from very close up.

Been there last night to celebrate bastille day. Found other clients very rude as we were told off for speaking while the band was playing. Might be a good idea to set the rules straight from the start and in a nicely manner as we are in a restaurant and eating while the band is performing so yes people talk. Even the singer telling customers to ‘shut up’ was really unprofessional and rude. And beeing French, i did not enjoy the band and especially the singer trying to sing in French in a terrible accent. Otherwise the atmosphere of the restaurant is cosy and staff was friendly and nice.

Was a good atmosphere. Nice styling inside. Food and service was also good. No real simple things on the menu, but it was much classier than a pub so the food style matches.

Yummy yummy grub! Had the pole line caught fish - barramundi with crispy perfect skin. Soul Lab was super good fun. Loved they left a little dance space in front of the band. Sick 💃🕺🥁🎺📯

Ok, a great reception by the staff. Order taken for food but not processed so waited over an hour before anyone queried our situation. Main course arrives and all is great except for the belly pork which has no ‘crisp’. Also very bland. I query this to be told that this is the way the chef does it - what chef does belly pork without the crisp!! Ok, so a tasteless plate of food is returned in full only to be told there is no refund but I could select something else! So, a failed order, massively hungry, then served with a bland pork serving And told that I could not get a refund! My first visit to this place was a great experience, this visit has changed that - sorry, great staff but don’t treat customers in this way.

Superb service every time. From being greeted at the door to the bar service, everything runs like a well-oiled machine. The food is delicious and a good variety. Corn bread is a must try as is the Hazy Harvey cocktail. Cocktail list is thorough, as is the wine and beer selection. Book shows early to get great seats, although the way the venue is set out most seats, even a but further back, have a clear view of the stage. There is a show for every musical taste, regular emails are always informative and easy links are provided to book whatever you like.

Venue is perfect, service was good. Ordered main courses what a joke, My friend and I ordered the octopus from the menu the serving was two skinny pieces of tentacles. We paid $28 for which was supposed to be the main course. I am generally have small portions of food but this serving was beyond a small serve. Someone else ordered arancini he got two pieces size of a golf ball. It’s a disgrace to be serving food at such a small potion and charging main course prices. The least they could have done was accompany the dish with a salad or chips. Shame on you guys.

April/23 Updated review lovely evening for couple and small groups We tested the music dinner a la carte. As expected the band was outstanding. Thoroughly enjoyed Django Jazz. Dinner was lovely. We had the Cornbread Roasted quail Beef Cheeks Lemon tarte Chocolate foundant All up with a few cocktails and a bottle of wine the bill came to $260 Highly recommended if you value great music and yummy food April/22 Lovely jazz bar and restaurant. Will come and try the food. Hop in for a drink and enjoy the music. Martini 22 dollars is a bit steep

Fabulous venue for live music, and the food was spectacular. Very happy with our visit, and we'll be planning to go again. The "bar snacks" menu was a highlight, suprising value and delicious food

Great wedding venue! We couldn't be happier with the excellent organisation, catering, and outstanding friendly service of Renee and her team for our spring wedding celebration at Duke of George. Our guests really loved the food selections, Ric's music vibes and great indoor and outdoor spaces. Thank you!

Sardines on toast, which describes the packed atmosphere. An entree for $28! Yes sardines on toast literally. Had already paid over $50 on the door for standing room only. Unable to sit on a bar stool at any time. Very dissapointing experience. Toilets filthy
